Our daughter stayed at PC this year. Started off badly with a old bed with broken springs, broken dryer - for which they charged overages. They blamed my daughter and roommates for graffiti found near their hall. The old management company at least made attempts to work with the kids. The new management company will not. My daughter was out of town and did not pay rent on time, mailed it in along with late fees - this was not received by the office, who decided that immediately on the 15th, they would go out and file in small claims to get the rent...which my child was trying to pay to them! So in June, they filed FOR Junes rent, while IN June, my daughter was trying to PAY them and they would not accept it. They would rather get the same amount of money- yet have the student pay an additional $129.00 in court fees plus waste their time, the kids time, the courts time, and the sheriffs time. They are a real classy group. Do yourself and your child a favor, rent somewhere else and save yourself the aggravation.

I have lived at Pirates cove for 3 years now and I love it. Sure occasionally you hear a loud party but its Greenville, besides you can always call the office and they send someone out to quiet the party. I have never felt unsafe here at pirates cove. They have cops here to make you feel better though they aren't really needed. They havfe all sorts of stuff to do like pool parties, cook outs and Zumba. The list of things to do goes on for a while though. I have never had bugs either which is great. For the low price it really is amazing how awesome this place is. I highly recommend at least coming and taking a look at the apartments.

Make sure that you take pictures of all the damages, because they will charge you for them wehn you move out and send you a letter that they will turn you into collections and ruin your credit if you do not pay. The carpets were nasty and they said they would replace them. All 4 of us got a letter stating that we owed them 550 each for the carpet replacement. The cigarette butts must be another scam because they did the same to us too, we offered to pick them up but they still charged us a fine. It was our neighbors above us that had a party and were throwing the butts out. If you rent here, make sure you know what you are getting into. I think they must do this alot to get extra money for the repairs that never take place.... I wonder how many times/years they charge for the carpets? Take pictures and even if the stained dirty carpet is on the lease when you sign in they will charge you when you move out. I guess they think that parents will pay this so they won't be hassled or ruin their credit. It is a scam. I doubt anyone has ever received their deposit back. They probably spent it the day they got it instead of it being held in escrow.

I have been staying at Pirates Coves so far for 4 years and I have enjoy the experience. The office staff are very friendly and if you need anything they will help you out with your problem. However if your looking for single apartment this isn't the place because you will have roommates. The rent is very reasonable and internet/cable are included. This is mostly a apartment that caters to the college astompshere. If you don't have a problem with that then this is the place for you.

Pirates Cove, The Cove, Cove no matter how you say it, it's an awesome place to live! I have had the pleasure of living here for 2 awesome years and I have loved every minute. I remember when I was first moving out of the dorm and looking to live off campus, Pirates Cove was my first choice and I was sold after a great tour. I know my financial situation, and even if I had the means to spend 400+ on an apartment I would still live here and save some extra cash. After becoming a resident coming "home" felt great. The staff is great, the property is kept up, and I have had not one issue that couldn't be fixed. I highly reccomend living here! Come check it out and see for yourself :)

The staff in the office are great. They create a personal relationship with you and make you feel that you are a important part of the apartment complex. I was looking for am apartment complex that understands the needs of a college student and that will work with you if there are any issues and i have found that at p cove. I would tell anyone looking for community living to come here because i have not had one problem with the staff or the living conditions yet.

I have lived at Pirate's Cove Apartments for 2 years and I am completly satisifed with the services they have provided to me. I decided to have a random roommate assignment and after I filled out the roommate profile, Pirate's Cove assigned me with three awesome girls! They have become my best friends, and if it wasn't for Pirate's Cove, I wouldn't have ever met them. In addition to my awesome roomies, I love how the office management organizes events for residents to participate in. I have done bingo, entered into raffles, got free food, t-shirts, other goodies, and have so much fun mingling with other residents. I am sad to say that this is my last year with Pirate's Cove because I am graduating from East Carolina University in May but I would reccommend Pirate's Cove to any and every student. It's a home away from home for me and I am so happy that I chose to live here. Not to mention, it's one of the cheapest places to live in Greenville... I mean you can't beat it! Thanks P Cove for everything you have done! <3

hey people, its greenville. GREENVILLE, the city itself is just a cluter f***. If you are worried about burgalaries, etc. than you must lack common sense, maybe if you had locked your doors, kept valubles out of your car at night, and (now this is big for ECU students) but remain in a large group while drinking and come home a little earlier than when the creeps come out.Pirates Cove is a nice and affordable place with just as good of amenities as any other place. Maybe they dont have the biggest pool parties in town, but is that worth a 200 dollar difference. Maybe to some, but most of us have our head in reality rather than reality television. The staff there is exceptional and always helps to the best of their abilities. But do keep in mind that if you go in there with a bad or rude attitude, you set yourself up for a less than pleasable response. The rooms are exactly How I had seen them in the model as well as the furniture.

