None of the staff seemed invested in really providing a good experience for the customer. They were nice enough, but the food took forever to come out and they brought the wrong food to the table. When they returned with the right dish, it was burnt.

They are running at $10 dinner menu on their website, which they were not going to honor "because they weren't running that special anymore." You can't do that. Somebody in our party eventually argued with them enough that they honored it for our check only.

Also, half of the menu at this Greek restaurant is Italian. Not sure what is going on here.

Love the buffet and the entrees when it's a good day. We loved Greek food so much we'd eat here every week. On occasion, the food in the buffet was not of the quality we had grown accustomed to. Since then, those times where the buffet was less than expected started to become a regular occurrence, we have stopped going and make Greek food at home now.

Spartacus Restaurant has absolutely delicious food. Ask your server for recommendations because I've never been disappointed that way. The steak is absolutely melt-in-your-mouth and the hummus is amazing.

So first let me qualify my experience at Spartacus. On Valentine's day I made reservations there at 5 pm ath 7pm, because I had dropped the all, but atleast I was able to make the reservation. First the outside apperance isn't all that great, but if there was some nice landscaping it would look a lot better. The inside decor is nothing special, but I certainly wouldn't complain about it. Now before I went i previewed the menu online, but because of the holiday they had a limited menu. We got the fried calamari as the an appetizer and it was average nothing that special it was addequate. For a limited menu the service was still quite slow. I got the lobseter ravioli which was amazing. While my significant other got a greek sample type plate which is also quite good. I don't say I'm an expert on greek food but it was good to me. It was a little pricey, but you know i belive you get what you pay for.

The best things I have had at this place have always come at the recommendations of the people who work there or from the specials listed on their wall, so look there first. Be sure not to pass up when they have slow roasted lamb as the special, it is delicious.

While they have great food, this is not the place to take parents or a boss you are trying to impress, since they are next door to and Adam & Eve store.

We just tried Spartacus for the first time and very much enjoyed it. We are new to the area (moved from LA, which is one of the best cities for great food), and this is the third mediterranean restaurant we tried in the triangle.

Spartacus is not the most hip restaurant with trendy decor. It even looks kind of dumpy from outside. Therefore, if you are the type of person who likes flashy new looking things, this would not be a right place. However, it has its own characteristics, and they serve very good *comfort* food. Some people said that it's expensive, but I don't think that's true. Most dishes come with salad or soupe, and the bread they serve is delicious. If you are willing to spend 15-18 dollars per person, you would be stuffed.

What we really liked about this place is that this is the type of restaurant that attracts al kinds of 'everyday' people. Customers around us were quite diverse- from young student looking people to older couples of all races.

Among other mediterranean restaurants, I like the food served by the restaurant on Franklin street (downtown chapel hill) more, but it could just be my taste.

Pros: Fresh ingredient, good comfort food.

Cons: Obsolete decor, the price could be better for the ambience.

Spartacus Restaurant has delectable Greek Food. Their Gyro Greek Salad and Greek Chicken pizza is great! When you walk inside you are reminded very quickly that this is a Greek restaurant by it's decor. Good Eating!

My experience at Spartacus is during the day and it is a great place to enjoy great Greek food. The buffet, available everyday, offers a real variety of traditional Greek food including Greek Salads, Falafel, Olives, Grilled Portobello Mushrooms, chicken parmesian, spinach spanakopita, tzadziki, and a bunch of great tasting stuff that I have no idea what it is called.

The bottom line is the buffet is a GREAT deal, I think I usually get out for $10 or so and I always get way more than my money's worth. But even more important than that is that the buffet gives you a chance to try different Greek specialties that you might not otherwise choose to try. Greek food is great anyway. I'm no expert in Greek cuisine, but Spartacus really is a great restaurant to me. I highly recommend it!

I went here with my Meetup dining out group, and I have to say it was a most memorable experience for me... The food was incredibly delicious... I got the buffet, and could not believe the quality of the food.... Everything was absolutely delicious... I had a pasta dish with shrimp and feta and tomatoes that was absolutely the most delicous dish I have ever had in a restaurant... I had mussels in garlic sauce that was excellent also... I tasted everything on the menu and was not disappointed with one thing on the menu...It was ALL exceptional... The food is FAR above any that I have had in any other Greek restaurant anywhere...

The staff was attentive and very friendly, and I really enjoyed my dinner there... I have been telling EVERYONE about how fantastic this restaurant is...

No wait, excellent food, friendly staff and reasonable prices works for me!

I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant... I can't say enough good about it!

With respect to earlier review(er)s, I don't know Chicago, but I do know Greek food, and this place isn't all it's been said to be. Dishes have been consistently weakly prepared and uninspired, and some (especially if they're from the much-touted "buffet") have been downright bad. Service is inattentive, and sometimes even vaguely hauty, leaving one to wonder what in the world there is to be hauty about.

Some night when the wait at other South Square restaurants is an hour, why not try Spartacus, right across from Macaroni Grill where you can get in right away. The staff is super friendly, the food is excellent (try the rice pudding) and the atmosphere is cozy and colorful. At lunch there is a great buffet. Children are treated with respect too. Parking is ample. The price is a little high but not really considering the quality of the food and service.

I moved from Chicago where we have a Greek town where all the food is good. My experience at Spartacus was just as good as in Chicago. The Gyros were excellently cooked, as was everthing on the lunch buffet. All you can eat, and believe me, you want to eat more and more!

We had our Departmental Holiday Party for Duke University at Spartacus. The food was bountiful and superb! As the event planner for the group (250 people!), I was showered with compliments (which belong to Spartacus!) The service was FIVE STAR. The STAFF was AMAZING. We look forward to using them for catering during the year. Along with looking forward to future parties there! On top of great food, the atmosphere is TRENDY! Thanks! Janice B.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Triangle. The food is excellent from the items offered on the menu to their buffet they have periodically. If you like Greek food at all, I would highly recommend this place.
