Salon 21

I moved from Charlotte, NC two years ago and was looking for a stylist in Raleigh. I tried a few other salons that I will not name, but was not happy. I found Salon 21 through Citysearch and chose them because they carried products I used. Cameron was the stylist assigned to me. I gave her a general description of what I wanted and she nailed it! The cut and style were perfect and she is so friendly. I of course returned to get my hair colored, she offered professional advice and suggestions but always listened to what I wanted. The result was fabulous. Cameron goes out of her way to please you with very reasonable prices. Now my whole family goes to Salon 21 including my mother who drives 2 1/2 hours to see her. Salon 21 is full of wonderful people who are always friendly and professional. The Salon is very relaxing and tastefully decorated in a beautiful part of the city. Go see Cameron today, you won't be disappointed!!!

I had bleached, burnt, stressed hair and a BAD, BAD haircut! I called Manuel, and explained to him my dilemma and desires. He eased my nerves and made me feel comfortable in his chair. He foiled my highlights VERY fast - might I add, we talked and chatted (he has a great personality) and before I knew it "VIOLA!" it was time to process! He even threw in a free conditioning treatment, because he had to cut another client for a few minutes. This is what I call REALLY caring about your clients! At the end of it all, I walked out of that salon THRILLED with my new look! The color was even better than I'd imagined, the cut was AWESOME and my hair felt the best it has in years, thanks to the treatment! Bottom line - I L-O-V-E this salon, and Manuel has a client for life!! Did I mention that it was reasonably priced????? YEP!! GO SEE MANUEL...YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Pros: A great stylist who is a true artist with vision!

When I came to Salon 21 I needed a change for my hair but didn't know exactly what. Cameron gave me a great new cut and fabulous highlights without me having to describe to her exactly what I wanted. I just gave her some ideas of what I did and didn't like and she took it from there. For over a year now I've been going to Cameron and have never been anything but thrilled with the results. Cameron is by far the best hair stylist I've ever had!

I have enjoyed working with Natalie in the past, as she understood my hair better than anyone. She is no longer working there and they will not tell me where she went. Does anyone know what salon Natalie is working at now?

Finally somebody that listens!!!!
I have been searching for a stylist for years and I finally found her. My friend recommended Talia at Salon 21 to me. I went and saw and for the first time in years I walked out of a salon happy!!!!:)

After living here for two years and having difficulty finding a great hairdresser, I found the best! I went there for my first visit on September 24th, and had hair designer Talia, she did a fantastic job, she listened, cut and style for a very REASONABLE price and worth every penny! As I have found being from Illinois, hair maintenance in Raleigh/Cary is extremely high! This salon ROCKS! I'll be returning for my cut and color next!

Salon 21 is AMAZING! I've been getting my hair done here for almost 3 years. The staff is very friendly and energetic. The location is convenient. And the prices are SO reasonable, definitely worth every penny. I highly recommend this salon to EVERYONE!!!

I received a cut and highlight at this salon. The staff was friendly and the highlights were fine. But the cut /style was awful. And it is the cut that will not go away! I have been to several other salons to have them fix what was done at this salon. It was uneven in spots and cut very strangely. A stylist who saw this mess, asked me what the stylist was thinking when she cut it. I am sure there are some good stylists at Salon 21, but I will never go back again and risk this same thing happening. Do not waste money here - you will regret what is done to you. I am withholding the stylist's name, but if a salon has someone on staff this horrible, I doubt any of them are worth the money.

I love Salon 21.I have been going to Salon 21 for over 5 years. Not only do you get the best hair services available in Raleigh...you also get a great friendly staff that always treats you like family. I have had a number of Salon 21 stylist work on my hair over the years. They never disappoint! Toni (owner) is still my favorite though... I can't say enough! Thanks girls !!!

