Took my puppy in there...had to wait 3 hrs. to be seen. very disorganized, rude staff. Dr. gave vaccinations to my sick puppy.
Took to another hospital following day and had to be hospitalized for 4 days for parvo.

I just wanted to say that my husband and I brought our 2 dogs Stohli and Tequila to your hospital. We love Dr. Garrett. He takes such good care of our dogs, but today 1-27-2011 we had to have Stohli put to sleep. It was so hard, but Dr. Garrett and his staff especially Lori who Stohli loved was there in the room. Thank you for being there to help us thru it.
Sincerely,
Ann & Mike Jennings

I am a new client to AHOF, and I must say that I am thrilled to have found them. After trying a few other practices in the area, I finally found one that I trusted to do a dental cleaning on my older pet, Sarah. Dr. Ellis was WONDERFUL and so was her surgery staff, Amy and Michelle. There was a question about the procedure and Amy called to verify that it was okay for the extra cost (although very reasonable) to be incurred on my bill. How considerate!!! Most places would just charge you without asking. Then Michelle was very helpful with my after-surgery questions. The entire experience was topped off with their extremely helpful and friendly receptionist staff. When the kennel staff brought Sarah up, I could tell that they really cared about her as well. Since that time, I have also seen Dr. Rhodes, and I have found her to be equally kind, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile with my pets.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the AHOF & my Ball Python saw Dr. Ellis...Let me take a couple of minutes to detail our visit...
1.) When I called to schedule the appointment, I had an appointment THE NEXT DAY! I asked for a Doctor who was experienced with snakes...and that is just what I received!
2.) We walked in the front door & we were pleasantly greeted. As soon as some of the front office staff found out I had brought in a snake, most of them had to hold her! Bella is a "ham" and she really took to the ladies there.
3.) We saw Dr. Ellis...I had all of my records, after taking a couple of minutes to review them, Dr. Ellis took the time to answer every question I could think of & then we found out Bella was really a girl (we had only suspected until then)
4.) When we were checking out, I was SHOCKED to see how low the bill was!

I will be returning to AHOF to have all of my pets attended to. My mother even drives from Apex to have her dog & 2 horses attended to. So, in short, I HIGHLY recommend AHOF!!!

Three and a half year old female boxer had the "Tightrope" surgery for a torn CCL (knee ligament). Four months later she is running almost full speed and seems to back about 90%.

90% is more than I anticipated and we are very happy we drove from Winston Salem to Fayetteville to see Dr. Garrett.

Will recommend his services.

Thanks Dr.!

When we adopted our first baby, a female chow mix, the shelter referred us to them. They have always been amazing to us and to her. Honest, caring and loving. When she was injured, they worked with us the whole way. My dog loves to see them. Now that we've adopted another baby, he will be going there as well. The staff is incredibly friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

About one month ago my dog went in to this hospital to get a procedure called the tight rope surgery. It was in order to fix a torn ACL and CCL and when I looked for Dr's in my area (raleigh) I did not find any that would do this new surgery and they were 3 TIMES the price where I live. Dr. Garrett made me feel comfortable from the first second I met him. He was a saint. He took such good care of my dog and even stayed late that night to feed him and call me at 9 pm to tell me how the surgery went. My dog is doing much better already and the price was so reasonable I can't believe it! Thanks so much.

I brought my two young cats to this facility to be declawed and spayed/neutered. Upon bringing them in, first of all, the waiting area was disgusting. Very unclean, disheveled, and it was overall filthy. I don't have pet allergies and my eyes and nose were stinging until I left the building. The front desk staff was very short and abrupt with me (they were a little busy, but not too busy to show compassion for animals) I was very disappointed that I was not able to speak with Dr Ellis before the surgery. The assistant came to the waiting area and just took my cats away. I am used to being able to meet with the Dr, and the facility was more concerned with running a business than anything. My cats have now been home for two weeks and one of the cat's paws are infected, the other is also having a hard time healing. I am not satisfied with the care they received at all. Growing up until now, I've had a total of 7 cats, before the two I have now. The previous cats had also been declawed, went outside, used regular litter, and healed within two weeks. My cats do not go outside, took antibiotics, and used shredded paper instead of litter, and they have infections. I called to schedule a follow up, and to get them checked out, and the girl I talked with on the phone did not seem knowledgable as to what could be done, and of course the Dr was unavailable. That was my last straw. I came to this facility because it was recommended by a friend, and the price was unbeatable. Now I see that you get what you pay for, and I have to invest a couple hundred more dollars to get their paws cleaned up from the damage.

Thanks a lot for nothing.

