The food is always good but they need to work on their customer service (i.e waitstaff and hostesses).

Calamari was nice, excellent sauce.

I chose their Arctic Char special and then regretted it for the rest of the evening.

Meal was overpriced, bland, and obviously tainted meal. (I'm suspect of the chorizo topping) Hopefully the health department will pay them a visit sooner rather than later. Stay away from the specials because they are definitely serving food that is going bad. Thank you for giving me food poisoning Bonefish Grill.

Pros: Nice Atmosphere, Great Calamari

Cons: Serving Expired Food, Afraid of Seasoning

Bonefish is living on an outdated reputation as far as I am concerned. Typically, dinner for two of us costs between $70-90, and it's a chain restuarant, nothing unique or special. The seafood is ho-hum, to say the least. Fish, regardless of the type, tends to be presented in thin slices and, on a couple of occasions, has been less than fresh. The menu is very limited and provides few choices. The management seems unconcerned about its treatment of customers. On a recent visit, we were finally seated 40 minutes after our reservation time and then were rushed by the manager to leave so that others could have our seats. At most decent restaurants, the late seating and the rush to get rid of us would have garnered a complimentary drink from management, but all we got was the sense that we'd been an imposition when we arrived and that we'd been booted out at our departure. We will not be back EVER.

Cons: expensive for only so-so drinks and food

Having made a reservation EIGHT days in advance for a party of 12, and being assured that I did not need to confirm it, the first members of our party to arrive are told there was no reservation made. The next group to arrive are told the reservaton had been cancelled, which it HAD NOT!! When I inquired what seemed to be the problem, the manager( I do not know the name, but he was on duty Sat., 5/16 @ 6:00p) insisted that the reservation ( made in my name) had been cancelled, that he personally had received the call, and he remembered it was a reservation for a party for "two digits". He continued that in spite of "my cancellation" our party was being accommodated as well as possible...which meant a tight squeeze at tables angled in such a way it was imposssible to see or converse with those not nearest to you. There was no apology inferring that the restaurant had made an error, but insistanced that in spite of the "cancellation" ,we were, nevertheless, being accommodated without having to wait!! At no time did the manager approach the table to apologize for the obvious error or for the inconvenience, and certainly there was no compensation of any kind offered. Yet in spite of a sour taste of subtle arrogance and indifference, we did enjoy a good meal served by an attentive wait staff; but the evening certainly left us less than satisfied that we had chosen this location; and very frustrated that a well planned evening for a friend's birthday was begun in such a upsetting manner. I would hope that other patrons never have to endure such a poor attitude from someone who represents this restaurant.

We have been to Bonefish 2-3 times with so-so results each time. While the atmosphere and decor are nice, I don't find the food to be anything special. Everyone raves about the bang-bang shrimp, but I find it to be greasy with not much heat. The bread is good (and warm on arrival at the table), but the worst thing about our most recent visit is that everything was incredibly salty and oversauced. Both my husband and I agreed that we left feeling like our lips were puckered from the salt and we needed to drink a gallon water to quench our thirst. We find the service to be adequate.

I first went to a Bonefish Grill in Baton Rouge LA. It was wonderful! I was there with the Rad Cross working on the Katrina DR. We had a large group (26). We had reservation and were seated and served promptly. It was a wonderful experience. The Bonefish Grill in Cary was no different. The group was smaller but the service was still great and the food wonderful. The bar here is a little slow but still a good experience.

Pros: The food and service is excellent! The place is really nice with a different quality to it.

Cons: None that I see really. It is a bit pricey but that is to be expected with seafood and a higher class restaurant.

.

if you want a honest opinion/experience here it is.. the fish that my wife got, the salmon tasted absolutely disgusting had to sent it back and just got a refund she didn't have the stomach to handle anything else after that. the tilapia that i got was undercooked and extremely thin no meat whats so ever. thats probably the most amazing part of our experience in this dump, trying to figure out how they could fillet a fish that paper thin!!!!! to top it off lousy service, arrogant little waitresses thinking that getting $15hr(tips & salary) makes them extra special, don't fall over the hype like i did. do yourself and your wife/family a favor and keep driving a little more i don't know where & don't really care...i know i will be though next time.

