Access Computer Inc in Charlotte is a wonderful company. The person in the review prior to my own (KD) must have not seen the 3 signs that post the cost of the time the diagnostic takes. I have been using Access for 15 years and they are far cheaper and better at their job than any of the others and the turnaround time is quick for a growing company, they have been here for 21 years!!
I am trying to get my company to switch to using Access instead of the horrid local company we have been using lately. They keep your PC forever and charge twice as much.
KD my advice; do your homework , the more experience and education a company has the higher the diagnostic is, don??t be afraid to ask the technician about his education and experience. Best Buy hires the geeks right out of school, it's kind of like letting a doctor fresh out of medical school operate on you. They know all the parts and what they do when they are not working anymore but they don't seem to connect the dots as well without the experience.
And the receptionist will tell about the details of pricing. If you ask she will explain how the pricing works.
In all they have always worked with me and if they miss something then they will gladly fix it no questions asked because I will notice soon as I plug it in. I call right away and they tell me to bring it back and they take care of it right away.
I know I am one of many repeat customers and for some reason only the unhappy ones seem to know how to leave feedback on many websites.

Thank You Steve and Rexx :)

I recently contacted Access Computer to request a quote to replace an obviously broken DVD drive for my Dell laptop. I was told that they could not provide a quote over the phone, but if I brought the laptop in, they would give me a price quote. I then dropped the laptop off, told the associate that I wanted a quote for replacing the DVD drive and for a general tune up / clean up. They called me with a ridiculously high quote (twice what other companies had offered), so I told them not to perform the work and I would pick it back up. When I went to pick it up, they would not return it to me unless I paid them $65 for their diagnostics. Aside from the fact that I told them exactly what was wrong with the laptop, I was never told of the $65 charge until they had already done the "work". The owner's response was that the $65 charge was posted on the door behind me and I should have read the sign and they were going to keep my laptop until I paid up.