I have been going to this vet for more years than I care to think about. I have entrusted them with all my animals from cats to horses. Both Dr Brian and Dr Kenny Garrett are the best vets anyone could go to. Their staff is to say the least marvelous. The girls at the front desk are the sweetest and take their time to explain anything you need. They let you know they care about you and your pet. They do everything within their powers to make you feel at ease. I/we will miss deeply one of the women no longer there. If you never met Miss Trish you missed a lot. Animals and clients alike loved her. She will truly be missed by not only myself and pets but by all who knew her. We wish her all the best. Miss Linda is also a gem and will go out of her way to help with whatever she can. The vet tech Lori who comes in the room to see your animal and discuss what is wrong, is probably one of the best in the business. She makes you and your animal also feel at ease. So, if you want a vet and staff that are truly remarkable in all they do, then this is the place you need to be for the care of your animals. Dr. G also has two new vets. I have yet to meet them but I understand they are just as wonderful. Now,be prepared to wait sometimes,(on the phone too) this is an extremely busy practice. Trust me the well fare of you fuzzy ones is well worth the wait.

Well first of all senior Garrett is great and I truly trust him with my two dogs, but on the other hand Meadows I would be very careful of. When i brought one of my dogs in with an eye problem I was only able to see Meadows the same day and she told me that my dog had a slight infection and apply triple antibiotics and it would be fine. Well after a month on the medicine is eye gradually got worse and that when I called and made an appointment with Senior Garrett my dog was diagnosed with Kerratitis sicca which caused my dog to lose 10 % of his vision b/c he was disdiagnosed by Meadows. Thankfully Garrett caught it when he did and recommended a specialist. So in conclusion if you are going there please be weary of which doctor you see.

I have been going to Dr Garretts for years. This is a very busy office, and that's because they are the best. They take their time with you answer and all your questions. They take care of your pet as if it was there own. They have been there for me and my pets through good times and bad. You will truly not find a better Vet Clinic anywhere in NC. There are three Dr's in the office. Dr. Garrett, Dr Martin, and Dr. Meadows. I have seen them all, and all three are truly wonderful. Their office is always sparkling clean even with the huge amount of people they see every day. The front staff is to say the least AMAZING. You will never meet a nicer group of ladies anywhere. They always have smiles on their faces, and are genuinely glad to see you. They are compassionate and always take the time to listen to your concerns. They even mention things to help you that day, things you don't think of right away. Even the animals in the office love them. If you need a Vet to go to, this is the one and only.

Dr Meadows neutered both of my sugar gliders last week. She was very patient with all my picky and quirky requests and was glad to oblige, and also offer her own advice. She did such a great job on the surgery that they were able to come home with me that day. By the next day they didn't even seem to notice any pain. I was very pleased and impressed that she wore one of my gliders from immediately after the procedure, until the time I picked them both up. I was even surprised to receive a call from Dr Meadows today to check up on them! You have a customer for life!

My furbabies have been clients of Dr. Garret and his staff since I moved to the area over 8 years ago. We started out with ferrets and have since grown to include cats, a dog, and an African Grey parrot. The staff at AHOF is extremely friendly and professional. There were there for me when I dealt with the sudden passing of my husband. I boarded my animals while I went out of town and broke down in his office. One of my cats, Daisy, had been in the room with my husband the night he died and took it very hard. Dr. Garret was worried that she may have had a rare illness, and if so she would only have a few weeks to live. Thankfully, Daisy was only suffering from depression. She has since recovered and is back to her old self. I've had several of my ferrets die and AHOF has helped me with the cremations. They are extremely professional, kind, and caring. You can tell they truly love caring for animals.

When I go out of town I board my African Grey, Smitty, and my miniature Australian Shepherd, Dakota. The staff knows us all by name. Dakota and Smitty get excited when they are greeted as soon as we walk in the door.

I've felt very comfortable with Dr. Garret and his staff, all of them. My Smitty has had a crush on Dr. Brian Garret for years.

Dr. Garret knows his stuff. The girls that work the front desk are always so kind. I'd recommend Dr. Garret and his staff to anyone who is looking for a friendly, professional vet.

The only downside, if you really want to see Dr. Garret, the older Garret, be prepared to wait. I have no problems seeing any of the other vets, so my babies and I are usually in and out.

My cat, Sox, is my baby and recently he got very sick and was even passing blood in his urine. It scared me to death. I know he's 16 years old, but I'm just not ready to say goodbye to him any time soon. Dr. Martin was just wonderful. I felt like she really cared about Sox and took excellent care of him! It turns out that he has diabetes and was suffering from a urinary tract infection. He's feeling fine now and getting back to being himself again.I am very pleased with the care that he received and highly recommend this vet!!!!

