THIS FLORIST DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON MY ORDER. I HAVE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS, AND I FIND THEM VERY DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE. Ii HAVE BEEN USING THIS FLORIST FOR 8 YEARS, AND ALL OF THEIR WORK WAS ABOVE EXPECTATIONS. I THINK THIS DISGRUNTLED PERSON IS NOT TELLING THE WHOLE TRUTH.

I was the recipient of two gift baskets that including shipping, cost a total of $150.00. Instead of filling the baskets with the name brands advertised online, this merchant instead drives to the local dollar store a few blocks away from their location and fills the baskets with generic brand junk sold between $1.00 and $1.50 each. I know this because the stickers on the items gave the exact name of the dollar store. I went there and priced every item. In one basket sold for over $45.00, the items totaled $15.00. This did not include the delivery charges as some of the goods were to be shipped to the florist from the gourmet company but this did not happen. Instead, Flowers by the Neuse bought items from the dollar store for their gift baskets that are not even close to what is advertised. They then hide behind their "Substitution Policy". If you live in Clayton and someone wants to send you a gift basket online, make sure they verify it is not being processed through this florist unless you don't mind an overpriced gift basket filled with dollar store junk!.

Pros: None

Cons: What you think you purchased online is far different from what you receive!

I live in Ohio and found this florist through FTD.com. I ordered corsages for Mother's Day and asked for six rose corsages in a variety of colors (3 wrist, 3 pin). I described several looks on the FTD site that I liked and was told that she would do rose corsages for $15 each. Family members picked up the flowers on Mother's Day and I saw them later that day. Each was only a single rose (not as discussed)--much like the boutonnieres on the FTD site for $9, but these also had ribbon--which was unfortunate. They were not all different colors as requested, but probably leftover pink, yellow, and white flowers. More than half the flowers had brown spots, and one of the white roses looked so terrible that we went to WalMart and bought a replacement corsage. Two of the corsages had actual ribbon, but the remaining four had cheap fake ribbon--one of which came loose from the wrist corsage. I tried to contact the florist re: the problems and after putting me on hold for awhile, she said she'd call back. She never did. I disputed the charge with my bank, but it wasn't an unautorized charge so nothing could be done there. Also, despite finding the florist through an FTD site, the florist did not submit the order through FTD, so nothing there either. Finally, I called to let the florist know that I would be writing a negative review and was called "sad" and "vengeful" for doing so. The florist also said that I didn't know the difference between a corsage and a boutonniere and that I "needed to be prayed for." Anyway, lesson learned.

It's also great that before calling the florist, there were no reviews of this shop, but now there's an "anonymous" review refuting everything I discussed w/the florist posted today... judge for yourself.

ps--the anonymous post was removed after I brought it to the site's attn. However, another anonymous review has appeared ridiculing people that post reviews on the site. ironic...

Everytime I have ever called Flowers By The Neuse they have been very friendly and helpful and seemed to know just what to send. Their flowers are delivered promptly and always last longer than any other flowers I have ordered. They have a great selection of fresh flowers and blooming plants. Also, the designers have been in the business for over twenty years. I have lived in this town for many years and have never heard a complaint, only compliments. Guaranteed great experience!