Pros: great location - Weston Pkwy is no doubt the best part of Cary

Cons: disgusting overpriced food, avg/lousy service

went to Bonefish for the first time with a date who had been there many times. Had reservations for7pm--it was a wed and very busy. Were sat at 7:15pm. Server was friendly and prompt. Only glitch was my date was not served his wine he requested. Came out about 20 minutes later. Server said they had to open a new bottle and let it cool down. Food was delish-my fish had great flavor and the sauces they serve with it our awesome. Key Lime pie was tastey too. I had fish at Ruth Chris the other day and it was a complete disappointment-did not even compare. Will go again.

Cons: tables close together-obstacle course to get to your table

Numerous people have told me I have to try Bonefish, so I finally did this weekend. We had reservations and were seated right away. The first thing I noticed was the tables are pretty close together so you do have to squeeze around people to get to your table. Also, it gets really loud, so wouldn't be a good place for a first date or something were you'd actually want to hear each other. Our server was fantastic, knowledgeable about the menu, a wine drinker, and he checked on us throughout the meal. The calamari appetizer was just OK, a little too much cornmeal for my taste and the sauces it was served with were very sweet. I had the pistachio crusted trout and the fish itself was fine. It didn't have as much flavor as I would have expected though, the breading was a little heavy and mostly you could just taste the oil it was cooked in. I never would have guessed pistachio nuts were used because I couldn't taste them. The side dishes were however really good, I recommend the potatoes au gratin, not a side I see offered very often and it was a nice change from regular old mashed potatoes. I don't recommend getting the Key Lime pie. It doesn't have the right consistency, the filling is more like pudding which comes out droopy and had a bit of a grainy texture. The server mentioned they had changed the recipe and were using less gelatin, but in my opinion a key lime pie should stand up and not run all over my plate. My overall opinion is the restaurant looks nice, is not overly expensive, the quality of the food is a little better than average but not enough to make me really rave about it.

Cons: seating is crowded, noise level is high

My and my finance' have eaten at Bone Fish on several occasions. The food has always been excellent in my opinion. However the bar staff is less than friendly at the North Hills location. They have the same bar staff they've always had on a Saturday night. We normally go in have a couple drinks while we wait for a table. I got carded Saturday night(which I don't have a problem with) I handed the guy my ID and he showed it to the other bartender (both of these guys have served me before) and they denied me service. Instead of making a big deal out of it we simply walked out and went somewhere else. Where the bartenders are a little friendlier. We went to Bogart's, which have better martini's if you ask me. So if you have a faded ID not even think about going in there for a drink.

My love is Seafood, and these guys have brought it to me, THANK YOU ;)
I have tryed every restaurant around for good seafood and Bonefish is THE ONLY PLACE that does it right. Perhaps, there neighbors should take cooking lesson from the Bonefish folks.

Never have I had better food. We have dine at all the upscale restaurant in the area and none of them standup to the quality of food served at Bonefish. The service was great. We had dined at An, next door, and there is a night and day difference in these two restaurants.

We have been there at least 5 times in last 3 months period and as a family group this place has everything for any body between age group of 29 to 55.

Menu is very simple yet very exciting and has interesting variety of seafood, meats and pasta.

Appetizers are excellent and very well portioned (each appetizer serves 3 to 4)

Food is very tasty, and quantity is well balanced with the price. Staff was very helpful in helping us to splitting items as some items are big enough that they can easily split in to two.

Staff was very curious, helpful and polite.

Atmosphere is very lively yet not noisy.
We prefer booths as they are high and much secluded.

Food quality and taste was excellent.

Highly recommended for any body, however avoid parties bigger than 8, seating gets a bit crampy.

we go to the Bonefish about once a month to get our seafood "fix". We always enjoy the food, washed down with an appropriate glass of wine or beer. Our last trip we had the alaskan salmon which was perfect. Bring a group, family or significant other, you'll have a great time

THEY KEPT US WAITING AT THE BAR FOR OVER AN HOUR (OF COURSE WE ORDERED A ROUND OF DRINKS WHICH WAS A HUGE MISTAKE WHEN YOU GO TO A RESTAURANT WITH THE MENTALITY OF BONEFISH). WE HAD BEEN THERE A COUPLE OF TIMES IN THE PAST AND ALTHOUGH THE FOOD WAS NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT, IT WAS PLEASANT AND THE SERVICE WAS ATTENTIVE. HOWEVER WITH A 90 MINUTE WAIT AND FOOD WHICH HAS DETERIORATED IN BOTH TASTE AND PRESENTATION, WE'LL GO TO FINS FROM NOW ON. YEAH IT COSTS MORE BUT AT LEAST YOU KNOW THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD IS FIRST RATE. THE MANAGER OF BONEFISH WAS VERY RUDE TO US WHEN WE ASKED ABOUT THE TABLE WAIT- THIS WAS 10-21-06- I DON'T RECALL ANYTHING MUCH GOING ON THAT WEEKEND, BUT THEN WE WE FINALLY SAT DOWN AT 8PM THERE WERE 4 EMPTY TABLES THAT STAYED EMPTY THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF OUR MEAL. THE RESTAURANT IS SO DIMLY LIT THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO READ THE MENU.

