We enjoyed a wonderful meal of "Red Beans and Rice" and a peck of oysters (lightly steamed) at the Oyster Bar on New Year's Eve. At 10:30 the "Lawn Darts" put on a great show that carried us into the New Year! We have been back twice

A friend and I went to Tonys early one evening and had their price appetizers. Price cant be beat and the taste was amazing! Definitely recommend the Ahi Tuna and Calamari. They had a Swordfish special that night and we tried it.

Growing up in New Orleans food is very important to a girl like me but not so much to the Yankee I married. When I found a Tony's I thought I maybe I found taste of home. .. not so much.

I happily order the appetizers and seafood dishes. I enjoy going there each and everytime I do. I think the food is yummy and I always leave happy. But the food is in no way what I would consider New Orleans type of food.

My husband cant tell the difference between their jambalaya or their gumbo. I havent ordered either and from sitting across from it I cant tell the difference from looking either. He says they taste similar but nothing like either of the dishes I make or the ones we get when I bring him 'home'.

SO in conclusion it is a great resturant but if you want some good Louisiana food go up to Batistellas.

Tony's is a great place for seafood. The prices are a bit steep, but you get a good amount for your money. The atmosphere is great as are the oyster bar servers.

When I went to eat here at Tony's we sat in the bar area at these very high tables. I'm short, but I made my way up there to enjoy a great meal! The environment was crowded, but it was fun, friendly, and the service was great. I don't eat oysters but they have other things on the menu that satisfied me. I especially remember their appetizers being delicious. Head over there and enjoy!

My parents are quite frequent diners at Tony's, so it was not a surprise that they chose to go there for their 41st anniversary dinner tonight. The restaurant doesn't take reservations for groups under four, so they had to wait about 30 minutes..which was not a problem. However, once they were seated and had ordered, they seemed to have been forgotten about. After waiting 15, 30, 45 minutes they flagged down the waiter and were given some lame excuse and basically blown off being told the food would get there when it got there. Meanwhile, several other couples had been seated and had been served their food. Finally, after having been seated and waiting for an hour, they got up to leave. They asked for a manager, who came out and proceeded to treat them much as the waiter had...blowing them off, even after being told it was their anniversary dinner. Needless to say, they won't be going back...nor will my family be going there at any time. Someone needs to sign their employees up for customer service classes.

I have only been to Tony's once and once was enough.
Being from New Orleans I ordered the Red Beans and Rice to see if they lived up to New Orleans.
What I received was some rice with what looked like a can of Bush's dark kidney beans had been
poured over them and maybe some sausage.
A can of Van Camp's kidney beans would have been better.
These don't even come close to what good Red Beans and Rice should be so don't waste your
money on them and please do not think thiese represent New Orleans in anyway.
Try Louise's in Clayton. This i primary a carry out but does have some tables outside.
Try it just for comparison if you are thinking about Red Beans and Rice, Jambalaya, Etoufette, Poboys, etc.

I would never recommend this place to a friend. I had such a bad experience. I can say that the bartender who was petite with brown hair was great. She was friendly and really on the ball.
However someone in the wait staff should not even be working there. She yelled at my friends and I to MOVE so she could get by us. No excuse me or anything.......she was just plain rude with yelling at us. Then when she came back around where we were standing she pushed into me on purpose and did it three times!!....trying to start a fight?? I asked to speak to a manger but the waitress I spoke to never came back with anyone. Another customer saw it and was just as upset as I was by witnessing the whole thing. I paid for my drinks and we left. She should not be waiting on people. She is a miserable person. She had blond hair in a pony tail.

As a New Orleans native, I can say with great assurance that this food is from some other place entirely(Cary, I guess).

First of all, Red Beans and Rice... Crawfish Etoufee... Shrimp Creole... What kind of rice do we serve those dishes with in NOLA? Hint... it rhymes with "sight". Yet every one of these dishes were served with YELLOW rice. I suppose their gumbo is the same, and the jambalaya too (probably not browned by the seasonings and meat, but just... yellow). I guess they think yelow rice is "cajun".

Then there's the other "cajun" thing they do... they overpower the dishes (especially the Crawfish Etoufee) with so much spice you can't even taste it. Now, I love my spice. But cajun and creole cooking aren't defined by units on the Scoville scale. They're defined by a subtle mix of many flavors. Speaking of which, there wasn't any discernible garlic flavoring in the Shrimp Creole, nor tomato, nor salt. There WAS, however, an overwhelming taste of celery. Mmmnnn mmnnnn cajun-y! (sarcasm intended) And the shrimp was flash cooked instead of simmered in the sauce (after it had been flash-frozen, from the "freshness" of it).

The alligator was chewy (like bad clam chewy, and NO, it ain't always like that). They also mentioned the steamed seafood you could get at the Oyster Bar. Another hint: we BOIL it in New Orleans.

Lastly, it was Mardi Gras Day -- MARDI GRAS DAY! -- and we went there for a little atmosphere, if nothing else. But we didn't even get that. They were playing bad 80's rock, and acted like they had no idea what day it was. We went into Whole Foods after and at least they were playing New Orleans jazz and selling Mardi Gras stuff.

If they had just been truthful and said "Red Beans and Yellow Rice" on the menu, we would have known better and left before ordering the appetizer. Oh well, at least the Abita Root Beer was good.

I went to Tony's for the first time and it was a stressful experience. The hostesses were so stressed out about the dinner rush they did not have time to greet or give a pleasant smile. I am a lover of good cutomer service and was not very happy when I left.

My husband and I went there last weekend. Our waitress was not attentive at all; it seemed as if she were working against her will. Although the portion size is generous, the food did taste below average. My dinner, rice and BBQ shrimp, did not come hot, it was room temperature.

I was impressed with full dining expierience. The food and service was awesome!!! Let me reccomend the crab dip or fried alligator for an app., the French quarter or the captin's platter for the main meal and bannanas foster for dessert. Also there almost always is a fun band on the weekends, can get a little crazy after 10 on Friday and Sat!!
Also Jim is the best bartender ever......go check out the scene and you will enjoy yourself.

The food was amazing! Unfortunately, the waitress was bad (never brought our bread or salad and then tried to charge us for it, only refilled our drinks once), and the hostess staff didn't really have it together. It was a busy night, and they were consistently giving bad wait estimates on the phone (there were lots of angry customers.)

Again, outstanding food, crummy help, lousy location.

I don't know what those other people were tripping out about. I took my date here for a little taste of N'awlins and left happy. The Jambalaya and Shrimp Creole treated my date and I just fine - both dishes were about $15/ea and there was plenty to bring home for later. If you want to spend 5 bucks on a meal, maybe you should stick to Mc D's, but if you want some down home Bourbon St. Jambalaya, there isn't a better place to find it. Tony's was great and I suggest you try it, I bet you'll leave as satisfied as we did.

I paid 25 dollars for a pasta\seafood dish that had hardly any seafood in it. I think 25 dollars for any pasta dish is quite steep. The food and service were average. The entertainment was a garage band that should have stayed in the garage. Cary is in need of a good seafood restaurant. I don't recommend waiting to get in this place, because you will be very dissapointed.
