I would not use this company for TV repair or anything else for that matter. I have a 6 year old Samsung that they had for almost 8 weeks. Finally i get a call and they say its ready. I go to pick it up and said are you sure it ready

We have used Neil Mathews' professional moving crews for years! They have moved an entire office (including HEAVY filing cabinets, etc.) from the top to the bottom floor....and back again. They've made in-town moves, removed everything in the house and packed it in our garage so our our floors could be refinished, then returned to put everything back. They know how to safely move my piano. They have efficiently packed assorted storage pods, and are now scheduled to actually pack the boxes plus multiple pods for a cross-country move. We have continued to use Steele & Vaughn through the years because we are assured that things will always be right. They deserve the highest recommendation! Elaine Campbell

Ok, I'm not sure what the other people are talking about. I have had several great experiences with them. When I bring them one of our electronic pieces from home, they have always done a great job getting it working or being very up

I had the same experience dealing with Steele & Vaughn. First, a tech came out and said he was "replacing the caps on the board" instead of replacing this potentially defective "board" altogether. Required FULL payment (instead of deposit) before finally picking up television (after 2 visits replacing individual "caps.") Steele & Vaughn kept the television for over 3 weeks and was reluctant to give any updates when I would call each week.

Finally, I spoke with owner, Neal Matthews, and advised him he had my money AND my television and needed to repair and return the tv promptly. He was very indignant and professed years of good business.

Finally (another week later) I showed up on site strategically accompanied by a male who didn't speak a word but stood there witnessing the exchange. TV returned within a week. This business takes advantage of females and OWNER was very unprofessional and rude. Don't do business with Steele & Vaughn. EVER.

UPDATE: (July 2010) Having to research a repair AGAIN for the same television (been periodically problematic for at least 10 months). At least this time Steele & Vaughn not on the list of recommended companies for repair. Good move Sony.

We have the same experience as Amy, they say they are ordering parts that take forever to coming in. It has been over a month for us now and still our TV is not repaired. We were referred by the manufacturer to contact them, they say their are having a hard time trouble shooting the problem. My thoughts they are not qualified to work on certain TV products. They are not trustworthy, they do not do what they say they are going to do. We have to constantly call them to get an update, instead of them keeping us informed. They say they have ordered a part and it's suppose to be in a certain day and we find out they never ordered the part to begin with. I would differently not recommend them for TV repair.

Business Response:

Customer info here not correct This customer's repair also had parts go into backorder status by the manufacturer, beyond our control. We did have a difficult time with the repair because some troubleshooting along with that repair must be done before other problems surface---as in this case. I spoke to Ronnie a couple of times and early on told him that we would call when the job was complete but that we would not call with updates on this repair. So for him to say that we did not give him updates is correct--to say that I told him we would not call with updates on this difficult repair with backordered parts is also correct. He knew we would not call until the job was complete but I told him he could call anytime he wanted to for an update. We are trustworthy. We did the job as fast as we could with backordered parts and on a repair that, when one thing was repair, twice additional issues surfaced. Ronnie's complaint is with half-truths and incomplete information he was aware of.

Our television picture tube went out and because this company dealt with the waranty we had we had to go through them. We took the TV to them and it took forever for them to fix my TV. They kept saying that they were ordering a part and I kept calling to find out when we could get our TV back. It was over a month before we got it back and we had a hard time talking them down in price because they said that we could pick it up a couple of times. I refuse to do business with them again.

Business Response:

Problem due to backordered part We ordered the part within 3 days of diagnosis, but the manufacturer could not ship the part nor could the distributor because it was on national backorder. Unfortunately, we cannot control parts distribution by manufacturers. We did not keep saying that we were ordering the part but rather stated it was on backorder to us rendering the repair incomplete until the part arrived. The public must think we did our job OK because in 2003, 2004 and 2005 we serviced over 7000 items with extremely great success. Backordered parts is the number one complaint in TV repair by both us and our customers, but this is beyond our control.
