I recently went to Jeff Barnes for four new tires and new steel wheels. I paid nearly $600 for this service. After having driven just a hundred miles or so, I had to pull off the road because my car was shaking so badly. All four of the lug nuts on one of the tires were loose enough to twist by hand. When I called to talk to Jeff about it, he actually said that it was common for nuts to loosen after awhile. Maybe he thought that, since I'm a woman, he could give me this bogus answer and I'd just trust him but I asked around and found that it is not the case at all! He also rudely told me that he didn't have children working for him and that the nuts would have been tight when they left his shop. He "didn't know what could have happened" and never offered so much as an apology. The person who I took my car to next said that, without a doubt, Jeff Barnes had failed to tighten the nuts. Three of the tires were properly affixed and one was almost falling off. I am so utterly disappointed with the quality of the work, the customer service, and my overall experience. Had I been going any faster or had I not been able to pull over, this could have been much more dangerous to myself and every other traveler on the road. I will never go to Jeff Barnes again. I would rather shove my broken down car off a cliff and ride a unicycle all over town than trust my car to his incompetent and negligent service.

Jeff has treated us honestly and fairly for the last four years for repairs as well as new tires and batteries. In that time period we have taken at least five cars there for everything from transmission and engine replacements (that I know they needed) to oil changes. Even if you don't live in southern Wake or northern Harnett Counties, you should drive a little further for an honest opinion and fair pricing at Jeff Barnes.

I also saw the same negative review. Not quite sure what that person's problem is because I have never had anything but good experiences from Jeff Barnes Auto. It's obvious that Rusty is a person who has a personal vendetta or something to post the same review over and over again on different websites.

I am sad to hear that the only other reviewer gave such a bad rating with no actual detail as to what happened to their car general or specific.

I have a very positive review below.

BTW, I am copying and placing my positive review on many different review websites because the same negative reviewer as gone to other places as well and copied the same exact negative review elsewhere. I will also give my email if anyone wants to contact me to make sure I am a real customer.

First, background info.

Have had a rattling noise under my car for some time now and needed it fixed. Did a walk-in to a repair shop in Raleigh, NC a month ago, and was pressured by a mechanic and told that it would need a replacement catalytic converter immediately and that the rattling would stop my car dead on the road very soon if I didnt get it fixed. I didnt want pay that much so I declined and got a second opinion. Glad I did.

I was given Jeff Barnes Auto Replair by a friend. Jeff said over the phone it would be $225 for my car if it was the catalytic converter that needed replacing. Dropped off the car in the morning, and when I called back in a few hrs I was told by Jeff that it was not the converter but a heat shield that broke off and was just rattling. It was properly taken out and disposed of. He only asked $25. I gave him more then that for his honesty. Glad trusted Jeff Barnes Auto instead and saved over $200!!

I have recently moved to the area close to Angier where the repair shop is located. Its easy to find, off Highway 55 going towards Lillington (just beside Dominos Pizza).

A friend and neighbor who has lived in the area longer then I have gave me Jeff Barnes #. Jeff said over the phone it would be $225 for my car if it was the catalytic converter that needed replacing. I dropped off the car in the morning, and when I called back in a few hrs I was told by Jeff that it was not the converter but a heat shield that broke off and was just rattling inside.