I have been a client of Dr. Garrett's for more more than 25 years. I have owned a number of dogs, cats and horses over the years. I don't know what prompted the comments of Lisa T., or when her issues occurred. Over the years there have been a number of vets starting their careers with the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville. If I had a matter that was of particular concern, I would usually request Dr. J.K. Garrett, simply because of his many years of experience, until I got to know the newer vets more personally. Even though it is a very busy office, I have always received professional and courteous care for all my animals. I agree thoroughly with the comments posted by Kelly B. I will say that I know and have used all of the vets currently at the clinic (Dr. Brian Garrett, Dr. Speier, and Dr. Summers) and they have all been professional, competent, compassionate, thorough (and personable). I wish other medical specialists could claim to serve their clients in ALL of these respects. I am sorry Lisa T.'s experience was unsatisfactory, and hope she has found a vet she can have a positive working relationship with.
I would use and recommend ANY of the vets at AHOF.

I am compelled to respond to Lisa T.s comments on behalf of Dr.s J.K. Garrett and Brian K. Garrett and the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville. I have been a client for 18 years. As horses are my livelihood, I want to express to you my experiences with the AHOF with respect to the professionalism, dedication and compassion the Veterinarians have shown to the needs of my animals as well as my own. No other Veterinary Clinic has offered their services to me with such complete dedication and generosity of time. The doctors at the AHOF are equally conscientious about every animal I own from the "rescues" to those of great investment. All animals are treated with the same dedication, compassion and respect. And although at times the AHOF is extremely busy, at no time does the staff become less than compassionate to the animals in need or the people who love them. As pet owners, we are responsible for acting on our pets behalf and asking the questions that they cannot. You do not indicate in your comments that your ever took your pet to State for an MRI, nor do you indicate that you discussed the case of your animal with either Dr.s Garrett, which as a pet owner, would have been my immediate next step in resolving the issues you state. Furthermore, your comments suggest you waited several months before having your pet seen by another Veterinarian, allowing your pet to endure more seizures and your family more worry about your pet-an act that seems contrary to the loving and appropriate care of a responsible pet owner. While I am sorry your experiences with the younger Veterinarian and the AHOF was not positive, I most certainly would encourage your to consider taking more responsibility for your part in ensuring the health of your pet in the future. Always seek consultation with the senior Vet Lisa, they are there to help you and never wait months before seeking medical attention or a second opinion for a sick pet. I have no higher regard for people then I do for Dr.s J.K. Garrett and Brian K. Garrett and I would highly recommend them and the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville to anyone with absolutely no reservation. Respectfully, RPFSportHorses

In defense of the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville. I am quite annoyed with a review they recently received from a woman. I for one have also lived all over from Sandiego to Chicago to Mexico. and for the record I am not military. I am nothing but pleased and satisfied with the care and professionalism of Dr. JK Garett, Dr. Brian Garrett and their staff. I have been a client now for 3 years and travel all the way from the NC coast just because of their expertise in Equine Care. I also have small animals, too and they receive the same above and beyond care. So please disregard the woman's opinion of the clinic. There are people who travel from NC/SC hours just to have their animals looked at by these veterinarians. So I would have to say the amount of satisfied clients out weighs one woman's opinion

I too have heard absolutely fantastic things about Dr. JK Garett and Dr. Brian Garrett. I have never met those two vets, my only experience was with the young woman veterinarian, so my only complaints were of her. After all the great things I have heard about the two previously mentioned vets, there is no doubt in my mind that they truly excel at their work, and I have recommended people to the clinic for the Garetts. But I thank you for informing me that the next experience i have that isn't positive should be taken up with the senior vets. He went months having numerous seizures, and I went to numerous vets (a grand total of seven) during that time. No, we never went to state to see if it was a brain tumor because we discovered that it was an insoluma (a tumor on the pancreas) that was causing his seizures via sonogram and proper blood work. He has had the surgery and has made a complete recovery and has been seizure free since, and no sign of metastasis as of yet. I do take offense to the comment that I do not take responsible care of my pet, you cannot only hear part of a story and draw conclusions about myself when the comment i am making doesn't deal with me, i was told to make a review of the clinic and i did so. I am glad that the both of you have had a positive response with the two gentlemen vets, finding a vet you truly trust and believe has you and your pets best interest at heart is an obstacle in itself. But like I mentioned earlier my comment was only in regards to the younger female vet, which is who many people will get placed with, because typically (at least in my and other acquaintances cases) if you are new to the clinic or need to be seen same day. And who knows maybe every time i went in there the techs that i dealt with were having a bad day? Or it was particularly busy, i don't know. I just thought that there manner was haughty and unprofessional.

I adopted a dog from Animal Haven and took her here to get spayed. I was very worried about her but they assured me everything would be ok. They were happy to answer all my questions and they called to update me on her condition several times. When I got her back they gave me detailed instructions on how to care for her post-surgery. I was impressed with the time they took to explain everything.
