I bought a kids bedroom set for my little girl back on 2008. One of the rails broke on the bed and I called the extended warranty company to have it fixed. It took 3 months for someone to come and look at the bed. During that time of waiting, I patched the rail myself because I didnt want my daughter sleeping on the floor. After the inspector looked at the bed and sent it into the insurance company, we get a letter of denial and a 65.00 bill for the inspector coming out. I called the compnay and they said that it was an unauthorized fix so they wont honor the warranty. I believe that this is wrong and I want to warn others about the extended warranty.

Glenwood Ave. store: Terrible salespeople. They ignore you when you walk in, and wait until you ask a question to even engage. But, whatever, this is pretty typical these days in retail.\r\nThe quality of the furniture quite frankly, stinks. I know they ""don't make them like they used to"" and this definitely applies to furniture these days but we are on our 2nd set of RTG Living Room furniture and it is a joke. I thought after the first one that maybe it was just us, that perhaps we are just ""rough"" on things but just read the reviews! My in laws own a sofa that is 25 years old and looks younger than our 1.5 year old RTG sofa. Believe me I am kicking myself for going back a 2nd time.\r\n\r\nOur latest sofa started ""squeaking"" (wood frame making noises) about 6 mos in but there was nothing truly ""wrong"" with it so I accepted we'd have to live with it. I made a mental note to just save a little longer and buy a better sofa next time. Fast forward to this week when our 185lb friend sat down on the thing and something just 'popped'. Looking at the back of the sofa some part of the frame is now poking out, about to tear through the upholstery. I called RTG customer service and they tell me I am 3 mos out of warranty and there is nothing they can do to help. I explained this started 6 mos in and she said ""but you never called""... I explained that it wasn't actually broken at that time...YET. I guarantee that had I called when it started they'd have said ""nothing is wrong"" and I'd have been right where I am now since the final ""break"" came after the warranty expired. Realizing I wasn't going to get anywhere with her, I asked her if I could at least have someone come out and I'd pay for the repair if it came down to it. She said ""We can't help you with that"". She was an awful cust service rep, by the way. She didn;t even feign sympathy or understanding.\r\nI bought the ""3 yr service plan"" with the sofa by the way--she said THAT only covers fabric. When I told her this frame piece was definitely going to tear through the fabric at some point she sighed and said ""Is it stained? The plan covers stains, not tears"". I give up. \r\nIf these quality issues were atypical, I think they might have been a bit more accomodating. But since crappy furniture appears to be RTG standard, and they rely on cheap prices to sell lots if furniture they don't really care. If they had to attend to all of the broken down pieces they sell they'd go out of business.

All I have to say is every single sales associate in that store is extremely rude. No one helps you and when you ask them a question they act like they are busy doing something and you are bothering them. At one point, there was about 15 men sitting on all the furniture talking and not one acknowledged we were looking for furniture. Another point we asked about a price and the guy turned to us and goes ""I don't work in this department you need to ask someone else"" in a rude way and than literally yelled for a woman to come help us (he was rude to her too). It took her a good 5-10 minutes to come help me and she was rude to me as well when I was trying to ask questions about the table. Never again. Waste of my time.

My rating would be zero stars but that option isn't available. My wife and I purchased a living room set from Rooms To Go in February of 2009. One morning in early November 2009 one of the ottomans snapped when my wife sat on it. Now, she is not a heavy girl ? 5?11? or so and about 160lbs ? and I am 6?1? and about 175lbs. We take good care of our furniture and other possessions, and this furniture is not abused or stressed past the expected tolerances in any way. A technician came to the house to repair the ottoman and I asked him if he would also inspect the couch, which was making some creaking noises. He said he had a busy day that day and would rather not, but to call if we had any problems. Then in early January 2010, my wife and I were sitting on the couch watching a movie. I got up to get something to drink and when I came back to the couch and sat down we heard a snap and the middle of the couch dropped to the floor. The frame had actually snapped in the middle under the front of the cushions. The company sent the same technician back and he said the damage was our fault, so it would not be repaired even though it was still under warranty. Then the company sent a second technician out who said the same thing. In early February we went to the Raleigh Rooms To Go store and spoke to the manager. He said he would look into the matter for us and since then has broken his promise several times to call us with updates. He also does not return our messages. In the meantime we still have to make payments on this broken furniture that the company refuses to repair under warranty. Do not shop here. Spend a little more money somewhere else and get the customer service you deserve. We will never shop at Rooms To Go ever again.

