Terrible customer service
by B G.
The woman doing my pedicure (Mariana I think was her name) started late and finished early, kept on glancing at her mobile phone and texting, and left me for AGES (with feet in tub, then wrapped in the hot towels) after running off with mobile phone in hand beginning texting. She also did all the cleaning of the tub while I was sitting there, in the middle of my pedicure. Every stage of the pedicure was awfully rushed, with the result that the final job looks pretty bad - lots of places where the polish has gone awry (and been left on my skin). It's extraordinary to pay 56 dollars before tip for such terrible service.

Lacking Customer Service
by Unlisted U.
I have gone to this salon for a few years. Always been generally happy with the cuts, color is fine (not earth-shattering), but I have never appreciated the customer service. The people I encounter (from the desk to the chair) are not particularly nice and treat me as though it is MY honor to be there and pay them. I pay a great deal of money for cuts, highlights and babysitting while I am there. After a recent encounter, I am calling it quits and finding another place.

I will not return to this salon
by Rachel S.
I visited and indicated to the stylist that it'd been ages since my last cut and wanted a new style, she trimmed my bangs and charged me $56 dollars without tip, with tip it was over $60. I am two weeks out from the visit and I have already picked a new place to try, 5th place within one year. Does no one in the triangle know style? Word of advice it doesn't take charging customers ridiculous rates to make your business great and I think alot of people automatically assume that if the salon is charging high it is because they perform well and this is just not the case. Keep in mind that my trim took less than $20 mins, wouldn't you like to make $56 every quarter hour? I would too.

Very satisfied client - great hair stylists and manicure
by DES70
I usually don't write reviews but after some of the recent reviews I had to give my opinion that I've been very happy with Mina's Studio and so are all my friends and family that I have referred to them over the years. I've always been treated great by the employees at the front and the service employees. I've had great experience with my hair stylists that is always suggesting new ideas and making sure I am happy. I love the facials, manicures and pedicures I get along with massage I treat myself to every so often. I come in for everything and have never had a bad experience. They've been voted best salon in the Triangle for a reason!!
Parking is great considering it is Chapel Hill and location is easy if you are in Chapel Hill or even from other cities like Raleigh because it is close to 40 (that's me).
I think sometimes it is easier to write reviews when you are unhappy but satisfied customers alot of times don't think to take the time to write so I wanted to set the record straight.
Pros: great hair cuts, hair color, manicure, facial and massage
Cons: that there are not multiple locations!

Client for Over Ten Years!
by mellobug46
I have been a client at Mina's for over ten years, and am truly shocked at the bad reviews. I have never had reception be rude to me, NEVER had them make a mistake, and have NEVER had a bad haircut. A few times they have been average, but over such a long period of time, this seems inevitable to me. I have seen four or five of the stylists there. Luann is the color guru. I always get compliments on my hair color. She has also given me some of the best haircuts I have ever had in my life.
Tsafi is an amazing stylist. I started having my legs waxed this summer, and I love it. Kati is great. I went somewhere else one month to save a few bucks and they left little patches of hair. Kati leaves not a single one!
This morning at Mina's (just when I thought it couldn't get any better) a young man came and asked if he could bring me a cappucino or latte! NICE!
Overall, I have had consistently great service at Mina's over a very long period of time. I have felt it has been worth the money I have spent there.
Pros: Consistently Great Hair
Cons: Haven't Experienced Any

Not worth it for a pedicure or manicure
by chaya143
I went for a manicure and pedicure and paid $88 not including tip. The service was the worse than I would get at other places for a quarter of the price. The only perk was that they brough me some water while I was getting my pedicure. The woman who did my nails was talking on the phone and kept getting up to talk to other people. She left me after my manicure and said she would be back to dry my nails and never brought me a dryer. Then she just told me to leave without drying them. They didn't even ask me to pay before my polish was on as most place do, so I had to fumble through my purse with wet nails. Furthermore, the massage chair I was in for my pedicure was broken and the manicure only lasted 2 days before it started chipping.
Pros: none
Cons: cost

She has a charming personality takes her time to make sure everything is done to perfection. Best waxing ever and highly recommended.

