Here rating is required so I had given 1, I would give -ve ratings as much possible if I am allowed!

I been there on guest pass. 4 different staff members took my around 30 minutes forcing me to sign the membership for a year. At last facility manager 'Matthew Carroll' showed up - lier of the club (that's how they make you manager - cheat people).

'Matthew Carrol''s exact words : - Please sign up now and you can cancel any time - you have to just call us.

He literally forced me and didn't let me read the contract. He said I am in rush, if you sign the contract, you get your guest pass free for 7 days!

I repeat he literally did not let me read the contract .

So, First time I signed a contract.

Unfortunately I got lay-ff from my job, I had to move to MA and in-between I was going through tough time, I been to fitness club hardly 3 times during my 2 months. Finally I got job and moved to MA. I called the Charlotte, NC facility and rude answer was call our customer service!

Customer service asked me to prove that no club is nearby in 25 miles radius! There is as club nearby but it is 9 miles from my home at MA and my working hours are 9 to 6. It's not practical to drive 18 miles (round trip) for gym on working days.

These people just taking my money away every month. And all my problem is cheating. I do agree that I didn't read the contract but please visit this facility and the manager tricks you. All staff members are not worth of anything but lie, cheat and making you member for a year and that's it.

Other than lying and cheating they have many other facilities such as never turning AC on (rather they keep facility very warm so you're sweaty always and leave! ). Most of the machines don't work.

And again 'Matthew Carrol' - facility manager is a big lier.

Pros: Will be surprised if any!!!

Cons: Cheating, lie - lie and lie

I have been working out at the Pineville location almost every day for seven months. I have always thought it was too hot in there by about 10 degrees. I always sweat profusely, especially when I try to do a cardio workout. Almost everyone working out in there, regardless of fitness level or how they are dressed, is also dripping with sweat. This also makes the place smell pretty bad. I have complained, but the manager says the temperature is set by company standard. There are only a few small ceiling fans high up in the ceiling on low speed, so the air doesn't move much either. I'm looking for a new fitness club.

I have been a member of Bally Total Fitness for over 3 years. I always go to the Bally gym on Pineville-Matthews road in Charlotte. It seems since this past summer they have had horrible trouble with the temperature at the gym. It is so hot in the afternoon if you were to go to the gym after work. The cardio equipment also always seems to be broken. I've gotten on equipment before that didn't have a repair tag and it would either not power on, the resistance weight was clammed all the way down or it wouldn't clamp down at all. Many times I have to try a few machines before I find one that isn't broken in some form.

I had an experience today that was the worst I had ever had. I complained about the heat (again, because if you don't say something, how are they going to know that there is a problem). The guy working that I told it was hot in here to, said that he was hot too. (keep in mind, he wasn't doing any work out activities, but just working behind the counter). I asked him to make a note. He said there wasn't anything he could do. I told him he could at least record the complaint. He continued to argue, so I walked away. As I was walking away he said "It's your problem". What!? The heat is my problem!? Then I went to the treadmill and was running. He then proceeded to embarrass me by bringing out a huge fan and placing it 2 feet from where I was running! I asked to speak to the manager and I'm now looking for a new gym.

Unless you like working out in a sauna, on broken equipment, I don't recommend this gym.
