I've been attending weekly adult ice skating lessons at this location for about 4 months now. It is a wonderful experience, the staff are well educated in proper form and provide excellent tips on how best to practice outside of class.

If I could give it no stars I would! This is supposed to be a place for all kinds of skaters including those who enjoy a little bit of competition ice hockey. It takes the fun out of a sport when the referee AKA: Russ, is biased and

We signed our daughter up for parents night out at this facility. She was injured when another child stepped on her hand and cut it almost to the bone. We received no call to alert us to this. When we dropped her off, there was a responsible adult there. When I picked her up, there was a 14 year old boy with two teenage girls there. My daughter's hand was bloody and covered with 4 bandaids. No first aid, nothing. We then spent six hours in the local ER! Never going back and I would advise you don't either!!!!

Cons: Lack of attention

It is a good place to skate. The weekends are jam-packed, especially on Saturdays. The weekdays will be quiet dull, but there may be professionals training during that time. I personally would love to go on a weekend. The price for renting skates is pretty reasonable. Overall, a nice place to have fun with a group of friends.

The Raleigh Iceplex is a decent place to go ice skating but it is nothing out of the ordinary. It is definitely a good time for $18 for two people, about the same price as a movie. Once we picked it up how to ice skate we had a really good time. I think it was fun seeing an improvement in our performance.

The skates provided are very old and not in good condition and the person handing them out didn't seem to know what he was doing and didn't seem like he wanted to be there, so we couldn't get any advice on how to find skates that properly fit. This is disappointing because good fitting skates are very important in having a positive skating experience.

The atmosphere is once of mainly junior high school - high school teenagers and families. Nothing too wild and a good place to take the family. There is no alcohol allowed or served so this helps keeps the experience more condusive to a family environment.

I would like to go ice skating again, but would try a different venue next time mainly so we can get someone who would help us get skates that fit properly.

The Raleigh Iceplex Skating Complex is a new and welcome facility in the Raleigh area. The facility is open 7 days a week. During the week - there are not many patrons - so this is the best time for for the beginner to train. On weekends - it is PACKED and the ice gets torn rather easiley and quickly. For the non skater - the lounge offers a grea menu and a large fireplace to relax by. This biggest problem with the faciality is the fact that many parents drop their kids off and then leave the rink! A bad thing to do when 200 other parents do the same thing!

Iceplex is great because it has a lot of parking, a huge lobby, competent skate sharpening, good snack bar, and a big ice surface. The prices are good too. On the other hand, the ice quickly gets torn up during weekend public sessions, where teens and kids go wild. If you see a school bus or church van outside, stay away for your own sanity and safety. Otherwise, this is a fun place to skate.

PROS: Nice facility
CONS: Bad ice and big crowds on weekends