Giving up on Mina's, too.
by mixedberry
If you are planning on trying to let your hair grow, like me, then don't go to Mina's. This is the second time that I went in for just a "trim" and explained to the stylist that I was trying to grow my hair long and she cut it...short...again. A friend of mine went to Mina's about 2 years ago for a trim as well and they cut off 4-5 inches of her hair. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but will do so no longer. I heard Sling Blades in Durham and D.B. Sutton in Chapel Hill are pretty good. I'm highly disappointed in Mina's.
Pros: Example: best croissants in town
Cons: What are the drawbacks?

Finally giving up on Mina's
by brantrocks
I've been going to Mina's for haircuts, highlights, etc. for a couple of years now. The hospitality and service has diminished with every visit. The receptionists have taken wrong types of appointments I've requested (asking for a cut and being written in for a style), taken the wrong time, and called me to leave a message changing the day of my appt. w/o speaking to me first. Last week I officially got the worst haircut I've had in years, after waiting in the lobby for 25 minutes past my appointment time. The stylist seemed rushed and uninterested in what I wanted. I wasn't even given a robe when my hair was washed. Water dripping all over me! The prices are way too high for the low level of service and now inadequate haircut.
Cons: service, staff, value

Molly is fantastic for eyebrows at Mina's Studio!!
by nadi1010
I am a student and could never afford a haircut at Mina's, but am willing to pay a little extra for my eyebrows. I have thick, bushy eyebrows and Molly ALWAYS gets them right. She is just wonderful! I always get compliments from people after she does them-she never overplucks them, just makes them look perfect. And she is soo fun and easy to talk to!
My only concern is that the price for eyebrows has been raised from $20 to $22, and I REALLY REALLY hope the price doesn't go any higher, otherwise I'm going to have to look elsewhere, and that would be a shame, cause Molly really is wonderful!

Angela is amazing at brows
by thirdandflores
I am extremely picky about my eyebrows. I recently moved from Los Angeles and have not had my eyebrows waxed since moving here for fear of my brows being left a thin, asymmetrical mess. I used to go to Jasmine at Anastasia's in LA and I was sure that no one could do as well as Jasmine...until today. Today, I had my first appointment with Angela at Mina's and she is AMAZING! I strongly recommend her. She trimmed and waxed, and left my brows perfectly symmetrical and beautifully shaped!!
Pros: professional, clean, talented stylists
Cons: none

Overpriced, poor service and bad attitudes
by marianrhodes86
I tried Mina's 3 times in the hope that I would enjoy my experience a bit better the next time. In each case, the reception at the front was less than welcoming and almost rude. I've been in customer service for over 10 years and I couldn't believe that attitude was acceptable to the management. The cut and style I received cost $56 and I walked out with my hair still wet underneath despite a request to dry it thoroughly. The cut was too layered in the front and requires growing out before I can have it fixed. It was not a good purchase. I did have nails done another time and the tech was very friendly and did a nice job. However, I would not recommend this place because the front reception is less than desireable and the hairstyling is not worth the price.
Pros: location
Cons: ambiance less than desireable, limited parking, bad service

Angela and Holden were great!!!
by JaneKF
I have had many brazilian waxes in large and small cities and Angela is one of the best estheticians I've had. She is the most thorough, is very quick, and made me feel comfortable. Angela uses a hard wax which makes the hair come off fast and gets even stubborn little hairs. She got everything! Highly recommended.
Angela also did the most thorough facial I have ever had. She took the time to explain everything and even recommended great products. I felt so relaxed and my skin looks great. I immediatly scheduled another appointment.
Finally, Holden cut and colored my highlighted blonde hair. She did exactly what I asked and gave me the BEST haircut ever. I have NEVER had so many compliments!!! Seriously, everyone is complimenting my hair...which has never happened to me before. I am so happy with my hair. Also, I am able to style it just like Holden did at the salon quickly and easily which is more than I can say for anly other haircut I've ever had. It is truly incredible. I will definitely go back.
Pros: Very thorough facial and brazilian wax and great highlights and cut.
Cons: Would be great if they would offer more perks for the money I'm spending...like getting a drink FOR me and offering a snack since I was there for 4 over hours.

