WHAT A JOKE!!!!! They don't deserve any stars. Don't do it, just call SEARS and save yourself the time, energy, aggravation and money. When I initially called, I was told that it would cost $80 for the tech to come out but that the $80 I paid could later be used toward parts and labor if Advance did the repairs; that's not true, the $80 is paid directly to the technician just for coming out. I get that the tech needs to be paid but is that not what ??labor? is??? When I called them on what ??not naming names? told me on the initial call, I was simply told that I had been misinformed and that they would talk to her about it. What a joke, they didn??t even attempt to make her mistake right. Secondly, they quoted $300 for parts and labor to repair my washing machine (that's in addition to the $80 I paid up front). Sears quoted $150 for parts, labor and the trip out...this is guaranteed for 6 months after the service is completed. When I told the lady from Advance this she said ??wow, that??s a good deal?; ticked me off! Thirdly, when I asked if they could do the repair if I purchased the part for $80 from Sears, they quoted another $120 just for the labor. So now I??m at $80 for the technician, $80 for the part and $120 to install; not happening. I started to raise sand and press the issue by escalating this up the management chain but I don't even want them back in my house...I don't trust the work because of the "lack of knowledge" in the front office. Now I'm questioning if what the technician told me is right or not. Well, I??ll chalk this one up as a loss?a learning experience and move on. They got me once but never again. So much for trying to keep my business local and support a business in the community. Advance Appliance Service, you should be ashamed!!! I??m ashamed for you and I will NEVER use your ??company? again. I will never refer you to any of my friends, family or co-workers. Sooooo disappointed!!!!

We had Advanced Appliance Repair out to our home in January because our heater was not working. My husband had flipped all the breakers, but did not completely flip one of them back, which was the problem. We were insured under a Home Services Warranty at the time, and this was not covered, so we paid the balance on the bill. We received a statement from them dated 6/30/2012 showing our payment for the January service call, but a new charge of $74 appeared with a payment due date of 4/10/2012. I called Advance Appliance Repair about this and they told me that they had come out a second time to flip the breaker. Why in the world would we have them come out again at a charge of $74 to flip a breaker? The woman that I spoke with insisted that the only way to resolve this issue would be for me to contact the Home Services Warranty people. The proper avenue to resolve this issue would have been for her to take my contact information and investigate, and she would have found THEIR mistake. What she did was dump it into my lap; I invested time into resolving this along with the Home Services personnel having to invest their time also. I have asked to speak with the manager at Advanced Appliance Repair; my problem at this point is how this situation was handled. As I stated, they should have taken my contact information and investigated. Rather than allow me to leave a message for the manager, Michelle (accounts) told me the issue was resolved and hung up on me. The office personnel of this business are AWFUL and are in sore need of training. There are better businesses out there that know how to treat their customers.

I was recently recommended to call Advanced Appliance Service by a friend when my hot water quit working. They came out and fixed the problem the same day. I was actually shocked when I saw all of the negative reviews. The man that came out was very polite and knew what he was doing. The service provided was excellent and I would use them again.

I called this company as they service LG appliances. The technicial said he fixed my washer but the same problem returned the next day. It being a holiday weekend and my washer beiing full of clothes and water, I called them again to have the techician return immediately. Well, this company blew me off and never sent the tech back out leaving me stuck for a four day holiday weekend with a broken washer and soppy clothes. Trying to follow up to when the tech would arrive left me to realize they had closed shop early for the holiday. How considerate of them! I will never recommend this company and am contacting the BBB.

They always treat us like family. I have used this company several times, my dishwasher was leaking and the tech came out the same day because it was leaking onto my floor, the tech found that all was needed was the door gasket needed to have the soap residue washed off, he did that and the dishwasher has NOT leaked since. I would highly recommend them, they have always been very professional and treat us like family.

Technicians are not qualified. We have had 6 service calls and with no results. Three compressors were installed and went bad, then they decided that it was a relay switch. We have been without air conditioning for 3 weeks with the temperature outside being in the 90's. Upon calling we have got the run around. We were told a 4 days ago that the part was in. However the new call requests within the last few days took precedence over our situation. These new requests may have been without air for 1 or 2 days, but our need of not having air for Three (3) weeks did not have priority. Good luck with your choice. I recommend any other company!

