I went to Southern Exposure yesterday for the first time in a while. I had been once a few months ago since they had changed their name. I was a regular at Planet Beach, but found they have such a rude staff especially at the Cary Park Salon. So, I need a light tan before I go to the beach this weekend and decided to stop in there. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Bed was very clean, room was extremely neat and I could tell that their bulbs are kept up too. I was very happy with them and will continue to go!!!

I am the new owner and this client is upset because I would not allow her to pay her monthly tanning membership with bonus bucks that are issued to clients to use for upgrades, tanning products, etc in the salon. I politely told her our policy, and showed her a copy of her signed contract that states exactly what I just said. Bonus bucks are thank yous to the clients, not money to be used to pay your bill. I would go out of business if I gave away free tanning memberships. This client came in to confront me about this one night with her two kids, screaming at me and telling me that she could not tan anymore with kids and that she could not pay her car payment now that I drafted her monthly membership. I did offer her any product she wanted in exchange for the bonus bucks, but she kept arguing and causing a scene to the point that I felt threatened and did ask her to leave. She is very unstable and making false statements here. I will gladly show anyone the contract that was signed. I am fair to all clients and did not change the memberships at all when I purchased th salon.

I would not reccomend this tanning salon to anyone. It has changed management in the last year. I have been a member since 2006 and I enjoyed it with the old owners but the owner now is terrible. She would not only honor the agreement that I had made with Sunnyside on using my "bonus bucks" toward a month of tanning but her employee told me that I could do that and that no more money would be deducted from my account. She told them later that it could not be done and no one bothered to call me to let me know. I went in to dicuss it with Sheri and she was was extremely nasty to me and threatened to call the cops on me so I would leave. I was not raising my voice or anything. I was just disagreeing with her. She did this in front of my kids too. The management in this tanning salon has no clue what running a business entails. I would not waste my money there when there are plenty of other good salons out there.

The salon has gone downhill as far as cleanliness, beds never seem to be cleaned, customer service not very friendly, and there has been several occasions the salon was never opened or an employee hasn?t shown up for their shift.