Worst place to live ever. They keep calling and accusing me of having people living here with my when my friends come over and they don't even spend the night. They tried to charge me for cigarettes off the balcony. I, not my friends smoke cigarettes. They didn't even clean this placed before we moved in. Needless to say there is mold and dust everywhere. We pay utility overages alll the time! Roommate matching is awful. They expect to throw you in a rat hole and you pay for every little thing. And the management is rude and SLOW! I've never dealt with dumber people. Don't live here at all.

Just moved my son in from Colorado. He is allergic to smoke and they placed him with smokers! It also had a hole in the wall (size of a basketball), black stained carpets, and some baggy on the coffee table that looked like marijuana. They placed him in another room with another smoker and cockroaches. He is terrified of this place, but they won't let him out of his lease. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

Shut up, you whining losers. Pirates Cove is like any other apartment complex. It is only as good as its clientele. And your messages indicate you people are the absolute bottom of the barrel. Pirates Cove is well rid of you.

Bugs, Burglaries, Blacks?
Bugs - you brought them with you. Those are normally the people who complain the loudest about bugs. Everyone else knows how to get rid of them.

Burglaries - Stop being stupid. You leave personal belongings in your vehicles anywhere in this country, you are inviting a break in. Besides, your windows were probably smashed because you parked you car so as to take up two parking spaces. You stupid drunk.

Blacks - It is the year 2010. Your President is Black! You have NOTHING any Black person could possibly want. Look under your best friend's sheet for your priceless treasures.

Pirates Cove is a well run student housing community. The staff is polite and efficient. I noted exceptions on the inspection checklist when moving my daughter into the complex and all of the repairs were completed within 2 weeks.

Pirates Cove is not safe I am a 21 year old female and my roommate, myself, and 4 of our guy friends were jumped by 15 black guys when we returned from downtown. They surrounded our car harassing us girls and when they were told to stop they got VIOLENT! As far as the office and apartments go, the apartments are crap I woke up with spiders crawling on me, so maintenance came with Raid for roaches (not helpful at all..considering we did not know where the spiders came from). The office staff are just basically RUDE! Yea its a cheap place to live, but not worth the trouble. O' yea the new furniture is not leather, it is "pleather" and terribly uncomfortable!

I haven't moved into my apt at Pirates Cove but as of right now they haven't been anything but helpful. I recently signed a lease and go a tour of the whole facility. From what I have seen it's very clean, I didnt see any bugs outside or inside. People come on now, you act as if a college student is going to spend much time in the kitchen cooking. Never-the-less all 4 people being in there at the same time. My friends hardly ever stay at their apt other than sleeping. Also I asked to see another apartment close to the "show room" apt and it was just as clean if not cleaner than the other. It also had all new leather furniture. I honestly don't know about the crime that happens but hey...crime happens every where! Not even police can stop it from happening.

I currently live in Pirates Cove. I really regret the decision to live here. Ive had many problems. first off management really does suck. Everytime i put in a work order it takes forever for them to get out here to fix it. Our floors are disgusting. it amazes me that just because we have three renewal people staying in our apartment next year that they only cleaned the carpet in the empty room, what about the rest of the house. The walls are nasty. the kitchen is super small esp for 4 people. My alarm system doesnt work. and beeps constantly but of course you cant get them out here to fix it. My bed was broke when i moved in in may and yet i still havent got a new bed. The bugs are really bad insisde and out, i still had them even after they came and sprayed. and my apt is clean so thats not the problem. its hard to arrange the furniture in the living room because the room is very odd shaped. I could keep goin. Most recently while they where in and out doing repairs etc,for the new tenent my digital camera was stolen which really upsets me bc i had valuable pics up there of me and my family that i can never get back. It reallyt goes to show that your belongings are not safe. I never feel safe in my apt at night and sleep with my bedroom door locked every night. I wouldnt suggest pirates cove to anyone uness you absolutely have to live out here.

