I stopped by to view the iventory on the lot of Sanford Honda and was approached by a pushy Sales Rep. I made it clear I had no intentions of buying that day. I returned a few days later to test drive the vehicle and make an offer on the vehicle. The Sales Rep was very rude and unprofessional when an offer was made that he felt was too low and refused to take my offer to the management.

I left the dealership and called the Sales Manager and voiced my concerns and gave him my offer. He also felt my offer was low but said he would talk to the GM and call me back...surprise surprise, no call back. I called back the following morning to find out that they had just sold the vehicle to another party.

While I was there I was treated rudely, unprofessionally and had sexually harassing comments made to me and anti-military comments made (at least that is how I took them beings that I was in uniform when the comments were made). I dont know if I was treated horribly bc I was a woman or a Soldier but I do know that I will not recommend them to any other Soldier on base.

Bought a used Pilot after the lease expired on an Accord. Sales experience was great and for the first year, 18 months, the service department was stellar. Then the problems started. New tires installed for a decent price. One consistently started losing air. Took it in. "Can't find anything, we'll have to take it off and dunk it. For $30." wait a tick. The tire that you sold me. That is losing air. That I have road hazard insurance on. And you want to charge me to find the leak. Hmmm... Oil change and wrong size filter put on. Thought it was spilled oil dripping onto the drive at first, but after two days, something is leaking. I got a "free" oil change out of it. Well, yeah. Since you have to take the filter off to replace it, it means an oil change. Timing belt replacement. Quoted $700. Walked out for $850. "didn't know we'd have to do so much work." Really? Just really? Then wife took in in for inspection while I was deployed. Checked out fine. Oil change three weeks later and brakes need immediate replacement ($280) and a spark plug change recommended ($340 - cause they are platinum (Autozone $4.99 EA for Bosch double platinum)). So done with the Sanford Honda service department. I feel like they are not only gouging, but taking advantage of their customers.

Had my brakes done by Sanford Honda right after I bought a brand new Odyssey from them. Then when I went to replace the rotors and pads on the van today, I couldn't lossen anything. So I went to the shop and they wanted me to pay $260 for them to do it. They said they didn't want to lose the business. All I wanted is them to lossen 4 screws that they tightened to tight. Then they said the 4 screws would cost me $25 to be loosened. Are they not running a scam up their or what. Then while changing my air filter out that they put in, I realized the one that was in their was to small. So their is no telling what other short cuts or missed steps they have done to my vehicles. If you want someone to take short cuts or make your car where you cannot work on it yourself, then go to Sanford Honda.

My 2005 Honda broke down in Sanford on a Saturday morning. I had it towed to Sanford Honda and called the service dept. and told them that I thought the clutch had gone out on it since it wouldn't go into gear at the stop light. I was told they would repair it and have it ready that afternoon or Monday afternoon. On Monday afternoon I received a call from the service tech. (Thomas) who told me that my transmission was "fried". He stated a new transmission and clutch would run five thousand dollars or more. I had the car towed to a transmission dealer in Fayetteville. He checked the car out, found it was low on transmission fluid and adjusted the clutch. He charged less than a hundred dollars and the car now runs fine. I called the Manager of the dealership and told him of the problem I had incurred. He apologized and said that the supervisor in the service department would be contacting me. As of yet, I have not heard from anyone. I guess they just got caught and don't have an explanation for trying to rip me off.

The initial experience was great, but then ..... not so much. I almost gave them a satisfactory rating just because they DID end up fixing the problems I had, it just took too much to do so.

#1. I found a great used car (a Certified 2007 Accord) on the internet at Sanford Honda. I called and spoke to the internet rep, Charles, who was very helpful. Living in Raleigh, I didn't really want to do the drive to Sanford, but they had the exact car I wanted for a good price. Better than any prices in Raleigh. I called and told them when I'd be there and I was greeted by 2 salesmen who had the car waiting and cooled off for me (It was one of THOSE days in July). The car drove great and I ended up buying it. At the time of purchase, I was told the car had new tires. The tread looked great and they did *appear* to be new. However, after a few days of driving on different road surfaces, especially newly paved ones, the one tire had a noise that was very noticeable. I took it to a local tire shop and they informed me that the tires were cupped. That the front tires were, indeed, new, but the back tires were the original 2006 tires. Good tread left, but the previous owner had never rotated them. I paid to have the tires rotated, hoping it would help, but it didn't. The sound became so intolerable I had to call the sales manager to ask them to fix it. Although I had paperwork showing the uneven tread depth and cuppage, I had to drive the car back to Sanford in order for them to replace the tire. They did, and I've had no other problems, but to purchase a CERTIFIED car with crappy tires is really not acceptable. I do take some of the blame for not having the tires checked, but they told me they were new.

#2 I had to apply for new tags, so I had a temporary tag on the car. 2 DAYS before the tag was to expire (which is a month's time) I had to call the dealership to find out where my license plate was. They told me it had an inspection stop on it. Huh? Why didn't Sanford inspect it? (The car came from SC, so it was never inspected in this state) "Oh, it must have slipped through the cracks." So I had to drop what I was doing, get the car inspected, and fax them the info WITH the bill to get my tag released.

#3 Again, when I asked why hadn't someone CALLED me to tell me the inspection info, "Oh, it must have slipped through the cracks."

So, three strikes and they're out. I won't buy a car from them again, just for the hassle. They did reimburse me for the tire rotation and alignment and inspection, but it took a month and an extra afternoon off work to drive down there to get this all done. However, I don't think I'd buy a car that far away again anyway. They were nice enough, but I felt like I had to pull teeth to get it all right.

Had the timing belt changed here as per the owners manual, car was running fine prior. Within 3 days had to return for a coolant leak, within 1000 miles car died requiring a crankshaft position sensor which they said was unrelated but it had to be removed and replaced to change the belt. Battery was dead when I went to pick it up. 2 weeks after getting it back began to sputter badly, other shop traced problem to crankshaft positon sensor. Problem seemed to clear up. Now approx 9000 miles later again having error codes that trace to crankshaft position sensor. Attitudes of service mgrs range from uninterested to condescending. Sales experience couldn't have been better. Service dept experience couldn't have been worse. Stay away.