Mina's is Fantastic!
by hallcm1
I just had my first haircut with Alejandra, and she was WONDERFUL! I moved to the area 2 years ago and have been searching for someone who can cut my hair right (I have very fine, but thick cork screw curls). I've actually been flying back home to get a cut. I've gone a year without a cut, as I am very picky with who cuts my hair. I had my last stylist for 10 years.
I found Mina's on line and reviewed the BIO's of the stylist and chose Alejandra, as she likes working with long hair and curls. I had to drive 30 minutes to get to the salon, but it was worth it. The salon isn't as upscale or intimate as I am used to in South Florida, but the results were superb. Alejandra listened to what I wanted and spoke to me about what she thought would look best.
The salon itself is small, and yes, it is busy. Alejandra, one of the owners, did step away from me several times to assist another stylist. I actually thought that was great! Instead of "winging" it like some stylists, those at Mina's took great pains to insure that they were doing what was best for the client.
When I got home, my daughters loved my hair. The first thing one of them asked was if she could go have hers done to repair the damage from a cut she got 2 weeks ago from one of the other "best" salons around.
While the salon is pricey, I will be back. Ambiance and pampering are nice, but the bottom line is I want a good cut.
Pros: Great stylist
Cons: It's in Chapel Hill!

Almost the Perfect Salon
by consumer08
I have been to Mina's a number of times and while I like it, it could be better, especially factoring in the cost for services there. I love that they give you a jacket to wear while you're getting your hair colored! I like not worrying about my top getting hair dye on it! I see Kelley and she listens well and does a great job with cut and color. My little bugaboo is that for the cost and ambience of the salon I feel clients should be pampered more. The reception folks don't come across as friendly or attentive. It really annoys me that when I'm figuring out the tip when I check out that I'm only told the total amount with products added in. I always have to ask for it to be broken out for me and it's like I'm the only person who ever asks that. I also am surprised that water is self serve - like "go get yourself some water if you like". It's good water, but every other salon I've been to would offer and bring it to me. Unless you're actually being worked on you kind of get ignored by everyone. Other places I've been to had staff that would smile at you, acknowledge you, ask you if you need anything - just little courtesies. I like the result of the work and my stylist, but it sometimes seems like a big styling factory with a big price tag. I would still recommend Mina's based on how well my hair is done, it would just be nice if the overall feeling of the place was warmer and more client focused.
Pros: expanded hours, parking, product lines, good stylists
Cons: big and busy, impersonal atmosphere, cost

Be Careful what time and day you make your appointment
by ncca
Alejandra is a good stylist IF the salon is not busy. She's the owner, and yesterday she cut my hair and wasn't listening to a word I said. Other stylists kept talking to her and she was looking around the salon the whole time. She cut my hair way too short in front (even though I was saying to not cut it above chin level) and thinned it from the SCALP, so it will take two years to grow back, when I was telling her I didn't want it thinned at all. After she was done, when it was less busy, she told me she couldn't hear what I was saying. So why nod and say ok?!?!? But, she cut my hair once before when the salon was empty and did a fantastic job. So, if you can schedule your appointment during a down time, go for it. Otherwise you risk your hair being ruined. Personally, I now have to go buy a bunch of clips and a hat.

Stylist Attention to Detail
by emirenee17
I had my hair done by Shelia today and she did a fantastic job! The highlights are great and the cut is excellent. I am moving away from the area and feel that I need to share the word about my wonderful experience with Mina's. I always remember at the last minute that I need my eyebrows waxed and Mina's is always able to fit me in before my hair appt. Shelia is incredible with both her coloring and cuts as well as product recommendations. I like that Mina's carries products from Aveda and Bumble and Bumble (I'm omitting others since these are my faves) and Shelia has always recommended the best of each line if I need shampoo, conditioner or a stylng product but even more important, she does not pressure as some stylists do.
I was disappointed today since the front desk did not have me checked in for my appointment as scheduled so Shelia and I got started late on highlights. Shelia was incredibly apologetic and acommodating and even more importantly, did not rush through my highlights as some would have in a similar situation. She even discussed the problem with the owners so that similar complications did not happen to other clients.
I would defintely, no reservations, tell my best friend to see Shelia for her next color and cut!