My wife and I came in here to purchase new furniture for our new home and the service we received was absolutely horrible.\n\nThe lady that 'helped' us made numerous mentions to ""the amazing weekend of sales they had on presidents day"", and quite frankly did nothing else, she wasn't even interested in selling us anything because they had ""such a great weekend"". Are you kidding me? I've never felt so cheap in my entire life.\n\nShe further stepped on my toes when she implied that I was rude because I interrupted her, to ask real questions about the items we were actually interested in and not listen to her practiced dogmatic spiels. \n\nWhat made it worse was the fact that this was all enunciated by her southern drawl which was SO THICK it made me question if I have been living here in the South for close to 20 years or not.\n\nCouple this with the fact that items look no where near as nice as they do online... and then add up the fact that nearly everything in the store won't be delivered for 1-3 months... why would you buy from here?\n\nThese guys have Bad service, bad products, bad delivery.\n\nMy advice, do what we did, go to the Room Store up the road, ask for Mark or Kimberly, they will deal with you, bargain nominally, and give you better furniture than Rooms To Go. They were friendly, honest as hell, gave us exactly what we wanted at the price we wanted to pay. They even worked with us on the delivery dates, we are now getting our furniture in 5 days. Rooms To Go would have given us our furniture in 75 days. \n\nI'm going to them from here on out for any future furniture purchases.\n\nForget Rooms To Go.

I'm not sure what location the other comments are for, but they are obviously mistaken regarding this one on Glenwood. Our salesperson was/is fantastic in every decision we've made. From purchases to warranty claims, Rooms to Go has been wonderful. In fact, my wife and I are experiencing problems currently with our Simmons pillow top as well and RTG has bent over backwards to resolve the issue. I will admit that our previous bedding was the RTG brand Tempurpedic knock-off and has issues with that. RTG has a mattress/boxspring of our choosing delivered to us within a week. Our Simmons is offering the same conflict as the previous comment; 2"" sag in the center of our King. RTG has offered everything to keep us happy and a continued customer. Rest assured, we'll always be one.

Bought a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress at Rooms To Go that only lasted us one or two years before developing deep body impressions that caused back pain and we are not at all overweight. The no flip mattress is a scam. No flip means you can't flip it - it has no padding at all on one side. This shortens the life of mattress by half. There is no space age technology in there that makes the one side last as long as two. In fact, we have read that this mattress uses ungalvanized steel in the springs which causes them to wear out. Also the springs are ""no motion"" because they are separate, only sewed together, not wired together. They start to lean and separate after about one year and then its misery to sleep on. Complaints about this mattress are all over internet, and Simmons does not honor the ten year warrenty. This store should stop selling it. Our chiropractor recommended Original Mattress Factory. They make their own mattresses and they show you what's inside - the springs are wired together and you can flip their mattresses so you actually get two sides. My sisters bought a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress for my parents for my Dad's 90th birthday, and it hurts me to realize that in a year my parents' backs will hurt after we all chipped in and paid over $1,000 for that mattress.

Their ad says delivery in days, not months. However, I did not get my furniture delivered for a month after I ordered. The day that the furniture was delivered I took a day off of work and they delivered the wrong couch. When I told them that this was the wrong couch, one of the three delivery drivers began screaming at me. They said they would not take the couch with them. I told them that I did not want the couch b/c I did not want to be responsible for something happening to the couch while I waited for the correct couch to be delivered and the delivery man became very irate. I asked one of the other drivers what his name was and he said that he had just worked with him the one day and did not know his name (obviously not true). They finally agreed to take the wrong couch with them and then they just dumped the rest of my furniture in the living room without setting it up. I called customer service and they would not work with me on the days to redeliver. I could not take any more time off of work and I told them that I could be available the following Friday, if they could deliver in the AM, and they said they could not accomodate me, they would not promise a morning delivery. I went to the store to speak with my sales person who acted very sympathetic and said he would call me the next day after seeing if there was anything he could do. He never called. I have already paid for my couch and I have no idea when it will be delivered. They made me wait a month, then delivered the wrong couch and now they refuse to work with me on a day that I can be home. They don't care about their customers at all. I almost didn't buy furniture at Rooms to Go b/c I heard so many horror stories about their customer service - apparently the stories were true. I also heard my salesman saying that ""this has to stop happening"" which I took to mean that they deliver the wrong furniture often.

