When I lived in Boone everyone wanted to come to Tweetsie. Nothing much has changed on my return trip after 10 years. The train is great - real and a nice length. The rest of the rides are carnival grade. The shows are laughable and

Pros: Great REAL train
Cons: so so food, fair rides, cheesy INDIAN show
My mother and aunt came to Tweetsie, they brought me and my cousins to Tweetsie, I brought our children to Tweetsie and now, this summer I took my granddaughter to Tweetsie.
It's very well done, clean, safe and a nice day at the park. Tweetsie does not compare to Disney World so older children may not be as interested as younger children. It's still fun and worth the money.
Check their website for Thomas the Train and the Ghost Train at Halloween.

I took my kids here when they were 4 and 7 years old. It is great for children that size but not much older. They offer stroller and wagon rental for a small fee for those who have very small children. Most all of the rides are for small children with exception of the ferris wheel. The train ride was great except that soot from the trains stack was blowing everywhere, including in to people's eyes. The price is too high and while the food is pretty decent, it's definitely not worth the cost.

Tweetsie Railroad is a wonderful place to take your children for a fun and exciting day! It has been a family tradition for us for over thirty years and it never gets old. We enjoy going in the spring and fall because there are fewer people and the mountains are so beautiful. The prices are not bad, considering the prices of other places, but there are not that many rides for older children. The Ghost Train festival is awesome, but not for younger children!

This is a great little amusement park, however I emphasize little! There are very few "rides", and the ones that they do have are mainly for young children! My son loved it, which is great because he is the reason we went. Don't go on a very hot day, though. There isn't much to do for adults. The food is expensive, the park is expensive. The train is a lot of fun for everybody though! There is also a small train, but if your child/ren don't like the dark it's a good idea to steer clear of it.

Fun for the whole family, Tweetsie is a park nestled in the in the beautiful scenic mountains of North Carolina. You can ride the train and see Indians and Cowboys, or see the many attractions like the rain maker, blacksmith, and dancers and singers. You can even mine for gold at the old gold mine, or enjoy the many rides and petting zoo. So much to do here, the family will want to visit again and again...
