New Dawn responds:
I can tell you first hand that we have never had a woman fire us in labor. Yes, we have a conservative protocol for risk screening for homebirths. We have a uniquely wonderful and flexible relationship with Mission Hospital. Midwives do not have autonomy in the US. Work with the NCACNM, NCMA, and NC Friends of Midwives so that midwives can achieve independence.

Dont use them expecting to get midwives who cherish homebirth. There a little to much like "conventional" docs. I know 2 people who have fired them during labor. Just be ready to transport at the first sign of anything.

Ratings_icons Wonderfully caring midwives

This is a practice of wonderfully caring midwives. They look out for you as the person and do not treat your pregnancy like an illness, but the actual wonderful event that it is. They are willing to work with you to give you the birth that you want. Parking is very short and to be desired and they do have a lot of patients so it is not always easy to get an appointment if you have a hectic schedule. All of that can definitely be overlooked for the care they provide, though.

PROS: Loving, caring midwives
CONS: Busy and very small amount of parking
