My relatives from out of town wanted to go to PF Changs (they said it was good in FL) but we went on a Saturday night at the Southpoint location in Durham NC, we were told the waiting time was over 2 hrs!! At first we were going to wait but decided instead to sit near the bar and order take out. That was a mistake as well. The staff rushed us into ordering and by the time we got the food, we still nearly waited 2hrs to get it! When we got home, the food was bland and not tasty at all. I ordered lamb and it was not cooked very well and such a small portion was given for the $$$. My expectations soured because I thought for the price it should've been much better. But I'll give it another try by going on a different evening other than a weekend and being seated as opposed to take out.

We visit P.F. Chang's where ever we go. Something special about this one at the Crabtree Mall in Raleigh. The food is fantastic as always, but the service and atmosphere is even more incredible. Great servers, but it must be the managers in the background. We eat there at least once or twice a month. We are glad to have picked Raleigh for our retirement home. We like the country living, but what a great city to live near.

Pros: Food and Service

Cons: None

We love the place. the food is great and the service is outstanding. It's loud, but it's a bistro-type so you would expect that. My only complaint is when my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, the waitress put us at a table in the middle of two families. On one side were the loud kids and on the other table were the parents, who weren't tending to their children. The restaurant should have known better than to place in the middle like that. Other than that, we love the place. The pricing is good.

Cons: Parking is a nightmare

I like the style of the restaurant although it can get packed! As for the menu they have so many dishes to try from, so I just can't get the samething, so what do I recommend? Well, I'm not too much of a meat eater, but their shrimp dishes with noodles, rice, or they have a very different singapore noodle that tastes much different than the regular chinese restaurants with some crumbles on top, which I can do without that, but the dish itself is good! Also, their crabmeats on the appetizer menu are very good made of real crabmeat. Their hot & sour soup is bar the best I've ever tasted!

Best place to work at, bar none. Management is great, down to the lower echelons of the ladder, including food preparers and kitchen staff. We ALL WORK HARD and strive for providing YOU, our GUEST, with the best service AND Chinese food you've ever had in your life! If the server asks if "everything is ok" one too many times, it has nothing to to do with the quality of the food, but an offering of some of the best, if not the best service you've ever had at any restaurant, Chinese or not! Btw, the servers and everyone else working there are all there just trying to make a living, while strictly "following rules," so to speak, which means it is not their fault when they do things a certain way.

Then again, always remember that NO ONE can EVER PLEASE everyone! One "bad server" DOES NOT reflect upon the overall goal of the whole staff WORKING THERE FOR YOU, our GUEST! Not every server is good and not every server is bad.

Being a part of the back wait staff, I should know.

The food here is great. Everything I've ever had here has been fresh and tasty. The wait staff is very prompt and courtious as well as well versed on the menu. Parking here can be a hassle, unless you valet. I recommend the lettuce wraps as a starter. They are soooo good.

P.F. Changs is probably one of my top 3 favorite places to dine in the Triangle. I can't get enough of the cool, dark atmosphere and the trendy decor. The staff is always kind and considerate, and service is generally pretty fast (depending on the time of day). Even the pickiest eater will find something on their extensive menu, ranging from traditional Asian fare to some items unique to the restaraunt. When I go there, I usually share a couple of entrees with whoever I'm with (the Orange Peel Chicken and Singapore Noodles are especially good) and opt for dessert (TO DIE FOR Banana-filled Spring Rolls). For a special evening or occasion, the menu also has a long list of mixed drinks and wines, so come thirsty, but drink responsibly! A perfect 10 in my book!

This place is so good! The food is wonderful & reasonable priced. The Lettuce Wraps are my favorite & the dipping sauce is wonderful! I also love the Mongolian Beef dish. The servers are always helpful & attentive. Ive never had to ask for a drink refill while dining here. The ambiance is very nice too.

Ive been here a handful of times for dinner & am always happy with the experience. Lunch is great too.

Highly recommended!

There's nothing like going out for a nice dinner on a saturday evening after a long day of shopping and not only having the "best" chinese food since I moved to Raleigh, but when the waiter is told you have a back problem and he brings you a seat from another chair to use for suppport, now THAT"s customer service! Not only did he make me comfortable, he was fun, and quick to make sure we had all we needed. The food is fresher than fresh and really filled our craving for good chinese! This doggie bag will SURELY get eaten tomorrow!

Great food!!! Always crowded in the evenings, so give yourselves lots of time. The bar is usually hopping, but it's kind of small, so seats are limited. They've got the best mojito's I've ever had!!! Parking is pretty bad at the mall, so use the valet. Really worth it!!!

