We went to Atrium for care for our dog for about 10 months and despite a few minor issues, we were satisfied until about a month ago. Over time, however, we found that they were slow in responding to our calls and messages. For the price paid, the amount of attention provided was less than satisfactory.

First, I would like to say Dr. Hombs is a brilliant vet and I truly feel like she is the best in North Carolina. Unfortunately, the compliments stop there. If you want prompt responses to your phone calls, or responses at all without having to call three and four times this is not the practice for you.

The front office staff is not helpful and make numerous mistakes. We've had several prescriptions filled incorrectly because the receptionist wrote down the wrong information.

In addition, her assistants, while they are excellent when you are in an appointment with Dr. Hombs are horrible with their call backs. I have an aging pet that I truly believe would not be alive today if it wasn't for Dr. Hombs. As I write this review, I am on my second day, third phone call waiting on someone to get back with me about a prescription refill and information on treatment for my beloved pet. You have to be doggedly persistent and a downright pain to get a response. Unfortunately, this has happened many times before and I will wait until 5:00, not hear from anyone and end up at the emergency vet.

Again, Dr. Hombs is excellent but her practice is terrible. Maybe a strong office manager might help.

After visiting two different vets and the emergency hospital, our 12 year old Weimeraner was returned to us unable to walk at all due to a systemic infection that compromised his neurologic system. We had to support him with a sling so that he could go out to the bathroom. We were told there was nothing more that could be done. My sister, a vet tech in FL, encourage me to try Atrium. I admit that I was skeptical, but after just one visit and accupuncture treatment with Dr. Kim, he was able to walk again and support his own weight. Otto lived another year, enjoying the things he did before he got sick. We continue to use Atrium for all of our pets and will never go anywhere else.

I got to know them pretty well and they got to know me last year when my 12 yr old lab became ill. They recommended both holistic and medical options for treatment and they were very supportive when the prognosis was not good. Unfortunately my dog didn't survive her illness but I feel like she was in the best possible hands. Their generosity and caring made this entire process somehow easier for me. They truly care about their clients and I honestly feel like they miss my little girl too.

They are expensive - but that's the only fault I have with this woman-owned, woman-operated clinic. They are great at exploring natural solutions and remedies, which is a huge help to us. Too bad we moved out of the area and it's not practical for us to continue with them!

I spent $350 and 2 visits to help my dog find peace from itching. It got worse and I emailed (at my vets suggestion if anything needed to be communicated with her) and I telephoned and it is now 24 hours from a weekday telephone call with no answer, so I have to take my dog to another vet as this is now an emergency. I am very unhappy with not being called back as the receptionist promised.

We first went to Atrium when our cat, Molly, of sixteen years was very ill. Although the doctors and technicians did everything they could for Molly, she did not survive her illness. We were so devastated to lose her. This was our first visit to Atrium but everyone there treated us like family and were so sympathetic and kind.

We soon adopted two rescue cats, Georgie and Gracie, and we would not trust anyone else with their care but the kind folks at Atrium. Our cats are very special to us and we feel that everyone at Atrium treats them with such loving care. They even seem to be excited to see Georgie and Gracie each time we visit. If you are seeking an excellent animal hospital to care for your pets, we highly recommend Atrium.

PROS: Kind attentive care, very clean, never have to wait, excellent staff
CONS:
