Lynnwood Grill @ Raleigh Grande Cinemas has a horrible female waitress

by Mimi P.

Have been there several times. Really liked the food but this curly haired female waitress was such a rude biotch that I will never step foot in there again. Management just kinda stood there and of course tried to make excuses for her actions. Stay away from the curly head biotch as she has MAJOR issues. You won't catch me in there again. Rudeness when you are a paying customer just doesn't get it with me. And by no means take children in there. They have their little click there and others aren't really welcome. You can get wings plenty of places and don't have to deal with people like this rude chick. Would rate the food better but that waitress doesn't even deserve one star. Rudeness gets you NO WHERE!!

I love Lynnwood Grill

by Laura M.

Lynnwood Grill is like the quintessential neighborhood pub, except that the food is much better than "bar food." Pizza is good. My favorite thing on the menu is the MBT -- mozzarella, basil, tomato sandwich. Fries are so yummy. But you can also get a side salad. Ingredients all seem very fresh.

Only reason I didn't give Lynnwood 5 stars is that it's pretty smoky sometimes. We have 2 little kids and have to really be careful about the times that we go because I don't want to expose them to smoke. They have a non-smoking eating area, but it is literally about 5 feet away from the bar, which is smoking. ??? Anyway, other than that complaint, I love Lynnwood Grill.

Lynnwood Grill @ Raleigh Grande Cinemas is a good place for drinks.

by Andrea G. | insider Insider | Rank: 19,213

Love the patio. Waitresses are attentive and prompt. Matt and Billy are great bartenders on the weekend. Love that have plenty of T.V.'s to watch football on.

Love the calzones

by Donna D.

Love the spinach calzones. Substitute pesto sauce for the marinara that they usually put inside and you have the best calzone in Raleigh (the old Lilly's pizza that occupied the place formerly had a spinach and pesto calzone on the menu- that's where we got the idea). The house salad with pecans and everything is very good also. The only downfall is that on very busy nights, the service can be a little slow - there is one particular waiter who tends to be slower than the rest. Otherwise a great place.

The place is good for close to home!

by Kim G.

I live right up the road and it's a great place to hang out and they have great live music...well, when John Briggs plays, anyway! Food is good, too. Only thing...wait staff is kind of weird. They are busy..I get that....but Omari is always awesome, so you would think the others would be, too.

THIS PLACE IS CRAZY PACKED!

by Kourtney W.

This restaurant really is doing something right. Every time I go, it doesn't matter what time it is, it is PACKED. The food is great so it definitely keeps me coming back. Awesome pizza, great tasty salads. It's a little unexpected treasure of Raleigh, the only drawback is the crowd but it's hard to fault people for lovin' it.

Good Food, Friendly Service

by Ken T.

25 cent wings on Monday...what a deal. Many flavors(BBQ, Jerk, Garlic, Cajun, Special, etc...) They have a great wait staff...we had a party of 7 and separate checks(no problem). Other than wings...they have a good variety of food...(salads, pizza, soup, sandwiches)

Every Third Tuesday.

by Phil F. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,641

We have made Lynn-wood Grill are regular stop after our monthly meeting. A groups of us end up filling up a table or two. The wait staff has always been good about taking care of us. This past Tuesday, they ran out of the mystery beers and are waiter was quite apologetic. It wasn't necessary after all we were drinking mystery beers. We usually get a large order of wings. They are good about spitting the order into two sauces. The wings are good sized and crispy. For a neighborhood bar, this meets all the criteria and then some.

Good food

by Cathleen R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 857

The food here is pretty good. The menu is extensive with a large selection to choose from. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is non-smoking before 10pm, except at the bar. A good place to take the family. However, on the live-music nights, it's necessary to get there ridiculously early in order to get seats to see the musician due to the layout with the bar in the middle of the room.

Chicken Wings

Looking for some good chicken wings? You came to the right place. The mild is also spicy to me, but with enough ranch dressing, I am good to go. The fried pickles are good as well.

Best Pizza in Raleigh

by squidleech

I have tried almost everything on the menu at some point and have not been disappointed once. The new fall football menu has been a nice touch with the addition of Nathan's hot dogs. The only downside is the smoke, which should hopefully be corrected in January 2010 when NC institutes the smoking ban. I have never had a bad experience with the service and have made quite a few friends among the staff (Go Sox!). Great atmosphere to watch a game, listen to live music, or just hang out with friends.

Pros: Entire Menu, Atmosphere

Cons: Smoke

Great place!

by janoraarnold

Lynnwood Grill is one of our favorite places to go for a drink and dinner! The staff is very friendly....owner, Ted almost always stops by our table to check on us. The food is very good and there's a lot of variety. I recommend the pickle chips, salads, pizza and the garlic knots. I love the garlic knots!
I have read some of the reviews that mention poor service. I was shocked to read that because I have never had a bad experience!

Pros: Friendly service, great food, good prices

Cons: Can be a little smokey

Pros: Decent Bar & Draft Selection

Cons: Smoky.

One of our favorite pizza joints in the Triangle!

by deathpie

This is one of our absolute favorite places in the Triangle for pizza with Lilly's being a close tie. The pizza is awesome, with toppings like shrimp and potatoes. The wings come in a wide variety of tasty flavors (not just your usual mild, hot, bbq, etc) -- I'd recommend getting "hot" with a side of "backdraft" sauce. The atmosphere is suitably dark and grungy. Music is usually classic rock-ish. My only real complaint is the beer selection. They have some decent beers, but, the last time we went, they were sorely lacking in the stouts department. I have little to complain about, though. We're desperately looking for a good pizza joint in Durham now that we've left North Raleigh.

Pros: Great pizza, great wings, great atmosphere

Cons: Beer selection could be better

Good Pizza, OK serivce

by festivalcandy

Good Pizza for a decent price. It's hard to find good pizza anymore but they definately have a good one. I think the staff could be a little more welcoming for being in a service industry, but overall a good experience.

Pros: Good Pizza

Cons: didn't find the staff too friendly

Great food and prices

by sautz

Lynnwood does have a bit of an identity crisis as you can tell by other reviews. On the one hand it is close to the movie theater so you get a lot of traffic from families stopping in for quick food before the show, but on the other hand this is usually a very crowded and smoke filled not-the-most-family-friendly bar.
If you and your kids have half an hour until VeggieTales IV is playing this probably isn't the best place to come in to try to get a pizza. However, if you come at off peak times and are not in a huge rush you will be rewarded.
The pizza is some of the best in town. If I remember correctly this was a Lilly's for a short time and they seem to have kept at least some of their recipe ingredients in mind. The sandwiches and pickle chips are also awesome. In fact, I don't think I've ever had anything bad there. The prices for the food is also some of the best around. Pretty much everything is about 20% less than Blinco's down the street. You can get a pizza or a calzone for around $7 and their sandwiches are less than $8.
If you are coming in to drink they also have great prices and drink specials. I hate to pick on Blinco's again, but they have a Mystery Beer night for $2 while Lynnwood's is $1. Blinco's has $2.50 domestic pint specials while Lynnwood has $1.50.
So, if you are looking for great bar food and great prices for the area I highly recommend Lynnwood.

Delicious food - average service

by LCRaleigh

Everything I've ever eaten here has been yummy! The potato wedges are to die for! And low prices, too.
However, everytime I've been here it's been too crowded. That's the mark of a good restaurant, but it makes the service lack a little. Also, you can tell there's a bit of an in-crowd. If you're trying to make a movie or watch a game, get here early!
If you are looking to relax, spend some time and are patient, Lynnwood Grill is completely worth it. If you demand a fast service and constant attention, you will not enjoy this place.

Pros: Food!!!

Cons: Slow service and seating

TERRIBLE WAIT STAFF AND JUST DOWN RIGHT RUDE

by TEXTHEAD

My girlfriends and I went to Lynnwood Grill lastnight. We started off by ording drinks and it took them 5mins to bring them too us. So when we finally got our drinks we ordered some food and it took them 45min to make us a medium pizza and a basket of wings. The wait staff was very rude he didnt come to offer apology for why it was taking so long. We had to go up to the bar twice to get our drinks refilled. The bartender was very rude and it also took her forever to bring our drinks back. we will never go back to Lynnwood Grill again.

