When I found this store I immediately feel in love. My feet love me too. I can now wear a pair of shoes all day without getting an attitude...everybody knows that anytime your feet hurt you are not in the best of moods. The Wide Shoe Warehouse has sizes in W, WW and WWW up size 11 for women. They now carry men shoes.

My feet are long and wide, thanks to both parents, and I have a very hard time finding any shoes to fit comfortably. However when I go to the Wide Shoe Warehouse, I not only find comfortable fitting shoes, I find several different selections that fit and I like. Many different brand name shoes! The staff is friendly and there to help if you need it but they are not pushy. Prices are moderately priced. Located close to RDU airport.

I have small but wide feet so it's really hard to find shoes that fit. This place is a dream come true. Tons of styles, sizes, and price ranges. Easy to get to, close to Glenwood Ave. & 540. Really exceeded my expectations, kind of a shoe-lover's-with-a-weird-foot-size paradise. Staff was helpful and unhurried.

You know what? The store in Raliegh was fantastic. I just so happened to visit NC from New York. I ended up purchasing 6 pairs of shoes. The service was extremely courteous and not intrusive. I stayed as long as I liked with little pressure and superb help. The workers were knowledgable and lovely. The only drawback is that there is no way to order on-line and now that I am in New York, I am not able to make purchases.
Pros: great spacious environment
Cons: lack on-line ordering services

good place to buy wide shoes
by orangest
I had a totally different experience today (9-3-08) from the lady who complained about this store. The store was well organized and neat. Both employees were quite polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They have A LOT of shoes, plenty good name brands! While it's true that they have lots in the small (6-7) and very large (10-13) sizes, I had no trouble finding plenty in my size 9 1/2WW in every type. I bought 2 pair of Trotters ($74.99 and $69.99), and when I looked online after getting home, every other place had them for at least $10 MORE than I paid. There were inexpensive shoes and sale shoes ($15 and up) and quality shoes. I am elderly and have to buy good quality shoes now and pay for it. If you can wear cheap shoes, you can save at Payless or some place like that. If you are like me and must wear better shoes or just prefer better shoes, this is a great place to find them and find a large selection. I had just about decided Cary wasn't zoned for wide feet when I found this store. Not every shoe was available in every size, but they offered to try to order anything I wanted from their other stores. It was a little tricky for me to find because it's behind trees in a little strip mall on the right side when you are going NE on Westgate. I passed it the first time. They could use a larger sign. I will definitely shop here again and tell my fellow wide-footed friends and family about it.
Pros: variety, price, service, quantity, quality
Cons: location

Mediocre offering for a huge market

I went in expecting to walk in to find a great variety of wide shoes, but was underwhelmed to say the least. The appearance of the store is ugly and considering the high prices, they could stand to invest in how the store looks. The layout of the store needs improving as well. They have all different kinds of shoes blended together, you cannot just come in and go straight to a certain section and find what you are looking for. You have to go up and down the aisles, which I did and found only one pair of shoes, which were not even wide. I only bought them b/c I absolutely had to have a new pair since my olds ones could not be worn again. I did not even like them. Most of the shoes are not remarkable and not well made from my observation. Not all are wide, either. I did not see any cute heels with great design patterns and not a great variety either. I went up and down each aisle and found nothing I liked....and I am not picky. I was disappointed and will not be returning.
Pros: Lots of shoes
Cons: Nothing remarkable and most shoes over-priced and not well-made

That lady was a grumpy old lady and she came in the store mad. Talking loud, and I stayed and watched her because I knew she was going to be he**. She didn't like anything in the store and she had the same shoe the guy had in his hand. She had the same shoe she called ugly. I felt sorry for the managers that tried to help her. She could not be helped and she came in with a set mind to argue. She need to go home and Woooo Saaaaa!
Pros: Good service to customers, selection
Cons: was not set up, but is now
