Comfort homes..Hmm Well I bought in '07, which was peak for home sales. No one was negotiating. Everyone was getting close to asking, within 2K of asking price. Quality, cant really complain, everything in our home is working, nothing seems wrong with the house. Love our neighborhood.. Forest Trails in Fuquay Varina! Everything was an extra, they werent budging with that, (but again different market in '07) But most importantly, our home shows like new, and nothing has gone wrong , 4 years in.Oh and we had an inspection done prior to purchase, and the inspector said it was a well built home ( it was new at the time of inspection and he was hired by me)
We were about to rent a home from them, we had a lease signed and since we live in a different state i had to mail them the signed lease, application fee, and the sec deposit. I had called to inform Pattie that i sent the package nextday delivery and she told me that she had already rented the home to someone else because they had cash on hand! This company is very unprofessional and I would never ever recommend this company to anyone not even my worst enemy!!!

We purchased our home in the Willow Bluff Subdivision in 2005. Comfort Homes, White Realty and everyone involved was polite and professional. All of our concerns were handled promptly. After five years here, the house is holding up extremely well and we love the neighborhood. We would do business with these folks again in a heartbeat. Thank you!
DO NOT BUY FROM COMFORT HOMES!!!!
My house that was built in 2003 in Holly Springs has faulty wiring, plumbing that is not vented properly, and a gas fireplace that was installed dangerously incorrect. I have recently become a general contractor and I don't know how this house passed inspections during construction.
I will NEVER buy another house that was built by Comfort Homes Inc.!!
We recently made an offer on a home in one of their Garner Subdivisions. The offer was countered with a "$5000 discount and $1500 in closing costs". After another counter on our part to try to "meet in the middle", we were told that the builder wouldn't budge on his "final" offer. We accepted his offer of the $5000 off and $1500 in closing costs only to hear back that the $1500 in closing costs was going against the $5000 discount! We had done the research and found that the same builder sold a LARGER house for LESS money and paid closing costs only 3 months before. The builder kept telling us that they don't negotiate sales prices. The broker, Don White Realty, and specifically, Glenda Talton, "misrepresented" the original counter offer and pretty much said "sorry - nothing we can do about it". They also refused to talk to the builder to convey our counter offer over the weekend - we had to wait 3 days for a response that could have saved us time and money. Additionally, they kept referring to an "appraisal" on a previous contract that fell through, saying that our offer was too low because of this appraisal. Any educated individual knows that an appraisal is not necessarily what someone would pay for the house. Our lender was going to require a new appraisal anyway! In today's real estate market, you would think that a builder wouldn't loose a deal with a qualified buyer over $1500 and a flat top range, but this builder did! He has three other completed homes on the same street for sale and one being built currently. I'm sure he's going to love it when he pays the construction loan on these houses for yet another month when one could have been sold by now! This seems like a terrible group to work with overall - watch out for Don White Realty and for Comfort Homes - spend your money somewhere else!
We made an offer on one Comfort Homes properties and was told to come back with a better offer. We did. They came back saying they wanted asking price. We told them they could keep their house. Reason being, we spoke with a person in the neighborhood who says they dropped the price significantly on his home before he made an offer but wouldn't negotiate after that. Sounds to me that Comfort Homes is in trouble and trying to make up where they can for dropping prices on homes they needed to sell. I would never pay full price for one of their homes. We walked through the home and saw so many things that would need to be fixed that it was almost unbelievable. I am glad we didn't buy this home and know we will find something better...even if we don't get the tax credit doing it. Find a better builder. Also, look into the fact that the Realtor selling many of the new homes is the Vice President for Comfort Homes.
Save your money! Read the reviews about Comfort Homes. We lost over $25,000 in value, in just 2 months! After we were told "we do not negotiate", they dropped prices in our neighborhood on existing homes by as much as $28,000. They do not take responsibility for anything and expect the homes to just sell themselves. Instead, the contract with Don White Realty, which in my opinion is a joke as well. They would give home lookers the combination to their lock boxes so they wouldn't have to come out and show the homes. Selection is great out there! Save your money, time, and financial future!

Awful experience with Comfort Homes including the agent who represents them in Clayton Pointe & the builder himself, Julian. I was told that Julian will not change or "fix" basically anything. The reason? Because the homes, even though poor quality, eventually sell because of the low price point. He just sits back & waits for the sales to come across his desk. He doesn't negotiate price & closings must take place within 30 days. Forget about the punch list or any items that come up during inspection - he won't fix them. There's a level of arrogance there & I would not want to give my hard-earned money to such an inflexible, rude person. Don't even waste your time looking at his homes. There's better quality out there & nicer people with which to work.

Poor customer service and in areas, poor workmanship such as code violations that were overlooked by Inspectors - attitude is they continue building because it passed.
Did a presale - they show you models - they do not tell you what is extra in model you viewed - you then build that model and find you do not have what you saw - you ask and are told they can quote you a price. Difficult working with them. Would not ever recommend them to anyone. They seem to think they are doing you a big favor.

We purchased a home from Comfort Homes in Clayton, NC in May 2006, after looking at many newly constructed homes. Looking at a builder's homes while they are under construction can be revealing and beneficial. In our search we found that what you don't see behind the sheet rock can hurt you and many builders were taking shortcuts and making do with obvious mistakes. For the most part, this was not the case with Comfort Homes. The construction was much better than most and on par with homes costing thousands of dollars more. Options for other builders were standard for Comfort Homes. We also had the opportunity to watch the contractors doing the work and we were impressed with the attention to detail and the overall quality of work. We were able to buy much more home for the dollar and we have been very pleased with our purchase after a year.
There have been some issues during the year, which will be true of any newly constructed home. Comfort Homes has always responded quickly and resolved the issue to our full satisfaction. We recently had a Home inspection to identify any issues that need to be addressed under the 12 month new home warranty. While there were issues that we were unaware of, they were all minor in nature. The inspector actually commented that in several areas where he typically finds problems or issues with builders taking shortcuts, Comfort Homes did an exceptional noteworthy job. Another factor in our choosing a Comfort Homes new construction is that in addition to the 12 month builder warranty, the home can with a 10 Year Home Owners Warranty for major systems. All in all, based upon my experience, I would recommend Comfort Homes without reservation.

My husband and I recently purchased a home from Comfort homes in the Fuquay-Varina area. Although we love the home, we have had issues with various items throughout the home and have not gotten the greatest service from Comfort homes "customer service". They have fixed something for us - but other little things we have had to replace or fix ourselves. This being the first "home" we have purchased, perhaps other builders are the same way. I am just not as pleased with this experience as I wish I were. If offered another Comfort Homes home - I am not sure that I would purchase it - or recommend the company.
PROS: A home warantee is provided - could possibly save money on future repairs
CONS: Don't want to take responsiblity for problems that are costly to fix.
