This popular pizza joint has an Asheville atmosphere, even though it's a chain originally out of Atlanta. I enjoy Shrooms' pizzas, even if they're not particularly original. They also participate in the WCQS public radio card deal, so you get two-for-one.

This is the worst place I've ever eaten. The staff is so stoned they can't get your order right and seemed hassled by even the slightest request. Our waiter had sunglasses on the whole time. We never got the salads we ordered and the pizza was soggy. Not to mention, this place is A CHAIN, not a local, hip, joint. I think I'd rather eat pizza hut next time

A group of friends and I went to Mellow Mushroom for dinner last week. Even the horrible food was more acceptible in comparison to the waitress. First, the waitress came with the drinks and slammed each glass down onto our table and even spilled one of my friend's drinks on him. She might have grumbled "sorry" as she threw a towel at him to clean up her mess. As she took our order the friend who had gotten his drink spilled onto him by her made a simple request for an extra topping which the waitress flatly responded with, "I can do it but it's a pain." (Needless to say the simple request was not granted.) We had ordered an appetizer which was undercooked and did not arrive until after the main course had arrived. The pizza was satisfactory I suppose. We had requested separate checks whcih surpriseingly the waitress did cater to. Two of my friends paid in cash first and went to the restroom while me and another friend waited for the waitress to bring back our credit card reciepts. The waitress looked right at us and said, "tell your friends not to come back until they learn how to tip." We let the manager know what had happened but I would not recommend this establishment to anyone unless they can tolerate the worst dining experience they have ever had.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. Our children really enjoy going there as well. The pizza has a wonderful taste, and the service is always great!
