This is a traditional Bible based church that preaches the Gospel. This is the best church I have ever attended in terms of being in line with biblical principles. The pastor is a straight up shooter who tells you as it is, occasionally mixing humor through quaint personal stories to bring home the point.
Do not expect the pastor to tell you what you want to hear just to make you feel good, he will not...he will preach the Word.

Although this is technically a southern baptist church, the church welcomes those from all denominations, in fact many members were not baptists before attending. Many are attracted by the focus on the bible and not what "religious traditions" and men teach

The general rule of thumb on this church is this...the bible is truth and denominational created traditions do not matter. The preacher encourages everyone to study the bible on their own and keep him straight.

You should try Wed night bible studies, especially with the head Pastor...very approachable and funny guy.

Only the names are similiar. You have the address correct for Apex First Baptist, but you reviewed Apex Baptist Church in Apex...

If you don't mind being a small fish in a large ocean then this church would be okay for you. The congregation of this church consists of several thousands of people. I have visited this church several times and hardly every see the same people there. Which has not helped me get to know any of the members at all. The pastor seems to be very nice, respectable and knowledgeable. However, he does not preach every Sunday. Sometimes an associate pastor or a guest evangelist delivers the message. There is a large children's church and youth group. They offer many nursery rooms and always have at least 3-4 workers per room. There are two morning Sunday services, an evening Sun. service as well as a Wed. night service. There are also many other activities that are held at this church for fellowship purposes. My main complaint about this church is their process of memebership. You are required to attend a new members class, a counseling type session to make sure you believe the correct doctrine, and you must commit to a Sun. school class. I believe that joining a church should be something that you feel compelled to do not something that you have to be approved for!