Terrible company to deal with. They said that they would have our AC fixed last Thursday and here it is Tuesday and I was just told it will be a couple more days until they can schedule a serviceperson to come out and install the part needed to fix the machine. The person who answers the phone is not very helpful but is quick to explain that it is the customer's fault that they can't get a technician out on time. They also seem to block you from speaking to anyone in an authoritative position. Looks like this is not an isolated terrible experience judging from the reviews online.

UPDATE: Just spoke with Carl (the owner) and had an unfathomable conversation. They were scheduled to come perform the repair this past Monday. After several days of not getting answers as to why the job was not performed and being told it would be scheduled within two business days from Tuesday I got fed up. I called and asked to speak with a manager. The manager told me now that it would be another 3-5 business days until I could be scheduled so I asked to speak to the owner. That is when Carl got on the phone and proceeded to tell me that I didn't listen to his technician who said that it would be a "quick ten minute job" to fix my AC. Carl said that they are unable to tell me when my job would be scheduled because it required his highly specialized "4 hour crew" and they have been swamped due to the high heat in the area right now. I told Carl that I didn't care what his situation was, all I knew was that I was scheduled for this past Monday and they didn't show and now I am being told it will be another week until I can get scheduled again. Carl's response was to explain that they are "not a sophisticated organization like the hospital" and that they just can't handle the volume of business they are getting because I am "dealing with a blue collar bunch of farmers just trying to do the best they can". What kind of an answer is this from the owner of a professional business??? I am calling my warranty company now and hope they can switch me to another company. This has been the worst customer service I've ever received and the owner did nothing at all to smooth the situation. Even if he couldn't schedule someone to come out immediately he should have apologized for the frustration and not made so many damned weak excuses. They deserve to be out of business.

DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. They were dispatched to our house through our home warranty company to fix the warming drawer portion of our Dacor oven. They originally showed up fairly quickly on March 15, 2011 but from there it went down hill. They diagnosed the problem as a broken thermostat and left our house saying they would order the part and be back the following week to fix it. Well, from then on we CALLED THEM 8 TIMES to get updates and to find out when they would get back. Although we usually got someone on the phone, they never had an explanation as to the status of the part being ordered. Typically they said the person who would know wasn't there but would call me back the next day--they never once called us back. AFTER TRYING FOR 6 WEEKS (!!!) we finally got back in touch with our home warranty company who also tried for about a week to get Advance to perform--even they couldn't get them to finish out the job. The home warranty company finally dispatched the work to another contractor and we're finally on our way to getting it fixed. I have no idea how these guys are still in business.

Through American Home Shield [my home appliance warranty] they recently sent AAS out because my washer and dryer are failing. Dropped off dehumidifier on a Tuesday morning at 9:30am. By Wednesday afternoon I called to get an update. No one had looked at it. I call again Thursday afternoon and again no one had looked at it and I got several excuses... people out sick, on vacation, etc. I called again Friday afternoon and girl said "looks like it has been taken apart but there are no notes". She said she would get in touch with repair person that had worked on it. Never heard back. I called again Monday morning to let owner know of my disappointment and bad service. I mentioned the bad reviews online and I should have paid more attention to the comments. I also stated it seems he may need to clean house if that is the best service they can provide. He said "these are very good Christian's that work here". He really didn't seem to care about how the business is running just that he has very good Christian's working there. Okay. I am picking up my non working dehumidifier and getting $45 back that I paid upfront but I have to wait two more days before they will have equipment put back together. Also when I mentioned to one of the employees about their bad ratings online she said all people that go online to write a comment has bad ones to write. Well I just wrote an excellent comment in December for service I received so...?

Recently called about a dryer that would not fully dry clothes. I was thrilled that they could come out the same day. Maybe that should have told me something though..if they are not very busy...maybe there is a reason.

The young man came out and looked at the dryer. Was in the house 10 minutes..used a wet vac to "clean out" the vent. (Please note, I had already done that prior to calling them.)

He said that what he thought needed to be done was the duct from the inside to the outside being cleaned out...and you guessed it...Advanced Appliance does not do this, but referred me to a duct cleaning company in another county.

