2nd Time Around....
by Jerice C.
Dr. Lane is GREAT!!! This is my second child that he will be delivering and after this one no more but will tell anyone. I recommended him to 3 of my friends and they stayed while the other one said that he was too much touchy freely, yeah right, I said but whatever. He has a sense of humor and your actually comfortable around him. You can call the office at any time and ask for the nurse to ask any questions, they will respond and have no problem. They are great and everyone should have a doctor like him!!

Great
by Amanda P.
I would refer Dr. Lane to every female that I know. I think that he is great. He is very caring and has an awesome bed side manner. I had trouble finding a GYN that I was comfortable with and a friend referred me to him and I am so grateful. He delivered my daughter on January 8th of 2009 after being induced that morning due to how big she was getting and blood pressure issues. My delivery went great and all of my OB appointments went great also. You can definitely tell how much he cares. I hope that if anyone reads this and needs an OB/GYN that you will definitely use him. You will not be disappointed.

Good Doctor.
by Kanesha M.
Dr. Lane is a good doctor, he quick response not rush and spends plenty of time with his patients. (so you may be waiting a while in the waiting room) which is fine because it is very comfortable. He was there to deliver my first born son and I will go to him again for my second child whenever that may be. All in all, he is very good at his job and the staff is nice and when you call the after hours line there is always always a quick response so you don't have to wait long. Very very good doctor.

I found a new Doctor today!
by Michelle F.
First let me start by saying Dr. Lane is a good Dr. He delivered my second child and I had no complaints with him or the staff. I didnt think twice about returning today for my first visit of my third pregnancy . My appointment was at 1100 I got there early since it had been almost two years, incase I needed to update paperwork. The receptionist then tells me she couldnt find my chart and I had to fill out all new papers. Turns out they never changed my name when I married so this was an easy fix. She then gives me paper to update, which after looking has another patients name and private info on it.I return it and get blank papers. So then I wait and wait and I finally get to the nurse. She gets a urine sample and weight and puts me in a room. I wait for more then an hour. Then the Dr. comes in and talks to me for about 10 mins.leaves and says to undress and then I wait about 40 more min. After a quick 5 minute pap and pelvic Im told to go to an out side lab for blood work and that I cant get my ultrasound today because of the schedule being overbooked but, I can come back in two weeks to do this. I would also need to pay another co-pay. By the way it is now 2:00 so in three hours (not counting me getting there early) I peed in a cup and had a pap. No blood work , no ultrasound, they didnt even try to find/listen to the heartbeat .Overbooking shouldnt dictate the care I get. Ive worked in the medical field for many years and can understand some delays. This is unacceptable in any case. Needless to say I found a new doctor today.

Hopefully Dr Lane has learned a lesson on being too hasty!
by nicole b.
WV 2000-I thought Dr Lane was a wonderful doctor also until at 36 weeks another doctor seen me in the ER and found our baby to have a severe birth defect that should have been detected at 2 months on ultrasound, however, Lane always did his own ultrasounds, in his hurried fashion, yet charging the insurance company the price of a full standard ultrasound and missed the fact that our child had no brain, no skull, nothing at all above the eyes. Luckily he was on vacation when I went to ER for something else and nurses in triage picked up on the problem through the heartbeat even though Lane had also performed stress tests and hadn't investigated the irregular heartbeat. The entire staff of the hospital was completely speechless that Dr Lane had not seen this in the 4 ultrasounds he had performed nor the stress tests etc. Upon returning from vacation, he apologized and said it was a 'freak of nature' a rare occurrence and that I would probably go to my death bed wondering about this baby. While in the hospital delivering this child who was to die as soon as born, one of Lanes recent C-Section patients came in hemorrhaging, so again the nurses were all about Lanes many faults and screw ups. Atleast the nurses found out and we were able to plan out everything in advance and make the most of the little time we would have with our daughter. Dr Lane even prolonged my induced vaginal delivery, 2 days of labor!, even though I had a C-Section before and was supposed to have one then, to ensure that the baby died in delivery because these babies aren't normally fed or tended to when born so they can go on a die ASAP and we had insisted on buying special nipples etc. and refused to let her die of anything other than natural causes. So to anyone that reads this, I hope you a happy healthy pregnancy but please remember, it's your money, your baby and if you think something is not right, demand a 2nd opinion, another ultrasound, a retest or whatever the case may be! A smile and a friendly face doesn't guarantee anything!