Pros: CLOSE TO HOME

Cons: THE PLACE SHOULD HIRE BETTER PEOPLE

THEY WILL SELF TIP ON YOU

by DrPepper25

I've benn to LYNNWOOD GRILL 12 TO 15 times and I always paid as I go.(DRINKS $6.00) Well one night I ran a tab and when I tabed out my drinks were $5.50 for the same drink. So i went in there a few more times and ran tabs and paid in cash and I had some of the same bartenders and some different and wouldn't you know it if I ran a tab drinks $5.50 and pay as you go $6.00 and I tipped very well each time until I caught on to there game they were self tipping all night. so when i asked them about this they just walked away. Now I will admit the food was wondeful but the service was horrible and you have to wait forever to get a refill on your drinks and there is plenty of people working their. IF YOU GO THER JUST MAKE SURE THEY DONT SELF TIP ON YOU

Pros: GREAT FOOD

Cons: BAD SERVICE, OVER CHARGE, RUDE RUDE RUDE

I (usually) love this place!

by Threedollabill

This place is a really great find. It looks very unassuming and a little cheesy from the outside but the food is awesome! There are a ton of great apps to choose from- my favorite is the pickle chips and their wings are really great too. The drink specials are pretty good and the atmosphere is very laid-back.

The service, however, is spotty. There is one server named Art (Arthur? Arty?) and he is awesome. He has always taken really good care of us. There is another guy though who kind of looks like Mr. Clean and he provided what has got to be an award winning performance as he stood at our table in complete silence looking at us until I said "hi.. uhh... should I order drinks?" The rest of the night he used eye and body language to more or less signal everything. It was SO weird because I saw him being super chatty and funny with other tables. Meh. Sometimes you will get someone really great and other times you will get people that are so so but I guess that is anywhere.

Try: Pickle chips, cajun sauce, chicken parm sand, margaritas, meatball sub

Be aware that you usually have to wait a while on drinks and refills and tables are usually a few minutes wait but its generally worth it :)

Pros: food, atmosphere, price

Cons: Parking, empty drinks

Our New Neighborhood Hang Out

by apcharlotte

My fiance and I just moved to Raleigh from Charlotte and we were thrilled to discover the Lynnwood Grill so close to our house and convenient to where we run our errands. We have been three times in under a month of living here because the food is fabulous (they even have great salads and I am very finicky about my salads), the service is spot on, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun to hang out in. They have awesome drink specials, even on the weekends, and every server we have had (three different ones) has been extremely attentive, professional, and kept the food and drinks coming. The Lynnwood Grill is our official neighborhood hang out and we highly recommend it to everyone we meet.

Pros: Tasty food at a great price, wonderful service, relaxed atmosphere

Cons: None

Papa John's makes better pizza

by luvsgoodpizza

When you take a date out for the traditional "dinner and a movie", and you spend $20 for a pizza, you expect it to be pretty good. The pizza here is AWFUL. Not only was the pizza AWFUL, but it seemed like I was chewing on cigarette smoke while I was eating it. This is the type of place that screams for a "No Smoking" area........like Carolina Ale House has. The bathrooms were disgusting...... I mean, like college watering hole disgusting. It took awhile for us to get our beers, but it was busy. However, seeing people practically falling off bar stools is unacceptable. It was 9pm and there were 2 guys so smashed, they should have been cut off 2 shots and 3 beers prior. Exactly how loud, rude, and drunk do you have to be to get cut off? This place should never be construed as a "family" or "date night" place.

Pros: The service was OK, but just OK

Cons: Loud Drunks at bar....still being served, AWFUL pizza, disgusting bathroom

So many employees, why such sorry service

by robin23

Being in the service industry myself, I just cannot figure out why, when there isn't a whole lotta people in the bar, should your drink ever stay empty for more than a few seconds when the staff number matches the amount of customers. This isn't a one time occurance, it happens ALL the time. After chatting with a bunch of my friends who all frequent the establishment I realize it is not just me. (I could understand if I was obnoxious or a bad tipper but I do bartend so I DO NOT do either). They have all agreed with me about the service. The only reason most of us go there is the proximity to our places, or to get food at odd hours. After my last experience there I have vowed to never go back. It is not acceptable to be rude and to yell at people like I watched the bartender do to some friends of mine. It is not acceptable to sit with an empty beer or soda while the bartenders walk back and forth, doing, I don't know what, because no one is at the bar. The last time I ate at a table I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for them to bring me what I asked for so I could eat!. I am not trying to be "that person" either. We all know the "person" who was drunk and obnoxious and can't even remember, generally over exagerrates what happened, and leaves a crappy rating (I've seen it happen). It just seems over the year or two I've been going there, these things never change. I know I'm not the only one who's noticed, but I am tired of putting up with it!

Pros: Great Salads

Cons: Poor service

I wood, wood you?

by Stormn1

Everyone needs more wood. Or I wood, wood you? The wood has great pizza, a wide range of good food, excellent atmosphere, and a pretty okay staff (actually, they're the best overall staff of any place I've seen in North Raleigh - which is quite a few places). Whether you want to head out to a movie or a pie with the family, meet coworkers after a grueling day of Dilbertizing, or just mosey up to the full bar for a spirit, the Wood delivers. But don't take my word for it. Check them out. If you don't agree, I'll refund the price of this review. Guaranteed.