For 10 minutes in our home it was $112.59. I was expected $80, but this is unreal. He literally did not repair anything. Left the hose off the dryer and told me to literally "put a sock on it" and said "since it is winter, it will help to heat the house.

UNREAL!!!!!

Had Advanced out to do maintance on my heating system and they found that I had a carbon monoxide leak due to a part that had a large crack in it. The serviceman was very thorough and had the problem repaired so that we were ready for the winter and safe. Thanks AA.

Advanced Appliance has more stories than a publishing house when it comes to telling the truth to their customers. We've learned they really don't know much about water heaters, but they might be good for appliances. Our water heater ?? still under warranty ?? needed a repair part. AA was notified on a Friday but they couldn't order the part until Monday. We were charged $80 for the service call A part needed to be ordered, and they demanded a $75 deposit to order the part. By Wednesday they told us they had searched for three hours trying to find the part. They said they had ordered it to be sent ASAP. It hadn??t arrived by Thursday because it was coming ??from out of state.? I guess they hadn??t ever heard of overnight express. By Friday, it still hadn??t arrived but they said it had been shipped from Atlanta. On Monday around 5 p.m., they told us it had been shipped to Randleman, NC. The part hadn??t arrived by Tuesday. We asked at which Randleman business, and we??d pick it up. Randleman is only 45 min. away. Oh, no, they said, it wasn??t in Randleman. Well, we asked where was it? It??s in some town down east beginning with the letter ??R,? perhaps it was in Rutherfordton (which isn??t down East but about 80 miles to the west.) At which point I called the manufacturer and ordered the part to be shipped overnight to me. It took me less than 4 minutes to place the order. Although the warehouse was closed, customer service was working. The women said it would be shipped overnight the next day ?? Tuesday. Advanced Appliance has more stories than a publishing house when it comes to telling the truth to their customers. We've learned they really don't know much about water heaters, but they might be good for appliances. Our water heater ?? still under warranty ?? needed a repair part. AA was notified on a Friday but they couldn't order the part until Monday. We were charged $80 for the service call A part needed to be ordered, and they demanded a $75 deposit to order the part. By Wednesday they told us they had searched for three hours trying to find the part. They said they had ordered it to be sent ASAP. It hadn??t arrived by Thursday because it was coming ??from out of state.? I guess they hadn??t ever heard of overnight express. By Friday, it still hadn??t arrived but they said it had been shipped from Atlanta. On Monday around 5 p.m., they told us it had been shipped to Randleman, NC. The part hadn??t arrived by Tuesday. We asked at which Randleman business, and we??d pick it up. Randleman is only 45 min. away. Oh, no, they said, it wasn??t in Randleman. Well, we asked where was it? It??s in some town down east beginning with the letter ??R,? perhaps it was in Rutherfordton (which isn??t down East but about 80 miles to the west.) At which point I called the manufacturer and ordered the part to be shipped overnight to me. It took me less than 4 minutes to place the order. Although the warehouse was closed, customer service was working. The women said it would be shipped overnight the next day ?? Tuesday. We received it today, Wednesday, and it had been shipped overnight. Total cost: $0 because the water heater was under warranty. BTW: The company is located in Montgomery, Alabama, not Georgia.

This companies customer service is really bad. I wish I would never have called them to look at my water heater. They have the worst customer service I have ever had and I just got off the phone with them and told them so. They will not call you back to give you an update on the work status /order status. The came out to my home on 11-18-09 early am and told me a part was bad on my water heater so I said cool fix it. Well the part had to be ordered. I called them the next day to check on the part and the lady told me the part had not even been ordered and it was 11am when I was on the phone. She said the part would be ordered in the afternoon because they had to wait to get the paper work from the techs. She said she would call me back to let me know the status and never did. I talked to them today 11-20-09 about the part the lady said she would call me back to let me know what was going on and she never did. I have been without hot water since 11-18-09 with small kids. I found out that the part is shipping directly to me at my home and supposed to be here on 11-21-09 then I have to call them to come out and install the part.

I have used Advanced Appliance repair for my washing machine and refrigerator. They were clean, professional, and knowledgable. They had the parts on hand and did the job for a very reasonable price. I recommend them for do it yourself projects as well.

