I have been eating at Neo China my whole life ( I am now 22 years old). It has a wide variety of food on the menu including Chinese, Thai as well as a Sushi bar!
I usually only get the Chinese food; the chicken with fresh vegetables in brown sauce is delicious and their hot & sour soup is wonderful. They have wonderful service and everyone is very kind. I also get take out there which is always just as good as eating in.

Been there several times, and service has never been great. On one ocassion, the waiter actually mocked us as we were walking out the there.\r
\r
Today I tried to order via phone for a take out. The guy on the other line, with a heavy accent, was non-caring and disrespectful. \r
\r
When I asked him whether or not the food I was ordering had any MSG in it, he said that it did, that the soup and the fried rice were already pre-made, and that it had some MSG in it already. I told him that in the past they seemed to be able to provide the same food without the MSG, after he had finished saying ""what, you haven't ate here before?"" When I said ""you know what, just cancel the order"", the guy expressed a sign of relief, almost in a mocking style. \r
\r
I am done with this place, for good. Do not really why I tried to order today. Food isn't that great either.

I strongly prefer their Chinese menu and it is very fresh, inventive and the best in the area. Not so much when you go to other areas like Thai, Sushi etc.

Large menu provides lots of choices at very reasonable pricing. Nice!

The food is fine, and the wait staff is good. HOWEVER, during my visit the was a table with three completely out of control children who were running all over the restaurant, crawling on the floor under other patron's tables, and screaming to the tops of their lungs. When I complained to the hostess, Hondi, who identified herself as the manager/owner, she told me that as a customer it was MY responsibility to confront the oblivious moms to tell them to dicipline their kids. She also said, ""They come in here all the time, and they are always like this."" My response to her was that as an owner / manager of a restaurant, it is her responsiblity to look after the dining experience of all of her patrons, and if a table's behavior is disruptive to the dining experience of other patrons, it is the MANAGEMENT's responsibility to step in and take action... not the responsibility of other patrons. By not taking action, I told Hondi that it demonstrates that Neo China does NOT care about the dining experience of their patrons. She refused to take action even though other tables were also complaining and commenting on the issue, even after I asked her a second time, and she also commented that she was ""afraid to say anything"" to the moms of the out-of-control kids.

My husband and I like to get take-out from NeoChina every now and then for a change of pace. I love their soups and their portion-sizes are very generous. The food is typically great and I would definitely recommend it.

Neo-China's atmosphere has a wonderful modern look with intriguing artwork. Their Chinese dishes are authentic and never too greasy. They will even fix their dishes w/o msg etc... whatever you need to make it healthier for you dietary needs. One of the top Chinese restaurants in the area. Lunchtime combo plates are fairly economical.

I'm new to the Raleigh area and was looking for a decent chinese takeout place. After reading mostly good reviews, I tried NeoChina and was disappointed. I got my usual, General Tso's Chicken, extra spicy. It was edible, but I won't get it again. It just lacked something, not very flavorful, definitely not spicy, sad overcooked limp broccoli, generally below average in my book and I'm not usually super critical of chinese food (I just want good, Americanized takeout). Of course, I can only speak for this one dish; maybe some of the chef specialties are more deserving of the great reviews listed below.

I wasn't very impressed by the food. The chicken fried rice had almost no flavor. It didn't even have onions in it, or bean sprouts. My boyfriend had the sweet and sour chicken, which was okay. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't very good. I'm really not a picky eater and usually you can't screw up sweet and sour chicken. I just wasn't impressed. We might as well stick to the hole-in-the-wall take-out place by our house for better ""basic"" Chinese food.

This is my favourite modest priced restaurant in NC, and I have been coming here for more than 8 years now and it simply gets better and better! The food is amazing and the service is always friendly and gracious. The staff takes a real interest in their customers and remembers my children by name (note to waitstaff: this is an awesome way to score a bigger tip!). The hostess is very kind and charming and the entire staff makes the place feel like one big family. The selection of food is wonderful, with veggie dishes and all meals can be spiced the way you prefer. One reviewer complained about the egg rolls; I have found that their veggie rolls are the best that I've had ANYWHERE! The seating is prompt and very comfortable and the prices are reasonable. This is a great restaurant to take the kids, a perfect first date, or when the realitives are in town. I simply have no complaints! As for it being ""American Chinese"", well, if you want ""real"" Chinese, you need to head to Beijing. I am half Chinese and I love the food. It's one of the best in North America and beats anything else in NC. Try it today!

Food was excellent. Great atmosphere (in shifts). Kids gone by 6:30. Elderly gone by 8:30. Mostly couples til close @ 10:30. I didn't notice smoking (other review), but had full bar. Must be well ventilated and drinks are stiff (Martini for $5). Previous reviews also spoke of bland. Don't be afraid of spicy dishes on menu. They are not over the top hot, unless you request it. Waiter was very attentive too. I plan on going back with my lady (of course)and taking some friends.\r
p.s. If you don't LOVE cabbage, don't get egg roll. Tastes great, but huge and overstuffed in comparison to take out places.

Gotta love the atmosphere and food at Neochina. Unlikely many places, this is not a take out place, but you can. It has the best feel for a good date and shoould be used as such.

