Always get the shrimp pad thai and it never fails to be awesome. Fast service for carry out, and nice decor for dining in. A must visit if you love Thai food.

I just move here from LA. I have tried many Thai restaurants in LA. I come here to Triangle and never believe that I can find a authentic Thai like Sawasdee.
I love to be here for lunch on Capital and dinner on Glenwood. Lucky for me,

I was visiting Raleigh and this place came highly recommended by a local. I ordered thai ice tea, fried spring rolls, and three-flavor grouper. The thai ice tea and spring rolls were OK - nothing special about them. Now the three flavor grouper - the fried fish was swimming in sweet chili sauce. It wasn't good. After several bites, I found a bug in my food. After showing my plate to them, I was told that it was possibly from the rice. But come on, really? Why would they suggest it, if they didn't know about it? And they still serve food in this place?

They tried to offer me a different dish. But after seeing what they may possibly have living in their kitchen, I couldn't bear stomaching it.

I then asked for my bill. Can you believe that the owner/manager was going to charge me for the entire bill? How would you feel if they asked you to pay for the bug-infested dish? The owner then realized that it wasn't right for her to do that so I only got charged for my drink and spring rolls.

All I can say is that this place is not clean and the food is less than average. Did I mention that the price seemed a bit high? Don't eat there if you can avoid it. If you decide to disregard my opinion, pay attention to any bugs before taking another bite. It may be there in your food.

After much anticipation - yuck. The hot appetizers were cold. This should have been a sign of things to come since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. Will definately not recommend nor go back nor visit the new location. There are way to many really good Thai restaurants to waste time with this one.

The restaurant does not look like much from the outside, but it's quite charming inside. The food is incredibly fresh and authentic. The wait staff is fabulous. Definitely be careful when ordering the spice level. Spicy was pretty darned hot!

I grew up eating authentic Thai food, as we have a family friend from Thailand. So needless to say, I'm pretty discriminating when it comes to Thai food. Sawasdee is the best place in the Triangle for Thai (that I've tried). I'd surprisingly never had Drunken Noodles before, but I can tell you when I get them at other places, they definitely don't compare. I don't find the price for Thai to be expensive here, in fact its one of the cheapest Thai restaurants I've been to in Raleigh. The decor is bright and inviting, although the place is small. I find it to be a romantic place, but I can see where others wouldn't. Their spice levels seem to be higher here than at other Thai places, so make sure you talk to your server about the heat levels if you don't like it spicy (they'll change it for you).

Pros: Interesting decor, excellent food, noninvasive service

Cons: Its hard to spot from the road on your first time

The food here is excellent. The portions are perfect, and when you want something spicy, this really hits the spot. They have several different seating options, including a nice patio area or some cozy seats for a more homey feel during your meal. The staff is accommodating and friendly.

The food is rich in flavor, and they aren't kidding with the make you cry spice level. The spot is cozy and relaxed, and the staff is very friendly. You get a lot of food and flavor for little cost. Once you eat here you'll look no further for great thai.

I love this place! Not all the food is excellent, but most everything we have had is. My husband loves the Drunken Noodles. I'm partial to their spring rolls and the catfish is divine! Some things we have tried are just so-so, but mostly everything has been delicious and nothing has been bad. The decor is kinda weird, but less offensive than most strip mall places. Look for the saign that says "Thai Restaurant" not "Sawasdee" or you will never find it.

We love this place for Thai and eat here quite a bit. Last week we brought our dinner club here and everyone loved it. The food was delicious!! The wait staff is friendly and efficient. And the Tom Kha soup is out of this world. Thanks for accommodating such a large group (12).

We have always liked this place, but our last visit was disappointing.

Colorfully decorated and clean, the wait staff is always smiling and efficient. Fast, too--- our dishes were out of the kitchen in the blink of an eye. Which made my son wonder aloud if they had been pre-prepared.

Although we all ordered different entrees, all three looked identical. All were covered in a dark brown, syrupy, sweet sauce.

My wife is convinced they have a new chef.

We will give them another chance as our previous visits were outstanding, but the homogeneous nature of these recent servings is worrisome.

$70 for three, no alcohol, tip included.

I love Thai food at Sawasdee and never get anything bad. The food is excellent and my friend can customize the taste like spicy, extra spicy, and less sweet as well as less salty. I know he is picky but the restaurant can do it for him. Just ask the servers. They are so attentive. Anyway, My favorite dish is Drunken Noodle Chicken.

