I love books and this place has such an amazing atmosphere. The book collection is impressive (especially theology). I visited other famous used bookstores like Powell's or the Strand in NY. But Stevens' place is special to me. Hope you enjoy it as well!

I found them to be quite helpful. It is tipical of the mom and pop bookstore era. It is a bibliophie's heaven. There was no uniformity of pircing. In some instances, it I found the same book in the same condition priced differently. Also when compare to other second market bookstores I found Stevens Books to be a bit pricey.

The reason I give Steven's Book Shop a three-star rating instead of a 4-star rating is because of the customer service. It's not the friendliest, most helpful book store around. Steven is very brusque, and does not go out of his way to make people feel welcomed. (There is no "Welcome to Steven's book shop. How can I help you today?" "Are you looking for something special?") However, the bookstore has tons and tons of used books. You can probably find rare books here, too. Some of the book prices are expensive compared to ordering on Amazon.com. I don't think Steven is aware of Amazon.com prices in comparison to his prices. Can't say it's highly recommended, but definitely worth checking out.

At first glance, Steven's used book store is a bit...overcrowded. The bookstore (staffed by Steven himself) has books piled floor to ceiling. Some aisles are even so full that they are impossible to look down for a book, and Steven has no real database of what's available. Steven does has a good selection of autographed, and first editon collector books, so if your a collector his shop is worth a try.
