Incredible church. Biblical and challenging! When my wife and I first visited we knew there was something different going on there - and we wanted to be a part of it!

The worship service is more eclectic than contemporary, pulling from multiple genres and incorporating modern arrangements of hymns (some hymns they use are lesser known than others), but they do have a full band and incorporate dramatic elements at times as well. The preaching is primarily expository, though they do have more thematic services sprinkled throughout the year.

The pastor is very humble but very passionate about the Lord and the Gospel. His delivery technique is much more understated than is the norm, but he has such a mature and wise approach that it really is the Scripture that speaks to you through him, rather than him just giving you his ideas.

The church body is organized around small groups which meet throughout the week at different times and are the primary avenue of pastoral care. They have a youth group and a thriving children's ministry. And the church itself is led by a group of elders, made up primarily of non-staff members (though a few are pastors in the church).

The church has a very strong missionary focus, with 20+ individuals/families in the field throughout the world. In 2009 North Wake also planted two churches, one in Florida and the other in Washington D.C.

Overall an excellent and mature church. They have two services, one at 9am and the other at 10:45 on Sunday mornings, the services lasting roughly 90 minutes. It is a Baptist church, but definitely not of the traditional type.

North Wake Church is the most Biblically based church I have ever experienced. The Teaching is presented and have avenues of accountability (small groups) that keep the teaching going in your life. The service is contemporary. The heart behind the music is incredible. Just listening to the scriptures and insights shared in between songs is amazingly challenging and uplifting. I love the fact that there is an expectation for all member to contribute. After all, we are ALL the body of Christ. The Life Change (their version of Sunday School) is Biblically based in theme or content. Not your ordinary Sunday School. Connections are made through small groups that work together to see that people's needs (spiritually, emotionally and physically) are taken care of. The heart beat of all they do is to become mature worshipers of God that take the gospel to our community and our world by how we live and apply the Word of God. The head pastor is humble and does not feel he has all authority. There is a group of elders that work with him to shepherd the church well. Amazing Church. Visit and truly experience all aspects of the church for multiple weeks to get a true grasp of the vision of this church.

North Wake Church (formerly "North Wake Baptist Church") has dropped the "Baptist" from its name in order to appeal to people who are turned off by "denominational" churches. The pastor, Larry Trotter, is an amazing guy. Very friendly, approachable and genuinely cares about you. The worship service is NOT traditional. It's very modern (drums, a worship team, clapping, tambourine, etc.) and at times (to me) it seems to be too excessive (too much hype). There's even a "drama group" that performs plays on stage. This church will appeal to those who are looking for a modern church. If you're looking for a "fresh approach to knowing God," (their motto) you'll like North Wake Church.