Great haricut by Tsafi
by artofliving
If you are looking for some lively haircut, i would highly recommend Tsafi. She is a really good listener, and has absolutely no egos. I had a great hair designer in atlanta and after moving here i had been dreading to try out new hair salon. I was recommend this salon by a friend of mine, and thanks to her i found Tsafi. I told Tsafi that i want some lively haircut since i am tired of just simple layers. She gave me an excellent razor cut with lots of bouncy layers and an angled look on the front !!!! I love my hair even more now and have got lots of compliments from my friends. Thank you Tsafi you are the best !!!

Best People Ever, Stephanie and Holly
by kgheart
Ever try to color your own hair? I did, and then promptly set up a free, yes free, consultation with my stylist at Mina's. She explained in detail how she could fix it......but not then! My confirmed appointment had to be cancelled by an out of town emergency. When I called for a new time, Stephanie had no availability, but suggested her sidekick, Holly! I won in all respects....they spoke about my hair before I came in and exchanged thoughts throughout the process. I came out better than I had been before this all started!!!!! Thank you ladies, for laughing with me, not at me, and for making me better. You are the best!!!
I went to another shop in the galleria where I ran into a new Chapel HIll resident. She complimented me on my hair....cut and color.....and I pointed her directly to Mina's and my ladies!

by automechaniker
I just got my cut and color done at Mina's Studio last week. Wow! It was the best experience I have had at a salon in a long time. I made an appointment there on a friend's recommendation. Everyone looked stylish and professional. The front desk was very friendly and helpful with all my questions. My stylist really took the time to design a look for me that is easy to style and flattering. I have complete strangers come up to me and ask me where I get my hair done. I already made my next appointment (something I never do). If you are wondering what the buzz is about with this salon, check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: Great service, good location, punctual
Cons: Difficult to get appointments on short notice (plan ahead)

Not Impressed
by list
I was not impressed by my first visit to Mina's Studio. I found the atmosphere to be very bland, the staff was not as professional as hoped and the prices for a haircut and color much too high for the quality. For what I paid, I would have expected to leave the salon feeling relaxed and beautiful (if only for a short while), but I left feeling ripped off with an urgency to find a new beauty salon.

If you wanna be happy with your look, go elsewhere
by cbkarg
I am absolutely appauled that there are no responses to the bad comments. A respectable business would try and get back the clients they lost by readjusting their staff and offering a deal or a free service. Obviously Minas has no clue and if they make it 2 more years in the business I will be shocked. Get off your high horse and hire people who truly care about their job and the customer, who pays your check!!!!!! I recently got married in October 2007 and had a terrible experience at Mina's. I was unhappy with my wedding updo and the stylist could have cared less. I feel as if he wanted to do what he wanted to do and it didnt matter what I wanted. I was almost in tears until the other stylist, the only nice one that I came into contact with, I had 6 girls with me and went around to all the stylists, knew that I was upset and at the last minute changed my hair. I really appreciated her but if I had told, ENRIQUE, I am sure that he wouldnt have cared. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I paid good money and did not get my moneys worth. PLEASE save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else!
Pros: good water
Cons: expensive, unhappy, most important day of my life stressed

Think about it.
by foxtrot1234
I'm just amazed at some of these reviews. First of all, thank you to whomever took the time and energy to relay positive reviews about Mina's Studio. Often, we focus on the negative and people are more apt to state the bad stuff. It takes more energy to be positive, so many people are lazy and default to being hateful. Secondly, To the people being hateful: when you gripe about customer service and bad attitudes, are you looking at yourself to see how you are treating the staff? Perhaps they may have been rude - we all have bad days - but perhaps is it possible that in fact, you, the client, could have been difficult to deal with? Perhaps you brought something into the fray. And I'm sorry to tell you, but the customer is not always right. Those who say that are willing to get anything to get your money. Mina's apparently is not like that. It seems they step up for their employees and try to be on their side, while trying to be fair.
And finally, I have been a loyal customer to Mina's Studio for the past year, and I have seen how busy and noisy it can be. But it's a popular salon! And people love to talk to their stylists! And I saw that one of the reviewers listed a "con" as having to wait in line at the front desk. Please everyone, have patience, compassion, forgiveness, and humor. And honestly, from one who has been in the customer service business for many years, I realize, as should you, that one bad review from one isolated experience can ruin the reputation(and income!) of those who are truly doing a great job, and may have had nothing to do with the one bad apple. Thank you for reading...
Pros: knowledgeable, friendly staff, open late evening and weekends

