I have shopped at Meridan several times since moving to the area in 2007. I have always found their sales staff helpful, but not so much their service department. I bought a very over-priced highway light set from them for my VStar 1100. I installed it myself after they told me installation would take up to two weeks if they did it. After identifying an electrical short with my installation, I rode the bike over to see if they could quickly look at the lights and maybe see where the problem was (which I would have gladly paid for their time). However I was rudely told that they had "no" time for this, and when i asked when a good time to come back was they replied "I don't know, maybe next month". I find them very rude and arrogant, and will not shop there again.

I have been in Meridian a few times. I never considered buying there bikes due to the high prices. Don't buy from them. buy privately owned or from somewhere up north. like sanford.

I was in the market to purchase a yamaha vstar 1100 custom. They had one in stock, but was rather pricey. It took me, literarely, 25 minutes to get a sales person to attempt to help me. The sales guy was nice, but the bike was $8700. I had been looking online and saw that yamaha had customer cash back on that exact bike. I asked the guy about it and he was like ummm, uhhh I don't know about that sir. I offered to go to his computer and show him, but he seemed rather reluctant. They are shady people and not willing to work deals with you. There were several people who had came in and asked why if they price matched, due to their high prices and the guy said "if you can find it cheaper somewhere else, I would recommend you just go there to purchase." What the hell is that? Are they so cocky and arrogant that they can sell bikes/atv's to all these naive soldiers that they feel like they don't even have to try?

Here is the bottom line. They have prick sales people. I bought the same exact bike a week later in lumberton for over a $1,000 cheaper. That may not sound like much on a car, but it is a truckload of difference from $8700 to $7700. I will never shop at meridian again and I have sent out mass emails through Fort Bragg recommending people to lumberton/sandford to purchase bikes. Hope this review helps

I bought a slightly used 2007 Yamaha Raptor 700 Quad ATV from Meridian in Dec. 2007. I couldn't test ride it due to "insurance" but they promised it had been checked out by their best mechanic due to earlier claims of faulty parts when really the rider had damaged used units. So... I get home and roll it off the trailer and notice the front wheel wobbling. I jacked it up and sure enough, the front wheel is bent so badly that it had about 2" of side to side runout.

I called the next day and asked if this was a 'once it leaves the store, it's yours" kind of deal or if they would work with me on the issue. I was told to bring it back (1.5hr drive) and they would look at it. I didn't ride it but it was about two weeks before I could get it to them. The dealership owner "George" stands by his guys - he said : "they PDI'd (pre delivery inspection) it and found no issues". So, the incenuation is that I bent it. Heck I didn't even ride it for 2 weeks after I bought it. He did offer a wheel at his cost ($117) but I can buy an aftermarket for less - actually bought four wheels/tires off ebay for $200 delivered.

I know some people out there would claim damage that they did themselves and hope the dealer would help them out. I thought that maybe they would be better than this and not go by the "you bought it / you own it - as is" policy since I brought it back obviously unridden (it was spotless just as I bought it). I'm a Quality manager and have the highest ethics. In this case, they messed up, lost a customer for life, and make me want to tell everyone that I can about my experience. I have three sons and we go through a fair number of bikes every couple of years. None will ever come from Meridian obviously.

Lesson/Opinion: Lousy mechanics that didn't even see a wheel issue like this. They claim that they "barely made any money" on the sale thus can't help me out ... now where have I heard that before? :-). ** Buyer beware on their used bikes. Don't trust them, check them out yourself or insist on having a mechanic that you trust check it out just like you would a car. And with mechanics like they have, I wouldn't trust them to do any maintenance work on my bikes!

I have been to Meridian probally a hundred times with my husband, and they still treat us as we might still by a bike from there. THey are always nice and courteous. My husband took his bike there to get a oil change, they were fast and not high priced. We actually plan on going there for our next motorcycle purchase.

PROS: Big and roomy, feel safe taking my kids inside.
CONS: Kind of outta the way.

Meridian has a wide variety of parts for motorcycles. If they don't have what you need, they can order it, or give you a reliable reference. My kids love to go in there because they let you touch everything!

PROS: kid friendly motorcycle shop