Pros: Great food and drink specials.

Cons: Sometimes too popular....so stay away.

Enjoyable atmosphere for dinner AND/OR and night out and about

by jmaness

I enjoy variety and this is definitely what I have found heading to Lynnwood on different nights of the week. Wings nights, live music, and excellent food all in one place! What a one-stop-shop! :) You absolutely can't beat their wings on Monday night. Sometimes it?s a little packed on Mondays but what can you expect when you have 35 cent wings that are not weak and puny. ?Special sauce? is where its at :)

Horrible customer service and bad food

by MACcitysearch

Avoid this place at all costs! We had a horrible waitress who took 25 minutes to bring us our drinks. Ours was not the only table either- many people sat around all night for 20/30 minutes before being greeted or getting drinks. Then our appetizers came out wrong and very very late. Our drinks were almost always empty just like the rest of the people in the restaurant. Dirty plates piled up on our table to the point we barely had room for our entrees. The food definitely was not impressive and the wings had no flavor. They were even out of carrots and only offered shredded carrots with their wings- seriously? Our entrees all came out at different times, and my salad was forgotten. The bartenders were slow as heck. The hostesses were completely incompetent and the management was the worst of all. When we spoke to the manager about our bad experiences he was rude, condescending, apathetic and basically offered us a compensation for one of our drinks which took 30 more minutes - a whole two dollar compensation and did not apologize. Finally when it came time to pay we needed our check split two ways- not that complicated right? Well this took another 30 minutes only to find out that the cards were switched and the bills were run incorrectly, requiring even more time to straighten everything out. Then she did not give us copies of our receipts! All in all it took over 2 hours for what should have been a quick dinner. Avoid this place like the plague- go to Blinco's instead for great food, great variety and great service!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: bad service, staff, management, food, parking, wait time

Avoid this place if you have a family

by goodorbadoutonthetown

Well first of all the place is filled with SMOKE...not kid friendly....so we decided to just order the food to take home....took forever....had to step outside..due to smoke causing my girls to cough....then bill wasn't right and food wrong....and when reported situation... me and my family were looked upon as if we were causing a fuse....all we wanted was to get things RIGHT from the start...So from my experience i would advise all FAMILIES to stay away.....and try another spot. All we wanted to do was take the family out to a nice restaurant...new to the area and for all the new residents of Raleigh.... go and skip Lynnwood Grill...

Don't ever ask a question unless you want them to be nasty to you, they will definetly make you feel like it's your fault they made a mistake. Perfect pizza, super sandwiches, and wow waitstaff!!

by restauranteur1

Pizzalover 37 is clearly attempting a poorly written smear campaign. I have never met a friendlier waitstaff. Despite how busy it was in the dining room, the friendly waitress provided my family and I with superb service. The manager, Mike, even stopped by to ask how we were enjoying our visit, and to reccomend the hot ham and cheese sandwich. He was right, it was fabulous, as was the pizza. I can't wait for another good movie to come out so I have a reason to take my family there again. It doesn't hurt that there seems to be more than the standard ratio of attractive gals working there either.

Cons: need more room

We wanted to try something different and I had remembered seeing this place when we went to Lowe's. We went on a Friday night at 7 and only had to wait for 15 minutes with a party of 6. OMG! Their Mozzarella Cheese Sticks & Marinara Sauce...

by hxc

The best i've had in a very long time. I definitely judge a place by it's marinara sauce anywhere I go. Last night, I wanted to try something new besides the McNormal whatever. So, the boyfriend and I found Lynnwood Grill and it was only a couple minutes away and the reviews looked pretty good. We went it and it was smaller than I expected, but the booth we were sat at was HUGE! It took us about 5 minutes to be sat, but that's okay considering it was a saturday night. It took a couple minutes for our waiter to greet us, but he got our orders square on and we didn't have to wait very long at all. Like I said prior, the mozzarella cheese sticks= amazing! I will definitely go back. Since the sauce was so good-I decided on the baked ziti not realizing I had just gotten full off the mozzarella cheese sticks. I usually despise restaurants baked ziti, but mine was sooo good-I got a togo box so i'll eat that for lunch today as well. Definitely great for the price as well. It was cheaper than I would have expected. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. It was a pretty toned down crowd in there as well, considering carolina was playing GeorgiaTech but, I think i'll be in there alot. My only big complaint is that the garlic bread was a little overdone and they absolutely flooded it with garlic. I love garlic--I mean I love it but, it was so strong-my boyfriend got offended from all the way across the large table! Tone it down a clove. : )

Pros: Marinara sauce is amazing! Good location! Great Parking!