Dr. Lane - Humble, not pushy!
by April K.
I came to the Raleigh area with 6 weeks until delivery. In that time, Dr. Lane came to know who I was in that short time, and respected my birth plan as much as it could be followed. He was objective in his decision making, though his personal preference is less intervention - which is what I had originally hoped for. We had a wonderful experience with him as the person who delivered our son.He let me push for longer than most doctors would have allowed so that I could avoid forceps, vacuum, or C-Section. He takes his time with each patient (so be prepared for a wait at times), and is devoted to his profession. I felt that he (and his wife who is a nurse who works with him!

DR. LANE is a GREAT Doctor, I REALLY like him!
I was his patient when he was here in West Virginia, I have 2 boys and he was my Doctor for both!
HOWEVER my second one was born on December 31, 2000 and since it was a holiday he was not on duty!
And 5 days AFTER he was born I had a brain Aneurysm, and was in the hospital for 4 months, and he and his staff was REALLY great to my family!!!!

Couldn't ask for better!

Dr. Holton has been my doctor for 3 years, and I recently moved with him to his new practice with Dr. Lane. Dr. Holton is truely a blessing from God! He delivered our son last year and we had the best delivery experience. He is so caring, and loves babies. We are pregnant again, and when he did our ultrasound he smiled and blessed our baby. Dr. Holton took his time with us, and I enjoy that his practice is small (2 doctors) b/c you have an idea who will deliver you. The office is clean, comfortable, and inviting. I also enjoy this practice because a woman (rather than voicemail) answers the phone when you call.

I moved from WV to NC and was 7 months pregnant and transferred to Dr.Lane, he met all my needs and beyond, the nurses were very nice and helpful. I used him for my pregancy and getting my tubes tied as well as an abnormal pap and I will continue to use him through the years.

Amazing!
by Jamie O.
I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED Dr. John Lane of Lane Holton OB/GYN!They are located right down the road from Rex Hospital. Dr. Lane handled me, as a very high risk pregnancy, very well. The care we received was astounding, the staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable and the waiting room had very soft reclining chairs and a plasma TV and each room has a TV which is a God send if you bring children with you. It's a two doctor office (which means either Dr. Lane or Holton will deliver you) with a real woman that answers the phone, not an endless push button menu. For after hours you call the office number and are put through to the answering service. The 3/4 times I called the after hours line my calls were returned within minutes. I was induced because of my high risk situation and the hospital gave us an induction date that just happened to be one that Dr. Lane was not on call. He, however spent the whole day going back and forth between his office and the hospital for our induction and after the office closed he stayed at the hospital for as long as it took to delivery our son. Dr. Holton is also very, very nice and also very cheery. When he came to do rounds the morning after BB was born he said "God bless your baby" and that touched a special place in my heart. I just can not say enough good things about this office!

This man saved mine and my daughters life
by April Y.
In my opinion this man is the bes OBGYN any woman could ask for...He saved my daughter from placenta previa (which means the placenta moved away from my uterus and she was drowing in the blood). I thank God every day for him.. I even gave his last name to her as her middle name. I am from WV where he is sadly missed....

Dr Fortier is an excellent OB and I couldn't ask for a better doctor. He delivered my son and I have been under his care for several years. He has a beautiful office that is relaxing and was obviously well thought out. His staff is efficent and very friendly and they work with you when scheduling is a problem. I highly recommend him!
PROS: Very skilled, excellent bed-side manner
CONS: Sometimes you have to wait for longer than you might like

Dr. Fortier was put on this earth to be a OBGYN doc. He is a wonderfully caring doctor. He delivered all 3 of my children and I feel so fortunate that he did. It is true that you have to wait a while for him to see you, at times, but it is because he is spending time with his patients. When he sees you he will spend as much time with you as you want and will listen to and answer all of your questions. That is a hard quality to find in most other medical offices these days. You never feel like he is trying to rush on to the next patient. I have had some of my appointments rescheduled over the years, but only because he was at the hospital delivering babies. Believe me when I tell you, he is worth whatever wait you may have!!! Thanks for everything, Dr. Fortier!!!!!!

When you don't have to wait that is! Dr. Fortier is THE BEST dr around but his waiting room times have something to be desired! If you don't mind waiting, then you will have in my opinion the best dr around!!
