Never waited more than 5 to 10 minutes in the 4 years my son is going there. Always get 3 reminders ( phone call - email - card in the mail). They always tell you the price what it is going to cost ahead of time. Never any surprises.
They are expensive, but you pay for some quality work and service.
I wish I had a dentist like that office when I was growing up.

I had strong recommendations from numerous people to visit Dr. Chambers from people I know from work and personal life.

I have a 3.5yr old girl who I wanted a simple check-up and teeth cleaning. Not one, not two, but three hours later, Dr. Chambers, the professional pediatric dentist finally saw my little girl. By this time, my daughter and I were bored, tired and even hungry.

The nurse escorted my daughter out of the room to give her a prize for behaving like an angel while Dr. Chambers explained his inspection. I was told she needed four crowns. Four Crowns. and extensive additional work on two more teeth for a 3.5 yr old girl.

I was not provided any options. There was no recommendation even after I explained I was recently divorced and had no money. Can you imagine how nervous I was feeling as a single, budget dad or as if this was my fault?

My co-pay to leave was $17.00 dollars and that was about the only time I smiled, because I knew we were leaving and I was not out of pocket a lot of money. Then I inquired about a follow-up visit to get some work done for my daughter and an estimate total quote. $1500 out of pocket after insurance. Yes, $1,500 for six teeth to be worked on a 3.5 yr old little girl. That equates to $250 per tooth.

I luckily went to get a second opinion from another pediatric nurse. She explained a vast amount more information in less than 45 minutes vs. my experience at Dr. Chamber's facility. I was quoted $200 out of pocket vs. $1,500. My daughter will only need 1 crown which was my decision and some filling work coupled with my pro-active work needed at home.

Those of you looking for an honest, practical opinion about children's teeth - please visit Dr. Jenny Jackson @ 76 Peachtree Road, Suite 100, Asheville, NC 28803. That is who my personal dentist recommended and her facility is: Clean, fairly personable staff and easy to work with. My daughter was introduced to Dr. "Jenny". She walked up to her and hugged her. That "sealed the deal" for me. Children are a good choice of character and she did not behave as relaxed at Dr. Chamber's. Also, Dr. Jenny is sincere and genuinely cares. I felt it. Some may read this and think I know this woman. Never met her in my life but am very glad that I did so.

My summary: I am sure Dr. Chamber's is a nice man, but he quoted me questionably over seven times the price of another pediatric dentist down the road. He knew I was in debt from a divorce and offered no options....other than financial options to get his money. Unacceptable. I will never go back let alone it seemed too busy to receive the kind of attention my daughter deserves! Good luck I would not recommend him to anyone I know. Especially when you pay more for a specialized doctor's practice.

Dr. Baechtold is wonderful! My children have been using this dentist for several years and we have never had a problem. My kids are never scared about going. The waiting room is wonderful in both offices and the staff is super. We do get reminders of appointments and get immediate answers to any questions or concerns. We drive from Brevard (45 min.) just to use them. I highly recommend!

I don't mind agressive marketing but this practice goes way to far. After $400 repairs to good looking baby teeth we began to get letters from their office wanting a cleaning ($150) for a six year old boy. We ignored them until we received a FINAL NOTICE to remove my son as a patient unless we scheduled a cleaning. AND... the most insulting is that they threaten to remove any siblings as well, no matter if they are current or not. I called to complain and all I got was that they have the best interest of the child in mind. Hah! if that's true, then why do they threaten to remove the siblings. Whatever happened to genuine sincerity?

I do NOT recommend this practice. Sounds like they have to many patients anyway.

PROS: cleanliness
CONS: wait time in the chair for a nervous child was more than an hour

I have tried to today to make an appointment for my son. I was denied services by William Chambers office. They tell me my children have not attend regular 6 month check ups. So if you can not have your children there for regular 6 month check ups(payments) then they will cut you off when your child is in need. Also, my daughter had work done that was very expensive and for them to turn there back on us is very telling of what they are about.

This is a children's practice. We had a little difficult finding the dentist office the first time, but once there, the experience was very nice. There is a beautiful waiting room for the children and the wait was not very long. Children are brought back to be examined alone (to reduce anxiety we were told). My children both said they were not frightened enjoyed the experience. In front of me, they were then given specific at home tooth cleaning instructions and some free goodies (toothbrush, flossers and a toy) The price was higher than expected.

PROS: Clean waiting room with toys for children, friendly staff
CONS: Expensive, location is tucked away.

My children go to this dentist, and although the dentist's in this practice are very good, the customer service given by the office staff is AWFUL! They never call and give appointment reminders, and you are often running after them to get appointment times and dates.
