The Visulite is an old renovated movie theater, so that gives you an idea of the set-up. They host live local, regional, and even some national acts. The best thing about this venue is that it allows for plenty of sitting room and tables where you can easily see the stage but also has a "pit" area just in front of the stage so you can dance and mosh. What's also great is the women's restroom is large enough that I've never had to wait in line. The bar is also large enough that there never seems to be a lot of waiting there either. The only thing I didn't like is that we had to stand outside (and it was freezing!) and wait even though we bought advance tickets. Also there is not a non-smoking area but that goes with the territory, unfortunately.

We went here for the first time last night. The bar service was good, and the drinks weren't very expensive. However....not much seating, we had to hunt for an empty seat, but it wasn't a big deal, Problem came when I tipped very very very well and didn't get a thank you or anything from the barstaff. This morning I started thinking about the bill and realized that they had really overcharged us. They didn't give us an itemized statement and last night I was more concerned with watching the show than my tab.

Pros: good music

Cons: no seating, staff doesn't appreciate patrons

This is a marvelous place to catch rock/pop/jam bands/blues or just about any type of music you can imagine... The sound system is outstanding; there is not a bad place in the building to hear a band or performer...Bernie Brown does a wonderful job of booking national, regional and local acts and also encourages the local arts scene with Wordphoria and independent films... A great bar to hear great music at a decent price. The staff is professional and outstanding at what they do.

If you're like me and believe that seeing a show not only depends on the band, but the venue; then you have to check out the Visulite Theatre. This small, yet comfortable venue offers a place to see your favorite bands without having to sacrifice intimacy. If the old stage, musty couches, and overall ambience don't lure you in, then just talk to the bartenders. Not only does the Visulite boast as an excellent venue to see a show, but its also an excellent venue to belly up to the bar and have a drink. I love this place and highly recommend any music lover to see a band here. It's a good time!
