5 Stars: Grannys great food (by Lonny C.)

I ate breakfast late and skipped lunch so my wife and I could eat a big supper. We talked about where we should go eat, Grannys Chicken Palace was on the top of our list.

It had been awhile since we ate there, but theyll never change, always a good meal. My brother in law from Pa. says its his favorite local restaurant.

The wife and I had 8 big pieces of chicken no way we could eat it all (always need a go box).

But I really like the service, no waiting (usually), everybody smiles (even the customers).

The food gets to you fast and they bring the slaw first, so kinda like a salad before the meal. In all the other restaurants the sides they bring are all you get (small), but at Grannys when the slaw, the rice, the green beans, the gravy, gets low they bring out more, sometimes they ask and sometimes the waitress just brings it.

Our waitress kept our glasses full and ask if everything was OK 6 (thats right six) times. I usually get ask one time as I pay and leave at most restaurants.

That slaw is better than I make here at home and everybody likes my slaw. The green beans remind me of my Mothers, very good, and the fried chicken is the best.

So here is two thumbs up and when you are near Lake Junaluska give them a try, say a happy customer sent you. (Oh the best part less than $21.00 not bad at all.)

1 Stars: Granny's Chicken Palace (by Erin H.)

We went here while on a youth ski trip a few years ago. Over half of us got terribly sick that night and were out of commission for a few days. It may have been a fluke that we all got sick at once -- but on return ski trips, we avoid Granny's Chicken Palace at all costs. Maybe the locals have better luck?

4 Stars: Family Style Restaurant (by Stacy S.)

Stepping into Grannys is like stepping back in time. Don't go there unless you like fried food and plenty of it !! Most of the food is served family style. Sometimes the wait is up to an hour, but if you're hankering for some good fried chicken, it is definitely worth the wait !
