This restaurant has really declined since opening. We used to love their hamburgers. We ate there every time we went to the mall. That's why we were willing to give it 3 more tries in the last year, hoping that it was just an off night. Each time we were even more disappointed. Today it was almost empty, but the food took forever. When it finally came, it was ice cold and tasteless. This was our last time to set foot in there.

Pros: OK atmosphere

Cons: tasteless, cold food, below average service, overpriced beer

My friends and I often go to a lot of different "sports bar" sort of places both in Raleigh and in Durham. The last time we went here, our bartender was so-so, taking forever to get us our drinks, then messed up the whole billing process. Drink prices for liquor seem pretty typical, although pint prices are completely out of this world. $5+ for a pint of is mindblowing to me, esp when it's a domestic and not "premium beer." The food is also so-so, though it is edible, and there's nothing that would stand out to me as being outstanding. Your best bet at Southpoint is to eat somewhere else (ie Firebirds), you can def get a lot more value for money, including at the bar. The TV screens are nice, but, yet again, there are plenty of sports bars that have that and the same selection of games. All-in-all, if I had a choice, i'd either drive to Chapel Hill or Ale House in Brier Creek. You'll get a much better experience and definitely not walk away feeling like you didn't get your money's worth.

I am an independent consumer who is assuming that all of the reviewers who rated the food at this establishment as good either has an equitable stake in this restaurant, or have just never eaten good food. Perhaps they also think that Chili's is to die for, or McD's has the best burgers ever! My humble take is that this place provides a great atmosphere to rest from shopping all day while sipping your favorite beverage to catch up on all of the games. But if you are looking for good food, then you should pack your own lunch and bring it in with you, or skip over to Maggiano's. I've never experienced a place that could mess up a salad or chicken fingers with fries, but Champps was able to distinguish themselves in this category. Not only was the food dispicable, but it cost me $12-$14 to receive such an exclusive experience. I did not complain or sent the food back. I just made a mental note to never eat there again. I give it a one-star rating only b/c they don't allow me to give 1/2 stars.

Perfect place to enjoy dinner and the game. It is also great after spending all day walking around the mall. I love the atmosphere and the food. I definitely recommend.

If you're looking to watch the "Big Game" while having dinner then Champs is your spot. The seemingly endless TVs throughout is sure to have you watching the sporting event of your choice. The food is usually good with few exceptions and the menu prices are average, although at times it can get a bit crowded -- especially weekends since it is next to SouthPoint Mall.

Overall a great locale to enjoy a cold one over dinner with one of the best atmospheres in the area for the sports enthusiast.

IT'S YOUR TYPICAL SPORTS BAR, WINGS, CHIPS, BURGERS, FRIES. WITH A FEW THINGS THROWN
IN TO MAKE IT JUST A LEVEL ABOVE THAT. MANY SCREEN TV'S TO WATCH THE GAMES ON.
USUALLY 3 TO 4 PLAYING AT A TIME. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY. I JUST WOULDN'T CONSIDER THIS
ROMANTIC. : )

Pros: GOOD FOOD, AND MEGA TV SCREENS

Cons: CAN BE VERY CROWED, HARD TO GET A TABLE

We love to take our family here. Great for kids. Very loud, not for a date night. The Cobb Salad, Ceasar Salad and French Onion Soup are great.

Champps at Southpoint Mall is a great restaurant to catch all the UNC and Duke basketball games, just get there early if you really want to guarantee yourself a table! They fill up fast! Usually about 1 hour ahead of game time. They also have a cool fantasy football contest each winter during the NFL season. Sitting in the bar is the best place due to the most tvs being in the bar.