This salon is amazing! The salon is not only beautiful, the stylists are so friendly, and I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. The receptionist immediatly asked if I would like a drink and noticed that I seemed to be a little harried. She commented that now I could just relax and get pampered. I had the best haircut and color I have ever had and I have been all over the world. I had been traveling back to Miami for my hair but a friend suggested that I give Salon 21 a try. My stylist Toni was so knowledgeable and professsional. She took the time to find out what I wouldn't like and made suggestions. My highlights are incredible, and my cut is chic and fabulous! I also came away with the knowledge of how to repeat my style at home and what products would be best for me. I highly reccommend Salon 21. They are wonderful!!

Upon moving to Raleigh from Florida in 2001 I immediately embarked on a search for a hair stylist that would be able to exceed my expectations of my former hair stylist or at the very least copy their work. After trying a countless number of salons I have finally found (7 years later!) an extremely talented stylist at Salon21 by the name of Talia. I was originally scheduled for a haircut but asked her when I arrived if she had any time for a color. She did and choose a color that I am thrilled with! I had been coloring my own hair since I was unable to find a good colorist and basically stumbling around when it came to a good cut. I am a hair and makeup artist for special events so I will say that I am somewhat picky when it comes to hair. Talia has made me very happy. :)

Fantastic haircut as well and she very pleasant to be around and extremely professional. I highly recommend Talia and look forward to our next appointment! :)

Natalie is the best hair stylist around at Salon 21. I have been going there for almost two years and have never been disappointed. I will not go anywhere else. I have tried all of the rest...now I am with the best! Not only does she make your hair look perfect, but she always has a smile on her face and is very polite and courteous. Exceptional Salon with the highest recommendations!!

From my experiences with Salon 21, I would say that if you want good service, friendliness, professionalism, respect, honesty, and fairness, do not go there. With so many great salons in Raleigh, I would strongly recommend that you do not choose Salon 21.

Sounds silly, but I drive all the way from my home in Charlotte to get my hair cut at Salon 21. Jennifer is great !!! She's consistant, but never boring with her cuts/color, or personality. Toni, the owner did my hair for my wedding and it looked perfect (and I'm really picky !!!). So definitely check them out. BTW. They carry Pureology hair products too. For those of you not in the know, this stuff is liquid gold for hair.

Pros: Awesome talent. Great product line.

Cons: Occasional parking issues, but better than any other Downtown salon. Vanity has its price.

Stephanie cut my hair and it is definitely the best haircut I have gotten in a long time. She listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me some suggestions-all which ended up in a cute stylish cut that is easy to manage. The prices are SO reasonable. I will recommend Salon 21 and Stephanie to my friends. Thanks for a great experience and a fabulous haircut!

I think Salon 21 is okay. A bit pricey but that's expected for a downtown, hip salon. Unfortunately their best stylist, Sonya has moved down the street to The Birdcage. They definitely lost an asset right there.

As a teacher, my salary is mostly consumed with fixed expenses, but I've always been known for my hairstyles. Therefore I am very choosy about my stylist. I honestly cannot rate the work of any stylist but Andrea. I found her my first visit to Salon 21 and hope I never have to find another stylist. She's the greatest! I always receive complements on her cuts, and her color. My only concern is working the price into my small variable budget. Forty dollars for a cut may seem small for some, but as a teacher, its a stretch, especially if I need color and a cut.
Overall, the prices at Salon 21 are very reasonable and a great value for the service if you can afford it.

I had just moved to the area when i began searching for a salon to chop off my waist-length super-thick hair and style it. I was nervous but soooo lucky to find Salon 21. The atmosphere is clean cut and simple, the staff was nice and not snotty. Sonya was wonderful and I was extremely pleased with my cut. I have found my salon in the area. If you want a good haircut you pay for it so I didn't think the price, around $40 was too much, especially when others have "long hair" charges that would have cost me much more.

Natalie and Amanda are fun and knowledgeable - I get to enjoy the front view and get an expensive-salon quality haircut... without the expense! I'm going to make an appt right now!

Salon 21 is awesome! I was so scared to cut off my hair (it'd been long for years) so I went in with trepidation. I had a picture of what I wanted and the stylist they reccomended for me (Natalie) was perfect. She was very nice, very skilled, and calming for me and my hair. I lost 8 inches and gained a whole new attitude!
