The Dr. is very nice and her front office staff, her medical assist is very nice; but her office manager Tracey Fisher is very unprofessional. On May 27th 2011 about 2:15pm she called me about my medical claims thru metlife.....telling me that Dr. Payne has decided not to approve it, the office manager stated to me that my conditions should not keep me out of work, which is asthma, which is very bad....along with depression, anxiety, and panic attachs....I said to her that she has no ideal on how I am feeling. Then she said well maybe you need to go see an pyshcologist I said I have one that I use to see last yr...she says last yr? I said yes I have not seen 1 because I had no ins. and when I had Medicaid she didn't accept it.....I didn't have a PROBLEM with her telling me that the Dr. didn't agree with signing me out thru metlife...it is just she showed no sympathy.....like I was trying to explain to her that this depression, anxiety and panic attachs are real....and sometimes I just start crying and can not stop...or sometimes I can not get out of bed.....and it still didn't matter to her what I was saying.......then the phn signal went out I tried to call her back, but the service was on....but she lft me a vm saying that she gues I hung up on her because I didn't like waht she was saying? And she guess I will be going to another Dr.....

Dr Joe, his wife, Dr. Gina and their colleagues at North Raleigh Primary Care run a top notch practice! I needed to go for a sensitive issue and Dr Gina was not available. Time was of the essence, so I saw Dr Joe instead. I need not have worried, he put me at ease with his professionalism and I walked out feeling confident that my concerns were addressed. Wouldn't go anywhere else for primary care in the Triangle!

Our family previously seen Gina and Joe when they were from Hermitage, PA. As you probably already know they've been gone from this area a couple of years now. We have yet to find another doctor to replace them. The relationship that I had with Gina was exceptional. They are very sadly missed by so many from our area. Raleigh residents, you have two outstanding doctors in these two. We had the same waiting issues from time to time as you do, but to have such exceptional care I would wait again. Gina and Joe have always had an incredible patient load because of their expertise, personality and service. Gina and Joe, if you happen to read this we miss you!

I "found" Dr. Joe and Dr. Gina when I was searching for a new practice. I was having a mixture of symptoms that my previous Dr. had not been addressing effectively. Dr. Joe explained the D.O. whole body wellness approach and it has made a world of difference. The staff is wonderful, the the receptionist, lab, P.A.'s and especially Dr. Joe and Dr. Gina. They definitely listen well and care about their patients.

True. Sometimes there IS a wait...but it's because some patient is speaking with the doctor's about a concern. My daughter and I have been patient's of both Dr. Joe & Dr. Gina, and they are stellar! My daughter is going through her "alien adolescence" along with suffering with ADD, and both have spent considerable time with her to get her on the right track both physically and mentally. They both LISTEN, and treat patients with the care and respect they deserve. Yes, sometimes I wait, knowing there's probably some patient that is taking longer than expected because of some issue that was not accounted for in the appointment time. However, when YOU need the time, you'll be glad your not "rushed out the door". You'll be glad to be heard by someone who actually cares, and will take measures to help. And, by the way, the nurses are consistently great. Happy, witty and well trained. The other poster must have been having a bad day!

I've been a patient at North Raleigh Primary Care for almost 10 years now. They've been with my medical carrier for all that time, so I've never had to switch. They used to be located in a crappy building on Falls of Neuse across from Winston's, but moved sometime around 2000 to a new building on Green Rd. The location is further from my house, but quicker drive. One other reviewer said something about Dr. turnover, and I'd have to agree that there have been quite a few changes, but the actual Dr's and PA's who have seen me one or twice a year since 98' have been thorough and nice to deal with. I've never had any problem with billing or scheduling. One time they couldn't squeeze me in for an appointment , so I wound up going to the Emergency Room at RCH which worked for the best anyhow. Any other time I've been able to get an appointment in a day or two as long as I was flexible to the time. Sick walk-ins take longer, but they managed to squeeze me in within an hour or so. I'm not convinced that you're going to zip right in at any Dr. Office these days without a wait. The office itself is pretty plain, but I'm not expecting a spa-like experience when I head to the Dr. anyhow. I'm just switching companies and they have a different provider, but I NRPC is affiliated with the new company so I can maintain this same practice.

I have seen the doctors and staff and all though very busy they were all very caring, courteous, and PROFESSIONAL!! I had to bring my 3 yr old boy for my physical and the staff was willing to still let me keep my appt and watch him for the exam time that would have otherwise been uncomfortable. They made it a great day for me.

Cons: Average wait time & Office staffing

I'm a new patient in North Raleigh primary care. Second time, I called and made appointment and confirmed that this the date and time for your appointment, but, when i get to the office they told me that my appointment was been passed and I missed it. It was weird because when I even confirmed with the nurse Jennifer (not very friendly person) she said nope, thats not the time i told and so and so. It was horrible, also, on the phone they are not very professional either.

I have been a patient for a few years now and I am now seeking out a new primary care physician. Every time I make an appointment the wait is over an hour to see the DR. last time my appointment was for 11:30 and I didn't get called to see the Dr until 1:45. The staff at the front desk staff are unpleasant and uncaring. I tried to get in to see the DR because i was having problems with my asthma and needed a nebulizer treatment, I was told that the soonest I could get in would be the following week. I work right across the street from the practice and asked if I could pop in and get an inhaler to hold me until I could see a DR, I was told not without an appointment. I ended up buying an over the counter inhaler and going to an urgent care where the staff actually cared about their patients!

The physicians are great and the Quest representatives are too, however billing appears to be outsourced to a company that doesn't actually submit claims to insurance. It's impossible to get a hold of anyone to resolve such issues. The MA's and desk assistants are less than pleasant. I've worked in may physician offices and this has substandard service quality and help. Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere

Fantastic, very responsive and compassionate care by the doctors and nurses in this practice. They are true listeners and take the time to help resolve the problem. Couldn't be better!

My teen daughter saw a doctor here a few years ago and commented he was the only doctor who ever took the time to listen to her. When I looked for a doctor for myself recently, I went here first and will never go anywhere else. Great quality of care and compassion. They were firmly committed to being outstanding health care practitioners and it shows.

I usually do not go to the doctors that often but after going in with one issue that was bothering me the Doctors and staff did everything they could to get me to the specialists that handled two other issues I have had for years. Friendly atmosphere and quality oriented Doctors and Staff. I am glad I found this place

Do NOT go to this dr's office, it's horrible! They squeeze so many people in to an hour that you'll end up waiting over an hour to get in, the people at the desk are not very helpful, but mostly the doctors don't care about you as much as they care about how much $$ they can fit into their pockets. They will mess up your prescriptions and trying to get it fixed is a nightmare. Plus they change doctors there every few years so even if you get one you like, he or she will be gone soon and you'll just get placed with the latest. Save yourself a lot of hassles and avoid this place.

Again a great place for familys or just yourself, the doc here are really nice and understand where it hurts so to say, Great friednly place with not to bad of a wait time. Not the best for kids lol small office space due to so many rooms so the kids get bored , Not to much papper work or hard time with insurance companys. The place its self isnt hard to find just need to watch out for it with traffic and all. all around pretty nice!
