I live at the coast now, but when I've gone home in the past, I had to make the rounds to all my favorite places and Tommy's was, certainly, one of them. I have great memories from there. I'm 55 now and when I went there as a child. I would ride with my Dad to pick up hamburgers and hot dogs. At one time, they had a special that was 7 hamburgers for a dollar and 10 hot dogs for a dollar. I am not kidding.
I also remember those big cheeseburgers too. I ordered mine plain but on a couple of occasions they put mayonnaise on them. I didn't like mayonnaise so I would just scrape it off the bun.
I while back, when I went to Dallas and stopped in at Tommy's, I ordered my cheeseburger plain but it didn't taste the same as I had remembered.
My friend said her tasted the same. I, finally, realized what the difference was. Yep, I needed mine with the mayonnaise so I could scrape it off as before. That's the way I remembered it and liked it.
Um mm, I'm getting hungry.

Tommy's BBQ has been open since I was a kid, and they have some of the best sandwiches! The hamburgers are fresh and cooked to order and made anyway you like them. They also sell chuckwagons, which you can't get too many places. Many people like their bbq, which is also good. The only con is that it's pretty far out, but it is always crowded and the food is very good.
