My service from BFAH has been excellent. Over the past 10 years I have found the vets, service and professionalism to be superior. I am there quite a bit, as I have 4 dogs and a cat. I was shocked to read the review about "Blue Flint kills dogs". Frankly, I do not believe what was stated; sounds to me like someone has as axe to grind and wanted to hurt that business. I recently moved and now drive 30 miles to get my pets there. I will continue to do so, as I trust them 100%.

I'm the original poster of the review titled "Blue Flint Kills Dogs" and I wanted to reply to the person who suggested my next visit would be better. Are you out of your mind? Do you think I'd ever, ever trust them with another animal of mine? My dog was seen by three separate vets after the botched surgery and none could even convince Blue Flint to share my dog's medical records - nor explain exactly what went wrong during the surgery so that they'd know how to proceed. Outrageous! I still have the photos of the wavy, jagged foot long incision and the hand shaped bruises that were on my dog's abdomen.

What is a satisfactory level of care for one pet owner doesn't always come close to even being adequate for another. Vet reviews are always subjective. We each have unique pets with unique health issues and thus a different set of experiences with our vet. I didn't expect anyone at Blue Flint to be a miracle worker, but IF my dog had really mattered to any of them, they'd have cooperated. Instead, I was pushed out the door very quickly and my dog's records - the only thing that could have served to help another vet treat my dog in time - were held hostage. One vet was even hung up on when he called Blue Flint and asked whether or not my dog's spleen had been removed during the surgery. I'm sorry if you don't agree, but I find that to be unacceptable behavior and in no way in my dog's best interest. Quite the opposite.

Please don't reply to my post simply for an opportunity to give this business a 5 star review to boost the overall score. I'm glad that you're happy with the quality of care you get from Blue Flint. I believe most people would leave a positive review unless and until they are harmed by a business. You're just on the lucky side of the fence right now, and hopefully that's where you'll stay. My review is of no value to an "ignorance is bliss" pet owner and that's not who it's here for. The people that will value my review are a different kind of pet owner and they know exactly who they are.

Overdosed my cat then said that I should have ordered a blood panel first. Who's the vet and who's the client? Classic "cover my bum" move after the fact. BTW my cat died not that they care.

I know the vets are only human but gimme a break. If you make a mistake at least own up to it. I guess "human" and "humane" don't go hand in hand at BFAH.

I have been taking my animals to Blue Flint since I moved back to NC in 1999. Without fail, the staff there has shown nothing but kindness to the animals in my charge. I do independent rescue and there are times that simply nothing can be done for an animal that has been too long badly treated. On those occasions when I had to have one put down, Blue Flint has been kind and gentle as they helped release one from the pain of this world. When there was anything at all that could be done, they were happy to help in any way and would call me at work and at home to check up the condition of the ailing patient or let me know how they were faring in their care. I have received cards and letters of condolence when I didn't even know that they had been informed of a death in my four legged family. Though I know they might run a little high on prices, this is one of those rare times when you do truly get what you pay for and their compassion and assistance is worth every penny. If you want your animals treated as the joyful, soulful friend that you love, rather than just an animated pelt, take them to Blue Flint: you will not be disappointed.

Blue Flint helped my family and me when our cat was really sick. Our cat Ashes had a tumor pressing against her spine and they had no choice but to put her down. We understood why they had to put her down. Its better to do that than to let her suffer. So if you have a animal in need of help bring them to Blue Flint Animal Hospital, the staff is nothing but kind and gentle to their customers and patients.

I work at BFAH and personally I think Blue Flint is the best animal hospital in this area and I'm not just saying that because I work there. The doctors at Blue Flint really do care for your animals and do everything in their power to make them comfortable even if it means taking them to their own home at night and bringing them back in the morning or coming in at 11:00 p.m. just to keep an eye on them. At Blue Flint I have seen the doctors do really amazing things when it comes to treating an animal and they have a strong passion for doing what they do. In my opinion if you really want the best for your pet bring them to Blue Flint.

We have 6 pets, one dog and five cats, and are at the vet's office half of the year for just normal yearly visits! This past summer we noticed that our smallest girl (cat), had lost weight and was not acting like her usual spunky self. After a visit with the vet, we went home with medicine and told to call if her appetite had not returned by that evening. When she was not better by the next morning and still had not eaten anything, they got us right back in there and x-rayed her stomach to find that she had a blockage and we were told that it needed to be removed right away. (We were unaware that if cats stop eating for a certain amount of time- they become anorexic). Surgery was performed, we were called when it was completed, and we went by to see her. She ended up staying in the hospital for a week because she still would not eat on her own. The doctor's and the staff tube fed her several times a day and would not give up on her. After a week in the hospital and the bills mounting up, they surgically inserted a tube in her neck so that we could bring her home and tube feed her ourselves. We would drop in at anytime during the day while she was hospitalized and they would bring her and all of her tubes into an exam room for us to visit with her as long as we wanted to stay. We took her in several days a week for them to weigh her to make sure that she was gaining it back. They also were great with setting up a payment plan for us, as I teach and do not work during the summer.

In all of the years that we have been going to Blue Flint, we have always been given the option of doing the less expensive route to a cure before the expensive one. We also lost our "first" baby right before her 16th birthday. The staff couldn't have been more supportive and caring during this very hard time for us, as we decided to send her to be creamated. They have sent us sympathy cards for each of our losses and have been great to us in both normal and emergency situations.

We Love Blue Flint!

To whoever wrote the last comment, I am very sorry that happened to you. However, coming from personal experience, and an inside look at the animal hospital from various viewpoints, I can assure you that there are no intentions of being rude, heartless, cold, or un-caring. The staff at BF is dedicated to giving you and your pet the specialized, compassionate care you deserve. In your case, there was an obvious misunderstanding. There should never be an excuse for anyone to be treated that way. If there was a problem with a certain staff member, it should be reported and dealt with promptly. I am certain that if you have any other experiences with BFAH, they will be pleasant, and worthwhile.

My dog is dead because of Blue Flint. If you truly love your animal, take it someplace else. Don't take the risk. You won't even get an apology. You'll be treated like their number one enemy if you so much as ask for an explanation. Devastatingly bad for me and my family. We lost a loved one because Blue Flint made a huge mistake and didn't want to own up to it. Better to let the animal die than admit a mistake. NEVER go there with anything serious. NEVER have any surgery done there. EVER.

PROS: Very nice to you right up until your animal is dead.
CONS: Hateful once they've killed your animal. Rude and cold hearted.

Blue Flint Animal Hospital offers emergency care as well as normal verteranary services. The staff is wonderful and super nice. They really care about your animal just like you do. They treat all animals kind and take good care of them while they are there. The prices are good too.
