We purchased a England sofa, ottoman and overstuffed chair from The Furniture Depot in Concord for about $2,000.00 and after only a year the fabric and cushions on the sofa looked as if it were 10 years old. After reporting the issue to VJ "Butch" Lambert, our sales representative, his response was that England would replace the cushions but not the fabric. After doing some research and speaking with other furniture companies, I found out that because of the break-down in the cushions the fabric will quickly become worn. I tried to explain this to Butch and The Furniture Depot and they refused to even comment, and kept saying we will not do anything more than what England is doing. They did not care that we were having issues nor did they want to discuss the issue further. I explained that we would be willing to split the cost of replacing the fabric on the cushions and again they refused to even discuss it. I would suggest you go somewhere else to purchase your furniture as they only care about the quick sale and not the long term commit to a customer.
I purchased a leather Lazy Boy recliner off the sales floor and returned it less than 48 hrs later because it was not comfortable. They charged me a $130 restocking fee because they said they couldn't sell it as a new chair. How many people sat in the chair on the sales floor before I purchased it? The owner has not returned my call. I will never do business with store again.
Although the appearance of the building may deter you from going in.. please dont let that stop you. Furniture Depot has a great selection of furniture at amazing prices. The sales associates are very helpful..always there to answer any questions, but do not hound you.
Definitely worth checking out!
I stopped into Furniture Depot today just to look around. I left with a recliner and a lamp. They have really awesome prices and a huge selection of sofas, chairs, dining suits, bedroom suits and lamps. The salespeople do not hover over you, but they are nearby if you have questions.
PROS: great prices
CONS:
would not allow me to return a recliner that was bought with a torn area in the back untill i paid $130.00 restocking fee