The egg roll was so bad I tried returning it and they wouldn't let me, saying other people ate it without complaint. It seriously smelled and tasted like r otten cabbage. My waitress was nowhere to be found for 20 minutes. The manager smelled it and told me that is what cabbage smells like. It isn't. She told me to put more sauce on it if you can believe it. The aftertaste was so bad no matter how much sauce I drowned it in I was disgusted and couldn't even finish half of it. The tofu dish I had was terrible also. The vegetables were fresh but the tofu had a sour taste to it. At first I thought it may have been a sour brown sauce (?), but then realized it was the tofu. I left it all there and didn't bother trying to return it after they wouldn't exchange the egg roll. I felt robbed when paying so much for a meal that was so bad I couldn't eat anything but the rice and broccoli. I may have given it another chance with all the wonderful reviews this place received but considering the way the manager acted and the service, I will never go back there.

My wife has gotten a lot of different dishes and has loved them all. I tend to stick to the General Tso's Chicken which is always fantastic! Just spicy enough and the little whole peppers are great for the dish. We've always had good service, admittedly we go when it's a little quieter. Weekend nights we get take-out, which is always ready when we get there and packed up well. Their Crab Ragoon is awesome!

I always have a great experience at Neo China. The servers (especially Ricky) are on top of things. The food is always prepared exactly as ordered and the servings are huge. The restaurant atmosphere is great. The music, artwork, and lighting are all tasteful and appropriate. Neo China is a fabulous sit down restaurant for Chinese food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food here is pretty average. A lot of it does not have very much flavor. When I get food from here, it's usually only two items that are actually wonderful here: The egg rolls and the Subgum Wonton Soup. The egg rolls are over stuffed and yummy!! This is one of the few chinese restaurants in town that serves Subgum Wonton Soup. For those that don't know, it's basically Wonton soup with veggies and 3 meats. It's a meal in and of itself. The only downside is that it's a serving for two, but if you are like me, you can eat both anyway.

I loved the food (big points for not being too oily/greasy) - it was flavorful with wonderful vegetables. Ambience was wonderful; music relaxing; wall sculptures/paintings very nice. I didn't like that there was a smoking section, though - spoiled the taste of the food. Probably won't go back until they ban smoking!!

The food was bland with no spice and the chicken was not properly cooked. We ordered a tofu dish. Tofu had a sour taste and had a bad smell needless to say they served stale food. We explained this to the waiter and he didn't show any concern. We had to leave the food and came back home with empty stomachs. I would never recommend this place to any one.

If you want a pretty place to sit and look at then this is a good idea. However, the food is not really that great a value for the price. You can easily find smaller places with much better food and better prices, although they may not be as fancy.

There is a good variety of food on the menu (especially for vegetarians), and it's tasty. But, if you don't find what you want on the menu, they are willing to modify most orders. Beyond just ""can I have more squash and take out the mushrooms,"" they will put sauce on the side (and let you substitute garlic sauce for brown sauce), give you brown rice instead of fried or white, and might even make a meal that's not on the menu, depending on how busy they are and who's taking the order. Service is usually prompt and the wait staff is friendly and can understand English (a bonus that some Chinese restaurants don't have). The food isn't greasy - another perk.

This place is just not all that. I am not sure what triangle eaters are used to eating if they consider this to be stellar Chinese food. It just isn't. Lunch is never impressive but dinner isn't really either. Very Americanized food without much flair or spice. I would take Peking Garden over this any time.

Neo China is one of the best Chinese Restaurants that I have had the experience of eating in in my 26 years of living! The food is phenomenal, and the ambiance is great! My favorite dish is the chicken, shrimp, and angel hair. It is a delectable mix of fresh sauteed vegetables, large sized shrimp, and sliced chicken with a wonderful brown garlic sauce. I make a special trip to Neo China when ever I am in town from New York. If you've never been...It's an experience well worth it's weight in gold. 100 GOLD stars for Neo China!

neo-china is the best chinese food place in the area for takeout - whenever we feel like splurging on takeout we go here (the prices are moderately high). we always ask for their recommendations over the phone and go with what they recommend. have only been disappointed maybe twice out of a good thirty times. we also always ask for it spicy since they are a bit tame with the heat if you don't ask.

It is well lit, instead of some resturants where they try to blind you or try to see how dark they can make it. Also the food is wonderful. This is one of the best resturants for vegeterians. It is also a fair price to go to every now-and-then. Overall the it is a great place for everyone to eat, vegeterian or not.

Cons: upper priced

This is the best place to have great, fresh Chinese food. Lunch is always quick and enjoyable with hot, fresh food. Dinner is very laid back and relaxing. If you are in a hurry, don't go for dinner because the menu is so large it will take a while to look at it all.

We love Chinese food and have done take out and eat in all across the Triangle. The easy parking at the Rt. 70 location and the huge menu always wins us over the Crabtree Chinese resturant. We are always welcomed right away and lately the service has improved even more; more experienced waitstaff make a difference. The only thing I'd like to see change are nightly specials...we eat there so often sometimes I the menu becomes routine.
Special orders are never a problem here either.