This place is so YUMMY!
I love their Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Mongolian Beef. Chang's Spicy Chicken is wonderful if you are craving hot and spicy!!!
I have been there when they are both busy and slow. Customer service always comes with a smile and usually a joke or two. If they are a little busy and flustered, I understand because typically they are top notch. The staff is 'young' as you'd expect at a mall location but I think they all aim to do their best.
Maybe you consider this "Americanized" chinese... I am sure you will find something on the menu suited exactly to your taste. If you are judgin your dinner upon the "attitude of the wait staff" let me give you a tip... They are there to serve you, call them (or any other server) as much as you please, enjoy your food and enjoy your company. Do not let any staff at any restaurant ruin your food!

Pros: This food is so good, service is always cordial, bus boys are really cute

Cons: Mall location ~ should be a stand alone restaurant (location doesn't take away from quality of food, though)

P.F. Chang's is a work of art all in itself. The aromas surround you as you enter the large doors. The service is always fantasic and prompt. I am addicted to the crispy chicken lettuce wraps and mongolian beef plate. The shrimp plate is also great. The sauces are prepared at your table by your friendly server. The bustle of people, the din of the room, are all exciting. A great place to go for special events or for any ocassion. Dine in or take out. P.F. Chang's is crowded with a normal wait time of one to one and a half hours so get in early to put in your name. I also heard you can call in your name before arriving. They do not accept reservations. But they should. Try it out! The Social Light

The Kung Pao Scallops are the best plate of scallops in the area and are reasonably priced ($14) when you think of how much scallops usually cost. The lemon scallops are good if you don't like spicy. The PF Chang's Spicy Chicken is very good as is the beef and broccoli. I tired the Orange Chicken and did not like it at all. My wife likes many of the seafood entrees on the menu. The lettuce wraps are very good. There are some cheaper lunch specials, but you have to look carefully at the menu to find them. The service has always been above average. The restaurant at Crabtree has better ambience than the one at Southpointe in Durham, but the food is identical at each place. Try Pei Wei at Brier Creek for PF Changs express dinners. Not quite as good as PF Changs, but worth the cheaper price.

i love pf changs. every time i go the i get the same fantastic quality service and food. anything that i have had that has not been up to par has been immediately taken care with a new entree. i love the wine list and their cocktail menu, try the key lime pie martini. they do all their wines by the GLASS and the bottle!! as fas as all of you complaining about how long the wait is, why don't you do something about it? make a reservation. i have never had to wait more than 10 mins. so why dont all of you do plan a little more in advance and use this to your advantage.

There is absolutely nowhere in the triangle you can go for chinese food that can match this restaurant...the ambience is perfect, the food is delicious...you must make a reservation though if you do not want a long wait...but if you don't, the wait is well worth it....try the Crispy Honey Shrimp....it's heaven...;)

Excellent bartending, excellent food and awesome wait staff. I've only one time had a bad meal here, and they did not charge me for it. I've been to this restaurant more than 20 times and am fully satisfied with the menu. I believe the prices are right. Banana Spring Rolls are awesome! The stuffed wantons for appetizers are off the charts! Try this place if you haven't and you'll find yourself a place to return time and time again.

My new favorite restaurant! I have made several trips recently and found the food to be wonderful. I have yet to try a dish that I did not like. Each dish has its own distinct flavor. It is a taste treat with every bite. The Vegetarian lettuce wraps are very good and I highly recommend the Ground Chicken and eggplant.

The 'PF' must stand for poor food, overpriced but in an artistic setting. My beef a la Sichouan (sic) must have been made with jerky; the server-forgotten hot-and-sour soup was burned (and not very hot); and the brown rice was served as a cold congealed lump. My companion's scallops were good fresh seafood, but the treatment left yet another burned aftertaste on the pallette. The
only redeming factor was an acceptable (although limited) wine list. In short, I've had better chinese in a mall food court. Unless you just have an overwhelming urge to blow 70 bucks on inedible food, avoid this place.

P.F. Chang's offers a variety of great meals and appetizers including their lettuce wraps and lo mein noodles. The last time I was there they listed the carbs, fat, calorie content, etc in a special menu. I especially like their lunch meal because of the prices. I have yet to try their desserts but the chocolate cake looks Wonderful. Expect a LONG wait time for lunch and dinner but that just goes to show how popular the place is. I had good service all times that I have been there. Try the tea with passion fruit!

Never having been to a P.F. Chang's, my friend and I went to the South Pointe one for lunch. Lunch took 1.5 hours, way too long. My order was screwed up twice. The wait staff has no clue as to what the dishes are. The food is more American crap than good Chinese. Since when is corn, lima beans, and shrimp a Chinese dish. And I think Hot and spicy to them refers to the BS they put in the menu. I've had better food, service, and price from a Fatburger joint. Goto Big Bowl across the street, for less money you always get a quality dish.