Cons: Too strong on the garlic!

Great Pizza

by thesociallight

The Lynnwood Grill is a neighborhood sports pub off of Lynn Road and Glenwood Avenue. A rustic, casual and comfortable decor with a large U shaped bar sporting plasma TVs for all sporting events. The staff is friendly and helpful. A bustling kichen where pizza is hand tossed with a unique sauce with lots of garlic, a great crust that's not too stiff and not too floppy...it's just right. To quote a friend, "It is very flavorful." It was one of the best pizzas that I have had. My friend also told me that they had the best hamburger in town. So I will have to go back for that! Live music Wednesday (Jason Adamo, great singer, songwriter) through Saturday. Lots of parking. This is a fun sports bar with great food! Go check it out! The Social Light

Pros: Great pizza, big parking lot, fun people.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Surprisingly Delicious

by cpheels

For some reason, I didn't think I'd like the Lynnwood Grill - the strip-mall setting, and even the name "Lynnwood GRILL" made me think some fry cook would be serving up second-rate burgers in a basket. I couldn't have been more wrong. This restaurant's menu offers a lot of choices, staying true to its "bar & grill" roots by offering pizza and sandwiches, but branching out with a large selection of fresh salads (I have serious cravings for their chicken salad salad), and an array of gourmet pizzas (the Chicken Pesto Pizza was awesome). And it's conveniently located right next to the movie theatre, so we always plan to go to Lynnwood before movie time. Service had always been courteous and quick, and the prices won't break your bank.

Pros: Great Food, Good Service, Conveniently Located

Pay your AC bill!

by mpeggiel

Heard good things (mainly from Citysearch) so I decided to go. Food was just OK. Service was average. Temperature was about 95 degrees outside and inside was even hotter. We sat by the door and when it opened, it felt like a cool breeze. Imagine that...it was 95 degrees out and it felt cool! Won't go back...

Pros: Uh, parking!?!?!

Cons: Get an AC unit that works!!!

LOVE the shrimp pizza and shrimp salad!

by beckytolme

The perfect combination of fresh, delicious food and a casual, welcoming atmosphere. There are great menu options - you can't go wrong with the selections of pizza, salad, sandwiches, appetizers and drinks. And the service is friendly - there is good music, cool decor and a happy vibe. No wonder there are so many regulars. The Lynnwood Grill is a gem. We love it and go there anytime we can.

Pros: Easy parking, next to movie theater, patio seating

Love this place!

by lemonrn

Just returned from another delicious meal at the grill! We sat outside on the new and improved patio area. This is a great place to meet a group of friends for food and/or drinks. The food is always excellent! (All ten people in our party enjoyed their food.) The pizza is my favorite! The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and casual. I'll be back soon! Don't forget to try the pickle chips!

I love this place! They have great beers on tap, friendly staff, delectable pizza, and great daily drink specials! I'd come every day, but I think twice a week is enough. I recomend the Specialty Pizzas and the Monster Ale they have on tap.

Great Food Great Service

by jennusc02

We ate at Lynnwood the other night and it was fantastic! We has the thespian pizza which was recommeded by our waitress and it was AMAZING! We were really suprised to find such great pizza in well, seemingly a bar. We also tried their fried cheesecake for dessert and we were delightfully suprised at how yummy it was. We definately recommend checking this place out! We recommend our waitress Susan, who was just as helpful as she could be. Oh, but if you go on a night when there's a band...SIT OUTSIDE! It can be really loud so outside is the perfect place to be(weather permitting).

Pros: Service, Great Food, Drink Specials

Cons: a little smokey

Great for late night!

by carolinagirl1974

Had a great time at Lynnwood. Went on a Thursday night. There were 2 guys playing guitar and singing. The patrons were singing right along with them. Ted, the owner, is very friendly. The service was excellent. All of the bartenders and wait staff seemed to be very attentive. It is small but cozy. The new outdoor area is very nice-- tables, white fence and lighting add to the cozy atmosphere at Lynnwood. They have live entertainment most nights. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Pros: cozy, owner, music

Cons: small