Excellent hairstylists, courteous staff
by llphilpo
I've been searching for a stylist and salon I feel comfortable with for a few years now since my old stylist left the salon I used to frequent. I ended up coming to Mina's in March based on good online reviews, and I've been coming back ever since. My stylist is Heather and she's great at giving me a cut that not only works with my hair type but also fits in with my personal style. You get the sense that she really listens to you during the consultation. I've also had my hair cut by Enrique, who is less talkative during the consultation but is excellent at what he does.. he pretty much gets down to business and makes you look good. What I like about both Enrique and Heather is that they give me a style that's appropriate for my age (early 20s).. not too boring/conservative. I haven't had any issues with the front desk staff, they've been nothing but friendly and courteous with me. It's easy to relax in the salon, I like that the atmosphere isn't too snobby (which I've had an issue with at other salons in this price range). The staff isn't pushy with the products at all, but will gladly recommend items for you if you ask.
I've seen a whole range of people who come to Mina's, mostly women, a few men. I'd say that most of the clients tend to be older than myself.
All in all, I think Mina's is well worth the drive (I live about 30 minutes away) and the money (on the pricey side for me, but you get what you pay for). Definitely my favorite salon out of all the ones I've tried!
Pros: professionalism, service, good staff attitude, excellent stylists
Cons: slightly pricey

I have had a couple of massages from both Heidi and Sara and eventhough they have very different styles, they both were excellent. Each of them gave me tips on how to keep my muscles and skin healthy. I would highly recommend both and hope to see them soon! What a great addition to Mina's studio

Cons: front desk can be a little aloof

Great Customer Service

I had a great experience with the staff at Mina's! I called last-minute for a special event and the front desk worked me in to get a highlight/cut before an important presentation. Not only did I have a great presentation, afterwards, I got a lot of compliments about how great my hair looked. Luckily, I had grab a couple of business cards before I left and I was able to pass them out to some co-workers. I'll definitely be back!
Pros: great staff, well-educated, nice!

what in the world are you guys thinking?!?!?
by babw
What the heck!!! Mina's should be ashamed for the attitude problem they have. No one should ever be treated or talked down to like that. They shouldn't justify what they did, but try to apologize. One of the first rules in customer serivce is knowing that the customer is always right. They are the ones paying your rent.
You guys might be voted best in whatever.... but those are only titles. You guys need to live up to the name you have established and act like adults instead of playing the blame game. Just reading your recent responses to people shows your employees character. Your earlier responses to people that gave you great reviews shows how you guys think of yourself on this great pedestal. You have let your egos and titles get the better of you. I am saddened at the thought of ever going to you guys.
Pros: after reading that, none
Cons: attitude problems

Color Nightmare
by ak819
I got all over color here and the stylist told me I could wash my hair the next day, so I used Neutrogena Daily Shampoo and Bumble and Bumble Super Rich Conditioner. When my hair dried it was literally Olive Green!! I am not making this up or exagerating. It was green. I went back in the next day so they could fix it and they blamed the shampoo. When they fixed it I asked the stylist (same girl) to put my hair back like it was when I first walked in, which meant matching the golden blonde highlights I already had. I thought this would be a "safer" option than the all over color which turned green. She put on a color remover treatment, then an all over brown, then golden blonde highlights. The result was chunks of maple brown and brassy gold. The worst part, was the chunks of brassy gold didn't even line up. The top of my head looked like a checker board! I had to catch a plane for FL for a business meeting so I had to deal with it and leave. I came back the next night and saw their color specialist and she fixed my hair to my satisfaction. By this time however, I had spent 9 hours in the chair and my hair was fried from all the remover and color treatments. This time though the owner blamed the ordeal on the fact that I swam in a pool a few days before the first color (green) mistake. I asked if they would reimburse me for anything or give me anything for all the time and trauma I went through and they offered for me to come back in 2 weeks for a deep conditioning treatment. Since I vowed to myself to never return I didn't go back to get it. I went to another salon in Chapel Hill for my next hair cut and told the stylist about my Mina's experience and she told me that her salon has fixed a ton of Mina's color mistakes.

