Wow! I am really surprised at some of the negative reviews. I have to wonder if they are all for the Wang's on Atlantic (there are lot's of Wang's Kitchens around Raleigh that are all unrelated).

We order delivery from here all of the time and have for years. Even though we live at least 15 minutes from Wang's, our food always arrives fresh. In the countless times we have ordered from them, they have never left anything out, and I can only recall one mistake.

I suppose the egg rolls are a little greasy, but I love them! They are always crispy and delicious. Our favorites are any of the soups, the House Fried Rice (!!!) and the Chinese-style Buffalo Wings (simply amazing!). We have never had anything that wasn't good. We have also ordered custom dishes for the picky-eater of the house, and they have always been accommodating and prepared the dishes exactly as asked. We love this place - in fact, we are waiting for a delivery right now!

Just discovered Wang's after driving around the area near my office to find a new spot for lunch. I was excited about finding a sushi place so close. That is, until I took a bite of the sushi. SO BAD!

Don't know if the sushi chef was new or what, but it was horrendous. I took 2 bites and threw the rest in the trash. The rice was dry, the cucumber tasted like wood, the avocado in the California rolls was so overripe it may have been rotten, and the rolls weren't even rolled up! Each one was open on the side, so I couldn't even pick them up with my chopsticks to eat them. They just fell apart.

Yuck. Avoid Wang's Kitchen sushi at all costs.

Normally good food and quick, competent service took a turn south today. Sunday afternoon, great day for take-out, and they were doing decent business. However, the girl who helped me both on the phone and in person was completely lost, and seemed terribly confused. She did state, however, that she was not new. After much ado w/ the ordering and pick-up process, I got the food home, only to discover that the fried wontons were NOT the ones w/ cream cheese, but were instead filled w/ a pasty meat filling much like what is in a dumpling. However, fried dumplings were listed separately on the menu. When I called back to question this, the girl stated that dumplings and wontons are the same thing (???). She went on to argue that all chinese restaurants call the wontons w/ cheese inside "Crab rangoon, " and that everyone puts pasty meat in their fried wontons. (Which is COMPLETELY untrue--just ask Jumbo China!!)
In addition to this, both the white and fried rice were dry, underseasoned, and undercooked. The sesame chicken was also dry and burnt w/ no extra sauce for the rice. The vegetable low mein lacked any significant portion of actual veggies (I believe there was one snow pea) especially for the $7 price!! The eggrolls were tasty, but that's about it.
There was no offer to make things right, deliver some additonal Rangoons (she insisted that's what they are called), or refund any money spent. At the end of the day, I guess my dog has a newfound affection for Wang's kitchen...he really enjoyed the wontons, er, dumplings.

I can only speak for the take out. The service was quick, food was reasonably priced & reasonably tasty/hot. Overall I would recommend this place, based on my couple of experiences with their take out.

The food was great. Best Chinese I have had. Service was attentive and adequate. I will be returning and would recommend to all my friends. Not the best location but for the value and quality food worth the drive

I had ordered the Pork Lo Mein last night and i got here pretty quick. I was originally charged $22.88 and was called back asking for my card again because they forgot to add in the deliery charge (after that it was $25.08). I was okay with that because they told me and they said they were going to bring the voided receipt with them when they deliver. Well i look at my account this morning and I was charged $255.08, $15, $22.88, AND $25.08! Total was $297 and change! I can understand if it was a mistake but there were a tatol of 3 mistakes and i only knew of 1, and one was $255!! To mke it even worse, they didnt even tell me. They knew last night that it happened and they didn't tell me they ade the mistake. I would have appreciated a warning and the voided receipts. When I called owner all he could say was "they were voided last night". No compensation and didnt even really know anything about the credit card machine. He had no idea what an authentication number is on a receipt! Simple...its the number you get when a card has been approved or denied. I would think as an owner of a business that he would know what he was doing. I had to call my bank and they hads to fix it. Botom line, they REALLY overcharged me and they didn't have the decency to call and tell me, insead I had to get a shiock when i woke up and checked my account. REDICULOUS!!!!

On top of all that, the food had a chemical taste to it, nkinda like lighter flui but not as strong. That is the second time I ordered from there (and had something different both times) and it tasted like that. I know none of the ffod they cooked with was fresh because it tasted frozen and i know what fresh restaurant food tastes like, i worked in one for 2 yrs and we use fresh food every morning).

I will more than likely not orer from there again. If you order from there, I would go to order it at the restaurant and watch them cook it and watch them add up everything and charge it or just plain pay cash. I wouldnt recommen this place to anyone, and I WAS a wang's fan.

This was the second time I ordered from Wang's. The first time I ordered their authentic Chinese noodle soup, crab rangoon, and Mongolian style beef. When my order arrived, the driver had dropped the bag and the soup and sauce had spilled out all over the inside of the bag and contents. The soup was excellent, full of fresh vegies and rich broth. The crab rangoon was cream cheese and sugar, no crab or seasoning at all. The Mongolian beef was more salty than anything else.

Today, we ordered two lunch specials, Kung Pao Chicken, crab rangoon, and Chicken Lo Mein. I asked for low salt entrees. I was not asked how hot I wanted the chicken and it was very salty. The chicken was not fresh, but frozen pre-breaded chicken pieces. The sauce was thick and I counted a meager 9 peanut halves, no green onions, no fresh garlic, no vegies. We set aside the Lo Mein for later, so I can't comment on it now. Their was no improvement on the crab rangoon. The egg rolls that came with the meals were typical of Chinese restaurants that think Americans don't know the difference between good Chinese and cheap Chinese - salty and crammed with dry cabbage. We have spent over $50.00 on 2 deliveries from this restaurant, including tips.

Would I recommend this restaurant? As ordinary Chinese food goes, if you are incredibly hungry, go for it. If you order the soup, you probably can't go wrong. It is bland, but delicious. Overall rating, 4 out of 10.

Pros: $10 Minimum delivery, fast delivery, good soup

Cons: Few fresh ingredients, not enough vegies, too much salt
