I do not have experience with that particular doctor at Village Family Care but The P.A.'s that saw me were very thorough and helpful. I did have one concern however, that I wanted to share. After I went to check out at the front, I asked the receptionist for a doctor's note that covered a 2 day period. I wanted it to cover the day before I was seen and the day I was seen. The receptionist told me that the P.A. was not able to provide me with a doctor's note for both days because she had not seen me the day prior. I let the receptionist know that I work for the Dept. of Corrections and that they are very strict about having documentation concerning absences. This seemed not to make any difference to the receptionist or the P.A. who had just seen me. I also told the receptionist that I had tried to get an appointment the day prior but there simply were no openings. She then looked something up on her computer and said in a rude tone " You called up here at 4:30 yesterday and we stop seeing patients at 4". I tried to tell her that the reason I had called at the time I did is because I am on a different schedule than other people are because I work from 6pm to 6am. What I didn't tell her and should have is that I actually did call that morning but I kept getting a busy signal, no voicemail, no out of office message etc. She simply refused to give me a note for the additional day and told me that doctors will only write out of work notes for the day you actually come to the office to be seen. So If I needed to be out an additional day I guess I would need to come back, pay another co-pay just so I could have another piece of paper with an additional date. Maybe this is a liability law or something that I didn't know about, but I have never encountered this kind of problem anywhere else. I did get the feeling though that it was something she could do, but did not want to do. Needless to say, now I have to find another doctor who will work with me because the guidelines at my job are too strict to worry that a receptionist is going to decide to give me a hard time. I also would have thought that she would have recognized that I do a very dangerous job being a Correctional Officer at a Maximum Security Prison and that because of my odd schedule, she would understand why I had called the office back so late.

The staff at this office is very friendly and knowledgable. The receptionists are always so upbeat. The nurses and doctors take the time to listen and explain things. I have always detested having my blood drawn but these people are so good that I never feel the needle at all. The entire office is very clean and the waiting room has comfortable chairs and even and aquarium, which is very relaxing to watch the fish swim. Great practice for the entire family! One thing I need to say is if you need to make a left turn to get back on the road, be prepared for a long wait as there is no stoplight.