Took them about a week to come out and look at the unit. He claimed that the unit was dirty and needed a cleaning, charged me 100.00 to spray the unit out, i could have done that, we will see if this helps the problem. the orginal problem was the outside unit kept cutting off and had to press the reset button in order to get it to cut back on. time will tell.

I have used these guys since the home warranty that I had purchased with the house used them for their service calls. They pretty much fly be the seat of their pants when it comes to repairs. There philosophy is replace parts until it works. Well to be honest while I was under warranty I really didn??t mind since it only cost me $60 for a service call, but now that I have quit with the home warranty it has become a big issue.

My last experience with them was 12/3/08. The issue was one of my heat pump kept tripping the high pressure safety. This was also the same issue experienced with my previous call to them back in July. They came out and said that there was too much Freon in the system and that is common for techs to do. Unfortunately my wife was the one who had to deal with them as I couldn??t get away from work. I called the company on 12/5/08 to talk to someone about this service call as I felt that it was their fault the Freon was over charged in the first place and that I shouldn??t have to pay for the service call. After being on hold for 20 minutes I got a gentleman (he did not identify himself) who explained to me that after looking at all the service reports that have been done on my unit over the past year that it was a mystery as to what was really wrong with it and that is why they only charged for the service call this time. So I asked ??you have been out on numerous service calls over the past year and have charged me for adding Freon, taking Freon out, timers, relays and service calls and you still don??t know what is wrong and haven??t fixed it?? He replied that what he reads in the service report is a code for the tech doesn??t know the true issue and it is a mystery.? I replied and stated ??The reason I called your service company was to repair the issue and not to have your tech tell us that it is repaired when in actuality you tell us it is not repaired and is a mystery as to why it keeps having the same issue?. The gentleman replied with? well you have 30days if you have the issue happen again for us to come back out.? I replied ??That was not the point of the call. I called to find out why I had to pay for Freon to be put in the system and then have to pay to have it taken out because they put too much in.? He told me? I can??t help you with that as it was a service call and that was the charge?.

This is an example of the poor business practices this company operates under. They self acknowledged that they don??t know how to fix a common problem with heat pumps. Google it, it is not a mystery! Do yourself a favor and find a reparable repair company.

I, unfortunately had Advanced install a new system in my house a little over a year ago and as I type it is 85 degrees in my living room. The nightmare started during the installation when we discovered one of their techs had pilfered my wife's underwear drawer and had stolen electronics from my home office. We were never re-imbursed for the underwear we threw away but I did manage to get the electronics back. After a BS story of how they fired the guy and were sorry, I take the guy to court to discover they never fired him, he went right back to work on another project!

Now the actual system, I had my old heat pump replaced with a brand new Goodman Air unit and its never worked properly since installation. They provide a 12 month service contract, but now at 15 months I've had them out 4-5 times, they never completely fixed the problem (the system freezes up constantly, I have the thermo set at 79 and if its over 80 it freezes up) and now have left me with a a unit that doesn't and never worked properly. I have tried to work with them but they have basically brushed me off. I've had several other techs come by to look at the shoddy work and both have heard dodgy tales about this company. Don't make my mistake, save your money and choose a qualified, reputable company.

These are the people to call. They do cooling and heating repairs and service all brands, makes and models. Residential and commercial contracts are available. They have been in business since 1967. They are open on Saturdays. They also give a senior citizens discount. They are very professional and accomodating. I was extremely pleased with the service I received from them.

We have had Advanced Appliance Service to our home on several occasions to work on both our heating and air conditioning systems. When I call to make an appointment, they are usually very quick in having someone come out (I did have to call back twice on one occasion, which is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars) and the people who come out to do the work are very courteous and professional. They have always explained to me exactly what they needed to do to the heating and/or air conditioning and how long it would take, if they had to come back. I am very pleased with this company and would highlt receommend them.

We have had Advanced Appliance Service to our home on several occasions to work on both our heating and air conditioning systems. When I call to make an appointment, they are usually very quick in having someone come out (I did have to call back twice on one occasion, which is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars) and the people who come out to do the work are very courteous and professional. They have always explained to me exactly what they needed to do to the heating and/or air conditioning and how long it would take, if they had to come back. I am very pleased with this company and would highlt receommend them.
