We eat breakfast at Boardwalk at their outdoor tables frequently when we are in Beaufort. It's a family tradition to eat there right after the Beaufort running race. I'd say we've eaten there maybe 30 - 40 times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We've never had a bad experience. Omelets, hamburgers are great. My kids enjoy their breakfast bar. We'll be out there the week after Easter and plan on stopping by.

We had the tuna salad and scallop burger and they were great. Great view of the waterfront, friendly staff, good prices.

I really like the chicken salad on the croissant. It's a cute place, great location and one of my favorite lunch spots in Beaufort.

We dined at the Boardwalk Cafe for Sunday Lunch and the experience was terrible. The major issue was the serving of spoiled hamburger. Shortly after we ordered the table beside us sent their burgers back as the "meat was bad". We questioned the waitress whether we should order something else and she assured us there was no problem. The burger came for our daughter and it was terrible. They acted like they were doing a favor by not charging us but offered nothing else. Another table also sent their burgers back but amazingly they still kept pushing as the special.

What else....iced tea was so devoid of taste we sent back. The waitress forgot the orders of fries and brought after the meal was almost over. The fish on the fish sandwich barely covered the bun.
Service in general was nice but poor. The response to serving spoiled meat was unacceptable.

This is a very old and quaint little soda shoppe. It's smack dab in the middle of some pricey restaurants. So instead of paying for dessert at those pricey places, we walk along the water front (they've got a boardwalk now) and then stop in for a nice ice cream cone and to browse the shop. We come here at least once a year 'just because'. It's a nice change of pace in an ice cream shoppe. People that run it are nice and give great service.
