Farmer Barbara Dvm - Greystone Animal Hospital

My dog was plagued by severe allergies, and needed special consideration when it came to vaccinations, food, and environment.

My prior vet refused to prescribe my dog's hypoallergenic food unless I could show my dog was up to date on all her vaccinations. Normally, I would have no issue with this, but my dog is severely allergic to the egg proteins which are present in most vaccines.

I do believe that vaccinations are important, not only for my dog's health, but for public health as well. But there are some that don't need to be given at the frequency that is recommended since my dog is older, mostly solitary, and indoors.

To refuse to give my dog the food that she needs unless I give her a vaccination that causes allergic flares is just plain irresponsible. So, I was looking for another vet, and found Dr. Farmer.

What I liked most about Dr. Farmer (and there is a lot to like!) was that she was always willing to work _with_ me to come up with solutions about what course of treatment to take when health issues arose, since my dog was allergic to pretty much everything!

I was never pressured to take a certain course of action. We always discussed the issues and solutions together to come up with a plan of treatment that was both effective, and safe for my dog.

I originally started going to Greystone Animal Hospital when Dr. Farmer helped me find my missing cat. My cat was gone for 3 weeks and we thought we'd never see him again. I had called all the local vets searching for him. Someone else found him and called Dr. Farmer. She had my information and helped this person contact me. We switched to Greystone after that and I love the small practice (Dr. Farmer is the only doctor) and friendly atmosphere.