See the other comments. Same with me. It's six weeks since my purchase and I'm still waiting to see the ""free"" lamp from the buy one get one free. Had to pay $29 for the 2 lamps to be delivered because in Raleigh you can't put them in the car, but they have to be shipped from Charlotte. Then the one that was delivered had a bent spindle and 4 weeks later, I'm still waiting for the replacement. Of course, I'm also waiting for the replacement for the cracked coffee table and the night stand with the broken leg which were both broken apparently with the delivery. Three faxes to the manager and salesman and still no call. Good luck with the rude receptionist who puts you into unanswered extensions for the salesman and manager. Just today I've had 3 delivery phone calls and they all conflict, resulting in 2 calls back and my third fax. Absolutely no effort at all to address the concerns of a customer. If it's not here by Saturday, I'll be the irate customer in the parking lot Sunday handing out copies of the faxes to folks in the parking lot. Spend a little more and go up the street to Home Comfort. Maybe you pay a little more, but better quality and a whole lot better service.

Before buying anything with this company, I strongly urge you to check out the Better Business website! Aside from the shoddy construction of the merchandise they sell, their customer service is even worse! Also,go to the Consumer Affairs website and check out the file they have. My experience with this corporation has been nothing short of a nightmare!

My husband and I went furniture shopping on Thursday evening. We were looking for a new Living room set. We had looked on the internet and I really liked a set at Rooms To Go. My friend had warned be of a terrible experience with them over 5 years ago. I didn't give her warning a second thought, that was a long time ago. \r\nMy husband and I went to Ashley's Furniture, Haverty's, and Rooms To Go. I loved the feel of the Cindy Crawford set we'd seen on the internet. Funny, it was the only set in the store w/no pricing sheet. \r\nI kind of had to laugh at the poor customer service we were receiving compared to the other two stores. It was as if the staff thought that if we were there to buy one of their sets, that we must be on a ""tight-budget"" and weren't worthy of their service. When I would spot a Sales Rep they would drop their head and disappear. Even an older lady that looked like a manager raced past us, unwilling to offer assistance. \r\nWe walked out of the store. I made a comment to my husband about poor customer service while two of the sales men were lounging in the chairs close to the entrance. There were three or four other employees (including the elder woman) standing nearbny swatting each other with sales papers.\r\nThis was pathetic. Even though I liked the Cindy Crawford set I just may go back to Ashley's Furniture at Triangle Town Center off of Capital Blvd (US 1 N). If I do order this set I will be sure to order on-line so that none of the slack employees get commission from a sale they weren't interested in. You can tell these people are probably paid by the hour and get no commissions whatsoever. They hide, duck, act busy, play around. Don't waste your time at the Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC store ~ just shop on-line, it's less frustrating.

Pros: Nice Cindy Crawford line

Cons: No customer service available in the store

As far as the furniture itself is concerned I have no opinion. I write this review concerned about the complete lack of customer service. I have never bought anything, furniture or otherwise, in which a company made itself so hard to work with. Once the sale is made good luck working with them you cant return anything. Delivery is a complete nightmare. I was charge $100 up front and waited 4 weeks. When they delivered ALL 7 pieces were damaged. So they made me wait another week. Unable to connect they drove away despite being on the phone with the company at the time and seeing the truck drive away. The rude conduct of customer service is almost unbearable. I implore you dont waste your time and money with this company. I know I never will again.

I should start by saying that I bought a sofa/loveseat set here a few years ago, and I'm still thrilled with the way they look. Ordinarily that's all it takes to make me a happy customer, but my experience at Rooms to Go was frustrating (to the point where I almost walked out without buying anything at all). The sales staff can smell a potential buyer from five feet away and will drive you crazy (you'll start avoiding everyone's eyes for fear they'll ask, ""can I help you?"" over and over)...and the manager tried to push products on me that I didn't want. Delivery was a nightmare.

Pros: Package deals (easy)

Cons: Annoying service