Good Color, Bad Cut
by citizenann
Asked for highlights, and the color was good, not too 'stripey.' The cut, however, was really bad. If you want a Rod Stewart haircut, they might be okay, but if you want a classic blunt or precision cut don't go here. The stylist cut my hair in one straight cut across the bottom, like they do at SuperCuts or someplace cheap. Why doesn't this work? Because there's too much hair for the scissors and the stylist has to HACK at your hair, which means the line isn't straight. Worst of all, when the stylist held the ends of my hair between fingers to cut it, they flipped their hand upward which made the underneath hair longer than the top. To add insult to injury, the right side was 2 inches longer than the left, but it wasnt' supposed to be. The stylist didn't even check to see if the sides matched in length! The stylist also didn't know how to use a straightening iron - my hair was supposed to be straight and flat, not curled under like in the 1980s. If the manager or owner reads this, please do the following: (1) ask new clients what style they want before scheduling. Not every stylist can do a precision cut, and if the receptionist is too busy or untrained to handle these inquiries, someone qualified should do so; (2) educate your stylists on cutting blunt or precision hair in 3 sections - underneath, middle and outside, leaving the outside layer long enough to cover the bottom 2, and make sure they cut loose hair after hair is dry and then check their work!!! For $200, the experience wasn't worth it or relaxing (environment is too busy and noisy with a small waiting area.) I felt rushed, unimportant and surprised this place is so popular.
Pros: Decent color
Cons: Ambience, Customer Service, Stylists Education

wow I was suprised with the salon's resoponses
by danismithgirl
obviously this place prides itself on there selection, haricuttin, manicre, pedicure, falcials, spa servaves, facials and massages so obviouly they get a great deal of customers ussing didfferent services therefore more rating and just by the 2 rating RESPONSES FROM THE COMPANY they seem nasty and seem to try to blame customers for what the customer did wrong and not the company. I am definitely gonna tell my friend that told me about this about how on one of the last responses you almost embarrased someone by letting the public know that she had a gift card and because of your bad service she wanted to recive cash to go elsewhere. I know good customer service and every time I hav had abad ex[perice(if I go back) it's becuase the company had made some kind of way to make me happy. Obviously you guys care where more about quanitity than quality. I read a useers reveiew and they clearly explained how they went there 2 times and got bad coloring. they shouldnt have had to go 2x. If your stylist messed up they should have been able to get a free coloring for the waste of the customers time not the stylist. Customer sevice obiousluy isnt your stron suit. Maybe its a nice salon but the worst thing in the world is to spend a lot on your hair it look terrible and have a snottty receptionist. Wow I will never go here noreccomend going here do soley to your responses to others negative comments. If you guys mess up you shoud reimubrse her to go to another slanon gift card or not and NO ONE should have to go 2x for color. I have a;ways went to the best salons and if they mess up and waste MY time than (i am usually a regular when I find the right place)they fix it promptly and give me some kind of compensation for wasting my time to begin with. We didn't go to cosmetology school. Based by every response you gave I can see you think you are a superior salon and had not seen you write one comment about ways you could improve... I hate salons like that
Pros: they have alot of services
Cons: bad management and quantity not quality

Are we talking about the same place?
by perolita
I have many years with my hair stylist at mina's studio and since I have come to the salon for different services I have developed very good friendships with some of them, I need to write this comment because I can't beleive in this century we are still having a chat about an issue that is only present in the mind of the real and luckly extinguishing minority of people making race separations, I am an African American woman, proud of my heritage but not looking to the past for mistakes other people made in other times, I do not look for excuses to continue negative and pointless discussions. And back to Mina's the person you are talking about, Tirso, is the nicest person I have ever met in the salon he is respectful, professional and funny to say he is black! so I can be sure you are just exagerating and your facts are not straight. Alejandra I will see you soon for my haircut!
Pros: staff, internet, on time, relaxed
Cons: schedule with time!

disgusting
by hjkye
The mani/pedicare at Mina's was the worst experience ever. The guy didn't have the basics on nail care (contouring, eliminating cuticle, lousy coloring, etc.). I was specially disgusted when I saw all the remaining cuticles on his nipper, and then I found all the nails sitting there on his pink towel which had become greyish. The nails were not mine of course. I wonder how their bikini waxing bed looks like. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww!!!