If you want to "be seen" paying for overpriced mass-merchandised dinner to impress your friends or relatives from out of town with so-so food and snotty service - this is the place! If you want REAL Chinese food, skip out to Brier Creek to New Asia or Peking Garden, or any of the other authentic restaurants. For snob appeal, PFCs can't be beat. For value, taste and service so somewhere else.

It does not feel like a chain at all and it has great cuisine. The service is unmatchable for the price. It seemed as if we had 2 waiters both were very excellent. We usaully have lunch here. The chicken lettuce raps are a must but don't recommend oriental salad unless you want a lot of lettuce. I have not yet tried the banna desert but i think it should be very good. Great for kids or a couple. This is definetly for those who are more in the mood for traditional chinese food.

Numbed-down, blanded Americanized Chinese fair. Fairly loud and rushed, don't plan on staying long or getting too comfortable...
Evidently they don't take reservations, good for them, you'll spend an extra few $ at the bar waiting to just receive one of those pager things. For Asian, I'd stick with some of the local eateries, and smaller venues for more authentic food with character.

Hmm, with so many better choices for Asian/Chinese food in Raleigh, why lower yourself to eating at a mall-based, past-its-prime, Chinese restaurant? We had orange shrimp, which was good but not great, lettuce wraps (can't wait for Cheesecake factory for theirs), and crispy beans - (kind of greasy). Plus the waiter forgot to bring our leftovers to go.
The drink menu is extensive, but stick with wine, as my Manhattan was weak as was unmemorable my wife's Tanqueray and tonic.
The way better choice for fresh authentic Asian food is Five Star in downtown Raleigh. The crispy beans are awesome and FRESH!

Plus the waiter forgot to bring our leftovers to go.

as a chinese student living in the US, I have hard time to find a good chinese resturant offering real chinese food. Well, there is one finally. P.F. Chang is located in the Crabtree Mall. They have wonderful decoration, good service, and their dishes are colorfull and tasty. Reservation is recommend.

A group of us out for my friend's birthday and ended up having to wait until a large table cleared, which took a lot longer than the restaurant expected. Once we were seated, the waiters brought out five free appetizers. The manager came over and apologized for our wait and asked if there was anything he could do. The chef came over and said he would be making a special entree for our table on the house, which we shared and was absolutely fabulous. My dinner was too spicy and they toned it down for me. We asked if they could add one banana roll to a dessert so we would have enough for everyone. They brought us an entire extra plate for free. The manager and chef came over many times to check on us. We could not have had better service and could not have been more pleased.

Yeah, I know this is a chain but it was really good. We were told our wait would be 105 minutes...good thing the mall was right there :) Definitely different - lots of food variety, excellent potstickers - which are always my thing. Good and unobtrusive service. Just all around a good experience.

the atmosphere is very comfortable and "aesthetically pleasing" however there is price to pay: no reservations and be prepared to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. The food is decent. It's not piping hot, but there are a few interesting dishes with a pan asian flavor. if you want authentic chinese, i would not recommend this place. the service is good depending on your luck. sometimes you can get a full explanation of the 4 sauces on the table and other times none. they do not allow you to enjoy your meal according to however long it takes you, but they come to take your plates away even before you might be done eating.

I finally got to try P.F. Chang's with 4 others, and it was the best food I've had in a long time! Each dish had it's own unique twist on an age old Chinese cuisine theme, and each was better than the last. All of us were raving about the food for days! Our biggest complaint however, was the fact that the restaurant was so noisy! We could hardly hear each other over the deafening noise, and unfortunately, we were with folks we haven't seen in over two years, so the noise level was a major problem for us. Our table was also huge, great for fitting plates, but not good for conversation. The person across was pretty far away. Maybe that's why it is noisy...everyone has to shout!

Pros: Food Quality, Service

Cons: Noisy, Tables Too Big

The food was great, but out of the all the things I enjoyed about Changs, my favorite had to be the most handsome looking bus boys I have ever seen in a resteraunt, and such gentleman too. They must breed good looking young men in the back where they cook the rice.

We went with 2 other couples and enjoyed the food but not what I would call authentic Chinese food. Very good quality food but a bit crowded and noisy.

Together with the bar and restaurant set up, the food was exceptional and the service was great. I tip my hat to the barkeep that kept my drink filled and my spirits entertained.

We enjoyed our visit, except for the server's assistant that removed our appetizer before we finished it.

Food was good but very pricey.

This is an ok resturant for "chainfood" Chinese but it is far from the best chinese. You must attend a Chinese estabishment that is actually operated by persons of Asian heritage. Dalat is much better!