You do get what you pay for. Although this is the cheapest place in Greenville, it is nasty! And management stinks. Everything is not included! Utility overages average about $25 extra bucks a month per tenant. Think about it, at $360 per bedroom at 4 bedrooms per apartment, that is $1440 per month - outrageous in Greenville, especially for a nasty apartment with broken appliances on the day you move in!!! It took us 6 months and a dozen workorders to get a dryer that works, and the washer is still broken. The place is full of drugs and drug dealers as well. Would not recommend to anyone, ever!

I can't wait to get out of this hell hole! My car was also broken into WITH THE DOORS LOCKED! And I live right next to the neighborhood officer. My car alarm went off for at least 20 mins while the man sat in my car. Never once did the officer come out to check on the situation. Yes we got new furniture, but that does not make up for the nasty carpet and ugly walls.Yes, the gym was made over but SO many people live here the gym is always full and so is the pool when it is warm. I saw the bad reviews before I moved in and thought maybe it will be different. It all depends on what you do with your apartment. I wish I never moved here! Everyone in the office is rude and unhelpful except for Anna Weeks. Erin Williams and Erika are the worst! The price is the only good point. It's very cheap. But then again having to pay to replace the broken lock and window in my car was not worth it.

When youre paying $320 a month dont expect a damn ritz-carlton type place. Its great for the average penis college kid and is a kick ass place to party. If you plan on penis living at the cove, try to get in phase 1, because scrotum phase 2 is really crappy and has alot of sketch ass blacks walking around stealing shiit and breaking into cars. Lock your doors up niggaa. If you dont want to be paying rent out the ass, pirates cove is the shiit.

Pirates Cove is a very unsafe place to live. There is absolutely no security even though they claim to have a couple of courtesy officers living on site. We have been broken into a couple of times with lots of things stolen. The apartments look nothing like the models that you are shown when looking at the place. Upon moving in, our apt. was quite run down with many repairs needed. They will tell you that there is not much crime on their site, but all you need to do is look on the City of Greenville police website and look under neighborhood crimes and will see a list of apt. sites. Just click on Pirates Cove and you will see about 24 pages of crime. If we had done our homework before moving here, we never would have moved here. DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU WANT TO STAY SAFE AND HAVE NO WORRIES.

I currently live in Pirates Cove, and reading posts from other people...I have NO IDEA what they are talking about! Seriously. They just renovated EVERYTHING, the gym, the clubhouse, and gave us new leather furniture! And the tanning beds work fine, because me and my roommates tan! The staff is very helpful and nice, and the price is affordable. A lot of the apts including mine, got new carpet and paint over the past summer. Oh, and the gym is now VERY VERY NICE! :) :) I recommend living here definitely!

I live at Pirate's Cove and I would recommend this apartment complex to my friends. The price is very affordable and everything is included. They recently renovated the fitness center and I love to use it now! It is just as good as the ECU rec center, but right at my apartment. The office staff is very friendly and they are always having little events for the residents with free food. I feel safe at the apartment complex and I do not put myself in dangerous positions. I use the alarm system and live right next to a Greenville police officer. I pay my own rent and I am very happy with my decision to live here. I have met lots of friends here and I plan to renew my lease and move in with some of the people I met. For those of you writing bad reviews, you probably couldn't be pleased anywhere. For those of you shopping around, I say you should check out Pirate's Cove!

BUGS, BURGLARY, AND BLACKS. 3 of the most common things at Pirates Cove. We have had about 10 gigantic roaches in our apartment. After calling maintenance they said the bugs were drawn toward sweet smelling rooms and there was nothing they could do. My car was broken into twice in broad daylight already after only living here 3 months. The amount of sketchy black people here is crazy. There is so much gang activity it is VERY scary. They promise you all these things when you move in and then none of them are true. The pool is green year round, the one tanning bed is never open and there are never programs like they said there would be. The management is very unhelpful and charge you for everything. Upon moving in they said we would never go over our utility bill but we've had to pay every month. Even though we don't run the a/c and we have energy efficient light bulbs. While the apartment is large the carpet is nasty and there are stains all over it and the furniture. The kitchen is ridiculously small for 4 people even if you don't cook. Theres no place for food and dishes. Our ice maker, washer, dryer, dish washer, alarm system, and fire alarm systems were all broken/ have broken since we moved in. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!