Not to be missed!
by impeck2
I have been going to Mina's for years and it feels like home. The front desk knows my name, knows who I see and I always feel welcomed while I'm there. I love that they have the Bumble and bumble treatment line, too--it's made such a difference with my hair.
I get compliments on my hair regularly and I wouldn't go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my hair!
Pros: Staff has constant in-salon education, up-to-date on trends

Beware! You'll get addicted!!
by dukedivlaw
Kelley is the best! I had been driving to Richmond to get my hair cut by the stylist I used in college but finally found someone down here that I like. She does a great job! I also love Heidi's massages. She's hilarious and is great at giving a really deep massage (but she'll also be quiet and give you a lighter massage if you want) :)
Pros: good availability of appointments, fun staff
Cons: the money leaving my wallet :)

Kelley Shaw is terrific!
by formerchapelhillresident
I can only say wonderful things about Kelley Shaw. I strongly recommend her for a great haircut! She knows how to work with long hair, which isn't always easy. Overall I had a very positive experience at Mina's.

Great waxing services
by sunnid
This was my first visit to Mina's and I will definitely be back! I had a bikini wax by Angela and my eyebrows done by Molly. Both were professional, on time, and wonderful! It was my first bikini wax and Angela put me at ease (I was terrified!). The outcome was perfect and I am now addicted! Molly really took her time on my eyebrows and did not let me leave until she felt they were perfect. She called it her "OCD" (smile). I walked out of there looking great and ready for vacation. Thanks Angela and Molly!!
Pros: on time, friendly service, good bikini wax price
Cons: line at the front counter, pricey eyebrow waxing

Great manicure
by sarahcraychee
This was my first visit to Mina's. I had a manicure done by Carlos this morning and I really enjoyed myself. He did a great job on my nails (one of the best manicures I've had in a while), but most importantly, the salon and equipment were clean (right out of the barbicide container). I also really enjoyed talking with Carlos while he did my nails. Some nail techs leave you hanging in awkward silence while they work, but he was easy to talk to and had a lot of interesting things to say. Overall, a great experience!
Pros: Friendly staff, parking, clean
Cons: none

The real deal...
by mcdanies77
I have had nothing but great experiences with Holly and their manicure/pedicure staff. I have used them for several years since living in Chapel Hill and love their work and appreciate their overall service. The main downside is they won't accept tips on credit cards which IMO short-changes their staff of deserved tips.
I doubt there is a better full service salon in the area based on what friends and neighbors have told me over the past few years.
Pros: Excellent stylists and mani/pedi staff
Cons: Expensive

Nothing Special
by lace07
Very mediocre experience. Girl at front desk was kinda mean. Haircut and style was fine but nothing extra special.
Pros: Parking
Cons: Expensive

Best color
by briggswesche
I regularly get stopped by strangers who want to know where I got my hair cut. They wind up truly amazed when they find out it is colored as well. Louann is the best!

Life Savers for a Northern transplant
by cathyprimack
I moved to the South from up North and suddenly my straight hair went into frizz-action I'd never seen the likes of on me.
I struggled for 2 years to find someone to perfect a cut that would allow my hair to hang straight and NOT flip up in the Chapel Hill summer.
A neighbor whose hair I liked very much said I should try Alejandra at Mina's.
I was already going there for my manicures and pedicures, so I booked an appointment after the manicurist also suggested I try her.
Alejandra worked tirelessly and performed her magic just in time for my daughter's wedding last Fall.
Today I would like to thank her, and everyone who works so hard at Mina's to help all of us feel/look beautiful. Special note of thanks to the Front Desk Staff for their unending patience, smiles, and professionalism.
Pros: Creat professional staff at all levels

Heather is FANTASTIC!
by raleighner
After having several botched colors and cuts at other salons, it is always comforting to know that I can count on Heather for hair that I am pleased with and that gets lots of compliments. Thanks again for a great job!
Pros: parking, salon hours

Martha's Foot Magic!
by dpearsall
Martha is the Queen of the 1 Hour Pedicure! I run, play tennis, and am hard on my feet, but they are soft and callous-free thanks to Martha. I see her once a month without fail, and she keeps me on my feet and in sandals! Her leg massage keeps me coming back for more!
Erin at the front desk is a sweetheart and always remembers my name, making me feel welcome to be there.
Finally, my husband sees Heidi for massages and says she is amazing!
I highly recommend Mina's, and especially Martha!
