When living in Boone, we would visit Winston to shop, view art galleries, hang out with friends. Chelsee's was always a popular place to stop. Located in the art district, this coffee shop has a huge artistic flair. Great coffee and other great drinks, and great little pastries! Large size place, with both tables and plush chairs and sofas!
Higher priced than most little coffee shops, but worth it for the environment!

Chelsee's is a trendy, artsy coffee shop and bakery on Trade St. in the Arts district. It's a large space with a comfy sofa area for lounging, and several big wooden tables for eating dessert, studying, reading, or just chatting.

They always have 5 or 6 homemade cakes and pies to choose from, and plenty of good coffee.

I recommend a great afternoon during the winter of gallery hopping (all the galleries on Trade Street are fun, unique, and reasonably-priced) followed by warming up with coffee and cake from Chelsee's.
