I don't understand some of these negative reviews.

This is a competent bakery for anywhere outside a major metropolitan area. For Eastern NC it is great.

I like the cinnamon buns and cheddar cheese bisquits.

Their speciality is small cakes and cup cakes of all types.

When I am in there people buy a lot of doughnuts. I am not a doughnut guy so cannot comment on that score.

They also serve a lunch with homeade tuna and chicken salads and soups.

OK World class is a stretch. I gave it 5 stars for location.

Went to Goose Creek to camp for the weekend and had to come in town to buy provisions. Not a thing to like about this place. It was decorated tacky (not in a cool way). Owner did not want to fill the carafe with regular/plain coffee because (and im not making this up) "its really expensive coffee" and he was closing in an hour. so we were "forced" into buying espresso drinks. from the taste, not expensive espresso...damage? two lattes, one doughnut = $12.73!! WTF?!? we were too overy the experience to even bother to argue the point.

I REALLY hope this was a singular event but it was pretty awful (because i prefer to support local, non-chain businesses). the doughbut was pretty good...the only reason they get a 2nd star

They started charing 75 cents for a cup of water (with or W/O lemon). Just the beginning of their downfall.

washington is a very small town. and not much selection in the restaraunt department but this is one of the few i would tell others about. if you have a sweet tooth this is the place to go.

This place is a oasis in the middle of drab Washington. They have a display of the best looking desserts around. I've gotten a cake from there for someone birthday before and it was very good. I've also been here for lunch a few times and gotten a sandwich. The specialty coffees are wonderful! I recommend the frozen vanilla cappachino (not sure of the exact name of it).