First of all, I love Thai food and eat it very often, so as an avid eater of the Thai cuisine I came to Sawasdee with high expectations since I read it was "number 1" in the area. I ordered a spicy tofu with vegetables and my boyfriend ordered the drunken noodles. Our food literally come out in about 3 minutes, meaning it must have been prepared prior to our arrival, and yes it tasted like leftovers. Our food was extremely oversweetened, not very spicy, and all of the vegetables appeared to be frozen(not fresh). It was a very disappointing meal to say the least.

I would highly recommend going to Thai Villa or Sushi Thai in Cary, where you can experience what actual good Thai food tastes like.

My husband and I eat out every weekend and this is where we go when we want something different. We have gone about 10 times so far. The food is great I always order the Panang Curry Chicken. The spices are just right , good amount of chicken and wonderful rice ( I believe its jasmine). You couldn't ask for a more pleasant restaurant staff! I have only had one dine inn experience but we usually order to go only so we can rent a movie! But Its a great place for a quiet date.

This is the best Thai food I've had in the state of NC. First of all, the staff is very polite and will make sure you have everything you need and that you're satisfied. Also, the food is delicious. It's fresh and very tasty. It can be made mild or spicy for those of us who love kick! It's a small place, so not good for groups. It can be a nice place for a date, however. It's hard to find - it's on Capital Blvd. across from Chucky Cheese.

We selected this restaurant because of the high customer reviews and high Health Dept. scores. Excellent, excellent food; can't say enough about it. Very patient servers who explained what the dishes were. My husband and I are not adventurous eaters the first time out; we both had Pad Thai. It was fantastic, very fresh tasting, a ton of chicken in it, and very high quality chicken, no fat, gristle, etc. Large portions. I can't remember what my daughter had, she is more adventurous, but it was delicious. We will definitely return again soon and order other dishes, even though it's an hour drive. Really liked the decor, too.

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing dinner here. The service was some of the best I have ever had. The waitress was so patient with our questions. I asked for mine regular and it was just perfect. Please give this place a try. Fantastic!!!!!!!!

I love their Jasmine Rice that is the best quality of rice in the world market. I feel like no other Thai restaurants in Triangle dare to let customers try Jasmine rice because they want to keep the cost down. Unfortunately, I love something premium. Also, The rice is lively molded as a Teddy Bear/Star/Butterfly and some other cute shapes. What a rice that is high quality and animated? It is rice at Sawasdee.
About the food, it's always tasty and they put all best ingredients in the market that you can find. Pad Thai with Tamarine sauce and Cashew chicken with lot of cashew. It would cost more to make own Thai food for me because the lot of seasonings needed to make just one dish.

I traveled to Thailand last 3 months and tried lot of Thai food there. After coming back to Raleigh, I tried to find the feeling tasting divine food as I heavenly tasted it in Thailand. Eventually, Sawasdee is my solution. I really love Spicy Catfish, Tom Kha Chicken, Pad Thai Chicken, and Drunken Noodle Chicken. It's all I can remember eventhough there are more delicious plates than my explanation. Thanks the restaurant bringing back my positive De Javu having ambrosial food in Thailand.

If you like Thai food, you'll love Sawasdee. It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it.

Went for dinner with a party of 4, 3 of whom were vegetarian. We all LOVED our meals. The atmosphere is way cute and fun. It is small; we didn't have any trouble but I can imagine if your timing isn't just right you might have to wait (there are probably 7? tables).
They were very accomodating with increasing the spiciness, too. Very friendly but not at all overbearing waitstaff - important in a small space! Not incredibly cheap, but definitely a good value. Less expensive than some other places, definitely...

Go for Sawasdee for authentic Thai cuisine. Now they have great chef specials. My husband likes Pra Ram Long Song with Sawasdee's rich and creamy peanut sauce. It is very tasty. I had Pad Thai Woon Sen. It was very good.

This is the best Thai restaurant not only in Raleigh but also in Triangle. The food is the best compare to other competitors. Need to expand more space and do more marketing. Only Thai food in Sawasdee is the reason I am addicted. I love authentic thing and Sawasdee is only one name in Raleigh for Thai restaurants. Why don't you open in Durham ? i am so far driving to have your ambrosial food from Thai cozy paradise.