I have lived in Pirates Cove for just this year and unfortunately have to stay for the summer as well. The show room for the apartment is very nice but when i moved into mine it was disgusting. There were bugs throughout the apartment and outside. All of the living room furniture is broken and torn apart. There are always atleast 10 roaches outside on our porch and atleast 2 or 3 in the living room. There is only two of us in a 4 bedroom apartment which is nice bc there is barely enough kitchen space for the two of us. When we moved in there were lots of things broken such as the freezer door shelf, all fire alarms, disposal, and the alarm system didnt even work. It took them almost 3 months for someone to actually come and fix the alarm and 2 months for the rest. We had to hastle them to finally get some action. There is no security and always crime. If you don't believe me look it up. Pirates Cove has the highest crime rate. Even the police officer that lives here got jumped. We are right beside the ghetto and even tho they put up a stone wall there are constantly ppl jumping it. THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUS! DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!!! I am paying my own rent which is why i chose here but i dont mind paying a little extra money if it means i will live in a safer place with a better facility. The sooner I can get out of here the better!

I just moved out of Pirates Cove and I feel as if that was the best thing i have done in a long time. I had a rat in my apartment earlier this year and they did not even call a exterminator, they called maintenance who put down sticky traps and that did not work. In the meantime the rat snacked on everything he could get his paws on. The management likes to collect money and when you have a serious problem with your apartment and roommates the only thing they can suggest is moving to another apartment with a transfer fee of like $300. I would not recommend moving to Pirates Cove unless you ABSOLUTELY cant find anything else. Greenville has plenty of affordable apartment communities and if this means anything to you, you will choose one of those!!

I do NOT reccomend living in Pirates Cove unless you're strapped for cash. You pretty much get what you pay for. It's dirty and you would think they would want to do something about the BUGS! I know they're water bugs but they look like roaches!!! And they're HUGE!! Their not only all outside but they get in your apartment too! It's discusting. I've lived in two other apartment complexes in Greenville and have NEVER had the same problems with bugs as I have while living in Pirates Cove. And as for the crime rate, it's awful! I don't feel safe walking out to my car in the daytime let alone at night. It seem like every other day when I'm on my computer I get a pop up from ECU saying there was an armed robbery in Pirates Cove. If you ask me the whole place needs to be bulldosed and rebuilt. The amenities can't even compete with other apartment complexes in the area. The pool in phase 2 wasn't even open until July this summer b/c it was sooo dirty and GREEN! Pirates Cove is discusting...enough said!

If you're strapped for cash, then Pirate's Cove is a good price. But what you pay is what you get. First of all, because rent is so cheap, you get a lot of sketchy tenants. We're kept up by ridiculously loud base at three in the morning, there are always people yelling and being obnoxious outside in the courtyards and hallways, and there is a lot of crime. We got broken into earlier this year. Second, there is a lot of space, but the quality of everything is low. The carpet and furniture are cheap, and I even had to move out of my first room because mold started to grow on all the walls. Lastly, management and maintenance have free reign on your apartment. They don't have to let you know when they are coming. My roommate once had some random worker walk into her bedroom while she was asleep. So only live here if you have too.

I have lived here (pirate's cove) for about 5 months now and I don't think it's quite as bad as that one comment. I haven't witnessed or experienced any violent acts. I think it's very convenient and it's a fun place to live.

The price is good.... especially for students that have to pay their own rent and go to school also. And as far as the comment goes about the crime... that is absurd. Don't put yourself in those situations.... simple as that. Everywhere you go... there is a chance of something happening especially in larger cities. Don't go outside by yourself after dark, have someone walk in with you if your coming in by yourself.

The title speaks for itself. I lived at Pirate's Cove for two years, the first year went smoothly- the second year they came under new management (which is the present management). I wouldn't recommend living there if my life depended on it. Not to mention the numerous violent attacks that have been taking place in Pirate's Cove (kinda makes my last sentence seem more important and slightly ironic). Do yourself a favor and DO NOT live in Pirate's Cove- you WILL regret it.

This apartment is designed specially for ECU students. The building looks like new and very clean from both inside and outside. They have free fitness room, basketball and tennis field. Rent is about $560 per person for share of three bedrooms. The transportation to campus is convenient. Special school bus commutes to campus every half hour from 8:00am to 9:00pm.