I just had the best meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I had the Atlantic Salmon with garlic lemon sauce, my daughter had the scallops and shrimp with all the dipping sauces they offer and loved every one of them, son in law had Lobster tail and we all enjoyed our meals. There was nothing they served us that was not the best we have eaten and we eat out a lot. I would highly recommend dining there. We brought my 2yr old grand daughter and she acted up a little and was treated with respect and I can recommend that it is a child friendly restaurant. The service was the best ever. I am looking forward to a return visit.

Can't say enough about this place. I love this place--the restaurant in Cary. They have good seafood and the BangBang Shrimp is DELICIOUS! The spaghetti squash side dish was so good I had to look up the recipe. I'm going again next week. Can't wait.

Live in Raleigh 22 years and tried most ALL of the restaurants. This, our 1st visit to Bonefish's Cary location. and is high on our re-visit list! Called for reservation for 7:15PM for a Friday evening, requested nice table for 2. Followed the host's suggestion on where to sit, and despite a crowd, by 7:30 we were seated. Tried 2 diffferent entrees on "the Specials" menu: Grilled Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, topped with spinach and pieces of Gorganzola cheese, a side of outstanding potato gratinee (3 cheeses topped with breadcrumbs), AND Grilled Snapper with steamed garden vegetables. BOTH were equal to a 5 star cuisine, freshly prepared, well presented and on very warm plates to stay warm throughout the dinner. We tried the Mussels Josephine as an appetizer to share. Save your bread for these ... soak up the outstanding sauce bed. NOW, try a Martini beforehand - a COSMOPOLITAN (I prefer Vodka gimlets) if you want a special Martini. I requested that my Gimlet be very cold when it arrived. It was, and in a chilled Martini glass! Almost everything about this evening at Bonefish Grill in Cary was "superb". What I will never understand is why at certain restaurants which have every appearance of being an "Adult's night out" place, you "bumpt" into more than one table with toddlers and during hours you would hardly relish it. Bye the way, we have a 4 year old with better eating habits than most adults when she is with us. We simply decide where we should not take her. Aside from a high recommendation for this restaurant, that is a high recommendation for others to think about.

The resturant was excellent. There were a few things I would have considered when building to have been done differently-making the resturant bigger and tables longer but other than that i loved everything about it. It was just hard to fit 7 people on a 4 person table. But Was very nice and will be back just with less company.

We made reservations for Sat. at 6:45, arrived at 6:30 and was seated at 6:35pm. The "Bang Bang shrimp" appetizer was fantastic; it was "bangin". My wife got the Gulf Shrimp and Scallops and I got the Talapia and we were totally satisfied with the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were plentiful. The service was above average.

We have gone here a number of times and the food has always been great. While the servers are very attentive, the front door staff should all be given "attitude adjustments". Unfriendly and surly would be good definitions of the way they have acted on all the occasions we have dined there.

The fresh seafood has been great every visit. I like the flexability that the menu offers, I can have my Swordfish a variety of ways and never get board. I haven't had an appetizer that I haven't enjoyed. The price points make it a place you can return to often.

The best and most creative, inventive and interesting seafood eatery in town. The regular menu's a treat and their daily specials make selecting an entree a difficult but delicious decision. An exceptionally well-trained and caring service staff make the entire dining experience a memorable one and have you planning your next visit as you drive away. A 10+; and I'm fussy!

The food is good but the bad service and atmosphere at Bonefish make it not worth the effort. We were told to be at the resturaunt at 6:40 to be seated at 6:55 when we called to be put on the wait list. We were not seated until 7:20 with no explanation offered for the extra wait. The main dinning room was noisy. Water was dripping from the ceiling onto our table. The staff's solution was to move our table about six inches. The wait person was friendly but was obviously dealing with more tables than she should have been given. The shrimp and crab cakes starters were excellent. The King Salmon was a bit plain. The poor atmosphere ruined the dinning experience.

Birthday dinner was great here. The waiter was nice and attentive and really impressed us with her knowledge of the menu. Thanks for making my Birthday one to remember.

