The view was amazing, especially for winter in the mountains, which is why my husband and I finally decided to stop and try the food. We went on a Sunday and there was live music which was a plus. Our waitress, I think her name was Ashley, was great; she was honest about menu suggestions, quick and efficient, and immediately returned with anything we requested. She was conversational and knowledgable about local shops and attractions.\nMy husband ordered fish and chips which was incredibly greasy and somewhat bland. No salt or seasoning was used, just oil. I got a chicken and spinach burrito which was served in a cold tortilla; the food inside was as bland as the flour tortilla and it hardly resembled a burrito. \nThe inside of the place could use some updating (the floors are uneven and somewhat disgusting) but our waitress let us know the building is almost a hundred years old so its understandable.\nAs we were leaving an older guy with white hair, who I think was a manager or owner, was seemingly drunk and berating his employees at the front desk/entrance; it was extremely tacky to do in front of customers. I couldn't help feeling sorry for the employees. He was basically degrading the poor girls in public. \nThe view was spectacular and the service was great; the food was barely edible and the manager/owner was offensive and unprofessional...can't see myself going back there

Location location location....the veiw is really cool , but the rest of our experience was pretty poor. not enough room in the dining room, had to eat in the bar. Listened to cussing employees, and I believe a rather inebriated owner?...very rude old guy with white hair running around acting like an AS#$%@^. Food was bad, overcooked and bland. Waitress was awesome though, told us about several neat things to do on our visit. Next time I'll just stop and take pictures from the parking lot like we saw several other people doing.

I have eaten here MANY times. They have wonderful food and a great bar. The food is pretty unique in my opinion and tastes wonderful. I love their live music. The best is sitting next to the windows and being able to look out on the mountains around you.

The food is very good and they have a variety from quesadillas to steaks, but even that is overshadowed by the great views, they are not to be missed! They also have a good beer selection and bar.

Canyons is a tourist trap. The food is awful. We ate there on a Saturday night. I ordered a cheeseburger and my friend ordered the chimichanga. We also ordered the spinach dip. The cheeseburger was overcooked on a cold, untoasted bun. The fries were not good. My friend's chimichanga was filled mostly with rice. The spinach dip was burned. This was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. The atmosphere is incredibly smoky. You and your clothes will reek of smoke when you leave. Skip this place if you want good food and a smoke-free atmosphere.

Pros: Nice view in the daylight

Cons: Awful food, service and lack of non-smoking tables

Very good local talent often featuring sax player, Todd Wright (jazz prof at local university) when he's not touring Europe. He plays indoors so you need to choose between mountain views or jazz concert.
Food really good every time.

From the live music, to a full bar, to the views of the Blue Ridge mountains. Canyons in Blowing Rock is a top notch restaurant. The food is served fresh and wonderful, highly recommend the fish and chips. Service is prompt, friendly, and quick. There can be long waits though, I believe they take reservations, however. WOW! Great restaurant!
