Ratings_icons Delivery: Wonderful Pizza, rest of menu falls flat!

I have ordered pizza from Avanti's several times, and I have always been beyond happy. I love New York style pizza and that is what you get. The last time I ordered a pick-up and my friends and I got three different entree's. They were awful! I would have been much happier with Chef Boyardee. The pasta in the dishes was overcooked and mushy, the sauces were bland and under seasoned. They also messed up the order, and we had to return to pick up some things. One of those things was the garlic rolls, which ended up also not being good. If you go here stick with the pizza!!

Pros: Best New York Styly Pizza

Cons: Other entrees were flavorless and boring.

Ratings_icons Great Pizza

What are you people talking about?? The pizza at Avanti is awesome! Service was great, owner came out and personally asked how everything was, even had the authentic NY accent. (Felt like I was in a Goodfellas scene minus the coke and Joe Pesci) Stop your complaining, this place rocks.

Pros: Great Tasting Pizza

Cons: none

Ratings_icons Food is okay but service is dismal

We have three small children (6 and under) so we love to arrive at restaurants early and patronize places with quick service. We ordered two slices of pizza and one stromboli and a plate of plain pasta. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we arrived. 30 minutes later when the restaurant filled up with eating patrons, we were still waiting. We brought this to the attention of the manager and he told us he would check. 10 min later we went to the front counter and were told our order had mistakenly been given to someone else. There was no apology. No offer to compensate. Simply a "We'll put it in again." If you have small children you know that waiting longer is sometimes not an option. My husband explained this to the manager and was told it 'wasn't their fault.' What???? We asked for a refund of our money and will not patronize this place again. Too bad since we live close by and love pizza. There is no place for "attitude" in good customer service.

Pros: Convenient location, clean

Cons: Service was slow and manager was rude.

Ratings_icons Outstanding pizza

We get the pizza here, can't vouch for any of the other offerings. But you get a great pizza. We've tried a few of the other pizza places locally, and we like this one the best by far. Big pie, fresh ingredients, overall it tastes very good. We usually get vegetarian pizza, and it gets a little soggy, but I think that's to be expected with all the vegetables on it. It's a better deal than Wolfman pizza - bigger, toppings are a little cheaper and it tastes better.

Pros: Great pizza, very competitively priced

Cons: stuck in the corner of the strip mall

Ratings_icons Best New York Pizza in South Charlotte !!!

louiel

Being from New York, they have the Best Pizza I have found In Charlotte, NC. Since they remodeled, I take my family once or twice a week there. The Staff is always very considerate and brings the food to the table. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. The other reviews must be from their compitition (Just Look at the "User Names"... What a bad way to do business).

Many of the Pasta Dishes are great portions. They advertise a 16" pie but if you eat in, you usually get a very Flavorful 18" pizza that fills up my family of four. My favorite Entree is their Lasagna. A huge mound of a piece that leaves you enough for lunch the next day. I brought some relatives from New York here two years ago and they always request to go here when in town. This restarurant has been in the Arboretum since 1993 and has always Kicked Butt on their competition.

If you are looking for a great Family Restaurant that serves Italian Food but you don't want to bust your wallet.... This is the Place !!!

We Also had our Soccor Party here and the staff went out of there way to accomodiate us. We made a huge mess and they all worked together to Clean UP !!! Thanks...

Pros: Great Food. Closest to NY Pizza I have found in Charlotte

Cons: Very Busy on Fridays... The Place to Be for Families !!

Ratings_icons expensive and bad

pizzarocks

The food here was expensive and bad. The pizza was not good at all. It was overcooked with the wrong toppings. The lasagna, however, was good. We took some people from out of town and we were embarrased. When our pizza was brought to the table it had all the wrong toppings on it, and when we brought it to the attention of the guy who appeared to be the owner, we were told that we must have ordered it wrong. I guess its possible that, as vegetarians, we meant to say mushrooms and black olives but we accidently asked for pepperoni and sausage. He said they would make another one and it would take 15 minutes but he didnt offer any discount or even apologize? Overall, Bad experience.

Pros: uncrowded

Cons: expensive, bad service

Pretty good pizza but staff just socializes and it gets very busy, especially on friday night. I'd do take out for this place. Also, VERY VERY pricey.

Pros: not bad pizza
