My daughter loved going to the Triangle Metro Zoo!!! She actually enjoyed it more than the zoo in Ashboro. She was able to get closer to the animals, and many times, feed them. Much more interaction with the animals here than in Ashboro. The pony rides were also a favorite of hers. Animals seem to be well taken care of. Highly recommend this zoo!

My favorite zoo. Not to big and not to small. Very homeschool friendly too. Plenty of parking. Lots of hands on for the children. Nice barnyard animals. Plenty of hand sanitizer to use too. Nice nature area. My favorite are the bears. They have picnic tables for picnics! In between Wake Forest and Youngsville. The animals are very well treated.

PROS: a zoo for the family
CONS: dirt trails

Very nice, natural zoo. Animals are scared or out of control. The animals are treated well. Alot of hands on for the children. On the second Wednesday of the month the offer a homeschool class. They have a drawing for a sovenior once a month.Gift shop is a little to expensive. One of our favorite places to go and learn.

Very small zoo, but very cute and fun for a part day trip. The pathways are rocky, kind of hard to push strollers, but still managable. Picnic tables to bring lunches when you are finished. I only saw outhouses for restrooms. Animals are all close up and easy to see and get to.

PROS: small, kid friendly
CONS: kinda pricey, gravel pathway

The Triangle Metro Zoo is kind of hard to find, but it's worth the trip. It's a nice family place. They have lions, tigers as well as smaller animals such as donkeys and wallabees. There is also a picnic area. The staff is questionable. The last time I was there, there was a young teen minding the petting area. She kept trying to give away the baby guinea pigs. They didn't have enough room for all of them.
