My father lived in the Woodland Terrace complex for approximately six years. It was a fine place for him, with pleasant surroundings, caring people and lots of activities, such as concerts, dinners out at restaurants and shopping trips, to name a few. There were also in-house offerings, such as holiday parties, happy hour, religious services, etc.
He made many dear, dear friends there among the staff and among the residents, his contemporaries.
He started by living in the Independent Living section, but due to health problems later, he moved to Assisted Living, where he found more kind treatment and more friends.
The food was good, but as with any institution, one tired of the same style sometimes. Recently, there has been building going on, which cause a lot of noise and a good deal of inconvenience for the residents.
(It was NOT a nursing home, which would offer round the clock nursing.)
Woodland Terrace is one of the nicest facilities of its kind in the country, and well worth looking into for people aged 70+.