If you want to sit on top of someone else this is the place to go. The food was good -
especially the entree and the salad. Dessert was large but average. Coffee was only so-so. Hey, it's a chain. But thing that really bothered me is that they pack you in like sardines. Because of this it is extremely loud and we had to go through a maze to leave our table because there was so little space between tables. We went for our anniversary and I would not recommend it for a special occasion due to the crowding. Also, though not recommended for kids there were several in attendance when we went.

I hate to tell everyone how great Bonefish Grill is because then we may have to wait longer for a table! The Bang Bang shrimp appitizer is awesome! I don't love seafood, but this appitizer was suggested by our server and it was soooo good. We get it every time that we go there. I've had the Chicken Pasta and enjoyed it. My husband had the Filet and loved it also. We have always had great service and request our favorite waitress/server. I've told all my friends about the place and will bring my family when they are in town. I hope this helps you to decide where to have your next meal!

The food was bad (greasy appetizer, bland soup, overbreaded fish, bland dessert), the service was bad (took 20 mins for our order to be taken, extremely slow refills, manager was very rude), and the ambiance was bad (noisy, overcrowded, tables crowded in together).

We have eaten here several times & each time it gets better & better! The atmosphere is a little crowded & noisy if you go on a weekend night, but for a romantic dinner, you should go on a weeknight. However, go early because it fills up fast. Their Bang Bang Shrimp & Saucy Shrimp appetizers are awesome! Also, try their filet (I didn't want fish the last time we went & our waiter told me to try the filet.); it is outstanding & puts Ruth Chris' or any steak place to shame! Don't forget the desserts either! We love this place & so do our friends!

We arrived at 5:50 on a Saturday night and took one of the last free tables. Reservations are available. Entree price range: ~ $12-$20. There's a slew of designer martinis, and they run about $6-$7. There was also a wine list. All the entrees come with salad (house or caesar), and bread is served at the table and can be dipped in a delicious olive oil and pesto combination. The service was attentive but a little slow.

Standouts: Scallops wrapped in bacon with mango chutney salsa (appetizer), the Key Lime martini, and of course, the fish. My fish was cooked perfectly. I had the salmon with mango salsa--yum! My husband had one of the specials, mahi mahi with a macademia nut crust served in a rum butter sauce.

We were extremely satisfied and will definitely go back.

Absolutely delicious.

If you liked your fish with a healthy dose of flavorful sauces, then Bonefish is for your. Several fresh varieties of fish are available, as well as shrimp/scallops and pasta/beef/chicken dishes.

Appetizers: Have tried 3 so far, all are excellent (Bacon-wrapped scallops are a must) $5-10
Dinner: Entrees are 15-20 each, and include salad
Drinks: Focus on wine and martinis. $5-10
Desserts: Excellent choices, if you have any room left. ~$5

Bonefish offers a few select sauces for your fish (4 each time I have been), that complement each fish differently, and bring out a wide range of flavors. When used, butter is used perhaps too much.

Pros: Flavor, Takes Reservations, Good Parking

Reservations - Limited. No call ahead either. 60 minute wait was what they told us.
Drinks - typical Martini offerings. Wine list seemed pretty good.
Appetizers - everything looked great. We had the Bang Bang Shrimp - awesome!! Shrimp, breaded and cooked, then tossed in a very subtly spiced, creamy sauce.
Salads - House salad, which tasted good, but presentation was a little messy. DH ordered the chowder instead and it was excellent.
Entree - lots of choices. The fish was amazing. Had salmon w/ wilted spinach and gorgonzola it was superb. Spaghetti squash was a perfect side, and great for this season. Mashed potatoes were really good too - creamy and HOT.
Desert - Brownie to share. Fantastic!
Service was great.
A great dinner, and we'll go back expect to pay $100 for typical dinner.

My wife and I went in expecting fresh tasting fish and nice atmosphere. We ended up with blah food, an indifferent waitress, and an overpriced chain restaraunt experience.

After calling and being told I didn't need to make a reservation, we arrived 20 minutes later and were told we needed to wiat 20 minutes. Bummer. After only 5 minutes we were seated (it seems they are still working out the kinks).

Our appetizer and soup were pretty good but oily and not "fresh" tasting. Our server was clearly using her new training but forgot to actually look at us when she described the menu. We ordered based on her recommendation but were sadly dissapointed in the fish. Smothered in sauce and tasting like a frozen patty despite being a $20 swordfish.

As a newly opened place I hope they get better but we won't be back for a long time.
